Hi Cloth Gurus,

What are your experiences with buying one size from birth to toilet trained nappies compared to buying the 'sized' ones e.g. small or 5-11kg etc.

Is it really true that a nappy will fit your bubs from the day they are born to the day they no longer need a nappy?

I know every babies shape is different, but I'd love to know people's stories and experiences as I'm just starting to buy a few starter kits and have stumbled across this choice and I'm a bit stuck as to what to do.

Btw, so far I'm going with a baby beehinds starter, Green kids starter and hopefully some Sandras stuffables. Can't wait!!

Thanks :yelclap:

Well i have mainly Greens & they are great !
Bubs is the size of a 20mth old LOL & only 13mths so he weighs in around the 12kg mark but is very tall so this makes it easy for them to still be fitting him well & i have heaps of growing room as the longer velcro strip means as he puts ore weight on it goes with him. They are a little to big for a newborn so they advise to use them as a cover over a fitted terry until bubs is big enough but i wouldve been fine as bubs was 4.5kg born LOL so hopefully the next one will be the same hehehehe.
I also have some eenees in the 0-2 size which still fit bubs they are a smaller cut but i can see as soon as he grows a little more he will need the next size up but they are very handy i must say with only needing to change the inserts unless the pant is soiled.
I still havent gotten any Sandras but i hope to do so soon enough whenim back in the good books LOL !

I think the bee ones will definately fit from little baby to toilet training. They have plenty of press studs to be adjustable and you just fold the front down when thy are little babies.

I love the bee nappies.

I am unsure of how long the Greens will last. My DD who is 7months and a bit thick around the waist might run into a bit of trouble shortly. Can't really see it lasting too much longer.

Might have a look at Sandras.

im not really sure as i have made most of my fitteds. and i use a S/m/l pattern which is spose to fit till bubs is a bit bigger then my DS now.
i have also brought a few 10kg+ ones.

A friend of mine recently had a baby, and has Baby Beehinds. I was looking forward to see if they really do fit a newborn.. and yes, they do! They were a little big for the first week or so but then they were fine. And I know someone who has a 3 year old who wears them at night.

I think for better fit the different sizes are definately the go. I have found that after alot of use the one size fit all nappies tend to stretch a little and will not fit a newborn only the toddler or bigger baby nicely. They go saggy in the bum in other words on the newborn!

I know the lady who owns baby beehinds... she has a bub of only 3ish weeks old... and he has been in baby beehinds since he was born... they DO look a little bulkier on a newborn.. .but they are REALLY effective..

- I used terry flats on Jack till he got a cit chunkier - now I use honey-boys and green pockets mainly...

**it really depends on how big your baby is when he/she arrives??? Jack was 8pd 13... and immediately fitted the smalls in the pookey pocket range...

I personally would be reluctant to purchase the nappies with the different sizes... I prefer the one sizes... but that is JMO!!
