Not sure where to post this as its to do with me. Well is about sleeping/settling. I am up many times with dd2 so once I get her off to bed and my other dd I try and get myself off to bed. Around 7:30 8ish. I have been having a hot choc before bed to try and help. Anyway I usually lay there for so long and just when I fall asleep dd2 wakes. Then in the morning if I am woken around 4:30 onwards I just can't get back to sleep. So really not getting much sleep at all and feeling very tired and emotional. It actually makes me feel sick to the stomach and I start dry reaching. YUK! I find once I eat someting I feel a little better for awhile. Also a shower helps wake me up a bit.

I am terrible atm too!
I find a warm bath before bed with some lavender jj oil and dh giving me a foot and leg massage helps greatly!

Ive been awake since 3 am this morning.

Falling asleep is hard, and falling back asleep if I wake up is even harder. Alot of it has to do with pregnancy though, just so darn uncomfortable! :p

Have you tried the age old remedy of warm milk? :)

Me too! My DD also wakes frequently and as soon as I fall asleep, she wakes. I think my body just thinks there's no point trying! I gave up going to bed early and now wait till after the dream feed (1030/1100pm) and go to bed then as breast feeding releases a chemical that makes me feel sleepy so I can drop off more easily (although I'm usually up again an hour or so later!) It is frustrating being tired and not being able to fall asleep - these bubs better spoil us on Mother's day when they're oder!!

I'm the same, although don't have pregnancy as an excuse lol. A warm shower followed by a warm milo sometimes works.

I'm the same. My DS sleeps pretty well, but often if I have to resettle him at 3am or 4am (which usually takes about 1 minute) I'll still be lying awake at 5.30am.

Once I'm awake, I can't turn my head off!

DD wakes between 3.00am and 4am I go change nappy and resettle takes around 1/2 hr depending, then i lay awake waiting for her to wake again for a feed and finally fall asleep around 5.30am 6.00am just when she wakes for a feed. Good thing is she goes straight back to bed after that feed and I get to sleep till at least 9.00am when i wake stressing over doing house work ect.

Ive had insomnia since a teen it's a pain, its worse lately as I have a hubby that snores louder then a lawn mower, and a toddler that wakes every few hours during the night,
I get if I am lucky 3hrs a day of sleep & that usually in the arvo when toddler has a nap n hubby at work.

Just a thought but maybe try some noncaffeine peppermint tea as chocolate contains some caffeine which can keep you awake. ALso if you have coffee/coke in the day maybe dont have any after 2pm.

I had terrible trouble sleeping and was eventually diagnosed with PND - now that is under control the sleeping is much better.

I've found that if I get on the computer (ie BubHub) before going to bed I have trouble falling asleep, and I think it's because it's too stimulating and I end up lying there thinking about all the information I've just read. It also leads to me thinking about a whole lot of stuff going on in my life and I end up finally falling to sleep a couple of hours later instead of drifting off within 5 minutes like I usually do.

So I've stopped logging on before bed and instead I read a book. I think being just tired enough but not overtired helps too, just like babies.
