Hi everyone. I am in need of some advice.. and maybe a little bit of support. My DS2 is 3 months old and, like DS1, has begun to feed so frequently during the day that by night time, I need a break and he needs a full tummy. With DS1 at this age, I gave him a supp feed at night and he started sleeping through.
Ds2 won't take a bottle though, no way, no how. So my concern is - can babies sleep through this early and be purely breastfed? I hope this doesn't sound trite, I know I am lucky to have happy and healthy boys, but I need a break desperately from feeding and it just isn't an option with his bottle refusal.
Any advice please??? I guess I am feeling like I cant keep up with his demand..

DD1 slept through at 4 wks and 1 day and she was fully breastfed.
DS - hmmm, he didn't sleep through until about 9 mths
DD2 was sleeping through at just over 3 months and did so for another 2 months, then started waking again for one feed and going straight back to sleep. In the last week she has started sleeping through again.
:hugs: I hope that it works out for you.
also - my first two kids would never drink out of bottles either. DD1 went straight to a sippy cup with ebm from 6 weeks. Have you tried a cup maybe?

I could never get mine to have a bottle even this dd she wont nor a sippy cup but shes been sleeping through since around 11 weeks old but only with a dream feed. To me its sleeping through though :) generally she will go 11pm till 5-6am. Have you tried this to see if it stretches things out so you can have a solid sleep?
We still have a few ratty nights though every now and again but generally shes ok

Sam's mum- you are my saviour in my hour of need, thank you so much for your post. My DH and I were talking about using a sippy cup but we haven't heard of anyone using one. That is fantastic though, how did you do it? Any special cup she used?

Thanks Punkbaby! Yes did dream sleeping with DS1 so I think I may give that a go. Unfortunately though, he seems to go to bed when we do. will see how we go tonight.
Thank you so much for your replies! Good to get other perspectives so I get out of my own head for a bit :)

I had gone to play netball and mum (being very organised) had already bought cups ready for when she was older. She wouldn't take the ebm out of a bottle, so mum put it in the cup. It was a long time ago, but it was one with only a couple of holes in the top. I would get your DH to do the feeding with you not in the room, that way DS won't smell the breast milk on you.
good luck :fingerscrossed:
