I am just curios as to what else i substitute for a cover? I have a friend who is a MCN user and i am sure she said that i can use polar fleece pants as a cover? Is this correct? Am i able to go into BigW or Best and Less and purchase a $6 pair of trackys and use them as a cover???

What else do you ladies use instead of a specific cover??

You can, but normal fleece trakkies, they need to be polar fleece. And generally, in order for them to work well you need two layers in the wetzone or a very high quality fleece. Although i had a couple of el cheapo pairs that worked really well. You can buy specific one called 'flongies' online. I can't realluy think of anything else you can use though.

I have a few pairs i have made just like pants and shorts etc with two layers of fleece they work really well, as jembelina said though one layer wouldnt really work that well :)

I understand now. So i can go to spotlight and buy some fleecy material and custom make my own flongies? I just need to add double thicknes in the required area?

Yep. I use Polar Fleece 100% Polyester pants over the top for during the day use...works really well. Bonds are a good brand to use. Don't need the extra double up part in the middle if it's just during the day (my girl is a heavy wetter).

I just used polar fleece from spotlight as its cooler here anyhow i did a double layer on the pants, i made them funky so the inside was a different colour so you could roll the legs and have a different coloured cuff on them. we had no leaks

Not sure how the bonds ones go though might have to try them, i know they would hold one wee but not sure how they would go holding over night or a few hours during the day :)

Yep you can.

I've got a few pairs of the Bonds Polar Fleece trakkies that I use as a cover.

But you just have to make sure what you buy is 100% polyester, and NOT polyester/cotton... that won't work, it will get wet.

Polar fleece works well as a cover - but for a new baby, just make sure that you have 2 layers - and even then you can get compression leaks, cause new bub's don't move. We never had an issue, cause we didn't let a nappy get saturated, and we preferred to use a higher quality fleece.

As the ladies have said you need 100% polyester though to work well.

You'll find that you can get away with 1 layer on a baby that is mainly crawling/walking, that doesn't sit still or lay down for long periods iywkim.
