Bubs is nearly here !!!
I've decided to use cloth for my second and am not quite sure what the neccessities are.
So far I have got;
24 "Dri glo" cotton towelling nappies.
3 nappy fastners (Snappi's)
and 3 cotton Terry Pilchers.
What else do I need???
Also, what washing detergent is best for these cloth nappies?
Thanks in advance!!! :)

You might like some fleece liners to keep bubs bottom dry :)
Also some really good covers, as opposed to pilchers. They are a little bit more expensive, but they are definitely worth it - much more breathable, will last longer, and better fit to hold poos and wetness in. You can get PUL covers from the Baby Beehinds website.
I just use whatever washing detergent I am using at the time for my clothes, but I only use half the amount or less, nappies don't need much detergent.
Hope that helps!

I totally agree with Phineas about the pilchers. When I first converted to cloth I just used cheapo plastic pilchers and they were cr@ppy! They were like a little sauna and the plastic split and they crinkled when he moved. I got some BBHs and they are fantastic. They are more expense but really worth the extra $.
I love my Bummis covers. I find they're a better fit over terry towelling that the BabyBeehinds ones.
Also... if I were you I'd google Darlings Downunder, Green Kids, The Wee Wuns and Nurture Nappies.
Just to really confuse you.
Also, I found that when Gabby was a new new newborn, flannel squares were better than terry ones, as they were thinner... But you can't use snappies on them, so I just held them in place with a good cover.
oh GOSH yes .. you cant beat a bummis cover .. or a cover from the babybeehinds site .. (google both :D) .. seriously .. they ARE about $16 each .. but if you hvae four of them .. it would EASILY be enough .. :D
the cheaper pilchers - I started with them myself .. the velcro goes.. the elastic goes ..
the bummis/ babybeehinds - I've used for one child .. and they STILL look fantastic .. and the velcro is still good , and I'm using them again for bubs 2 :D

not to mention terry pilchers wll leak something terrible! nothing water proof in there.
get your self some great PUL covers. thirsties are good too as they have a gusset in the legs to contain newborn poos!
