what age for a jolly jumper?
what age and weight did u turn your baby car seat around?
my little man is 12 weeks and he is holding his own head well. and is 7kgs.
when would be the best time to turn the seat?

On both counts, not yet! He surely would not have the head control for either.
My DS was 10 months before i turned his car seat around. It is so much safer to keep them rearward facing for as long as possible. I only turned DS around because he was getting too long.
Also DS was about 3.5 months when he first used his jolly jumper.

ty.. my sister turned her man at 7kgs.. 6 months. so i thought that i would ask.
my boy uses his walker, he sits in it and watches me cook tea or we play with him. he loves the idea of sitting up. that is y i asked.
my man is getting a bit long for the carseat in the backward faceing as well, his legs are on the back seat.
so i guess i will just have to wait. i am going to see my cchn on tusday. i will see what she says.. just thought to ask here as well.. ty all
my weight for the carseat only goes to 8kgs rear.
what does your carseat go to that way?

We had to turn my son's seat around at about 4 1/2 months because he was getiing to big to face the front.
I turned the car seat at 4 months for all my kids, but it was still in the slight reclining position, with the head rest insert (not that they really rested on it unelss alseep). We never really went out that much and only short trips too.
never used a jolly jumper or walker with my kids, so dont know about that

Hi,
Can I just add a question to this thread?
I was also wondering when to turn bubs seat around... Taylah is just over 4 months, but only weighs just on 5 kgs. She has fairly good head control. Im guessing we should wait...
All opinions valued

i think it is more the weight issue then what it is the head controll. as i guess no matter how well they hold their heads. it won't really help o a crash. so i guess it is best to wait till the weight, as the weight will work better then the head controll. but some one else maybe able to answer this as well

I went to a talk at our health clinic on car seat saftey and they say the longer the child is in the car seat( facing the back) the better it is for the baby. However i did turn ds around at about 4;5 mnths, when he was 8kg. Which is another thing they said to wait for!
As for the jolly jumper i had ds in it when he was abt 4mnths old. You your self would be the best judge of what you think suits your baby as evey baby does grow and reach each stage at a differnt age!

Actually it is more of a head control thing than a weight or age thing.
I turned DD's carseat around when she was about 7 months old and she was about 8.5kg - but I have a carseat with an inbuilt head rest insert - so even if DD falls asleep in the car, her head is well supported.
As for the jolly jumper - I found that until about 7 months, DD couldn't support her upper body well enough to be in it for any length of time.
I had DD in her jolly jumper from about 4 months. :smiliedance:
Turned her carseat around at 6 months as she was too long for the other way(i found she liked it better because she could see me too).
she has always had quite good head control even since birth, but it's definately safe to go with how you think your baby will go, they are all different.:)
I started putting both my bubs in the jolly jumper at around 12 weeks. Only for a few mins at first, then as they gained more control of their upper body I left them in for longer. DD is 5mths now and loves it, she'd happily jump away all day if I let her
I was told to turn the carseat at 9kg, as long as bub has good head control. My seat also has a length recommendation on it, but I can't remember what it was. I turned DS around at about 6mths, DD is 5mths and she wont be turned around for at least another month either.
