Hi all

My friend would like to make a large cake for her DD's birthday coming up soon. She has a large pan she would like to make it in.

Does anyone have any good cake recipes for a large cake?

Preferably a sponge / butter cake.

Thanks

How big is the cake tin? If you can tell me the width of it across and what shape (round/square), I have a cake cookbook which has a variety of different size recipes.

It has butter cake, choc mud and white choc mud (what I made for our wedding cake, Yum!)

I have to admit I only use a packet cake to make the cakes now (I suck at 'from-scratch' cakes :o).

I have found the White Wings Angelic vanilla cake to be well and truly worth it! It is a bit pricey at just under $5 (normal price) but it's pretty well fool proof, 97% fat free and is quite a large cake - when I need it bigger, I just use 2 packs. The pack says to use a 20cm round, 6cm deep pan, but it's a deep cake.

It really is worth it - I always get great comments!
