hi ladies....
my son is 16 months,he only started to sleep through the night at 11 months!!
He has been waking the last few nights in a row...I give him a bottle and he's back in his cot till he wakes up in the morning ...Am i doing the wrong thing by giving him a bottle??Some people are telling me he'll get use to it...
Any ideas???I do let him go for 5-10 minutes, sometimes he goes back to sleep, sometimes he doesnt...It doesnt bother me,but like I said people are telling me he'll keep on doing it.

My bub is 22 mths and I had to stop giving him bottles through the night, like you said people are telling you to stop doing it becasue it will turn into a habit. I did it because I didn't want him to scream or he may have been sick or teething. I did the whole control crying for 5 nights then he relapsed because I started giving him the bottle in the middle of the night just to get him back to sleep. I say if you don't mind waking up then keep doing it but there will come a time where you will get sick of getting up. I had to do the 5 night crying thing again and stick to it this time.
I had to return to work full time so I had to bite the bullet. He occasionally wakes up now but no bottles just a tuck in and say good night ( maybe a nightmare). I leave a bottle of water at his bed and he knows if he's thirsty he can have it. He understands quite a lot and knows I am not far away. I read a book and it said babies leanr to self settle without the need of a bottle, as adults we don't eat in our sleep so giving an extra bottle is out of habit rather than anything else.
I love it now he sleeps through I get a much more peacefull sleep.
Good luck with it,
Mel
