So it's Good Friday! What's for dinner tonight? :chef: Pop your recipe up if you wish!

And a question from one who's curious - are you not meant to eat red meat on good friday, or is it all meat except fish?

Chris and I are having Chicken Chutney & Cheese! Awesome recipe that involves putting chicken breasts into a baking dish, tipping a jar of chutney over the top, then sprinkling with cheese and baking for 45min - 1hr! Serve on rice :D :chef:

That actually sounds really good, despite also sounding a bit odd  What do you serve it with? Mash? Mmmmmm mash...

Yeah, I said Rice but I'm thinking of putting it on mash tonight!

It really is yummy! And it takes about 2 minutes to prepare! :D

Is cheese counted as 'red meat' being that it's from a cow.

Not that -I- care, really, LOL I'm not the church going type, but the poor dear husband is.

We're havin fish and chips tonight....As a Catholic I don't eat meat on Fridays during Lent (the 40 days before Easter Sunday) I don't really think it matters much to people anymore but I kinda like having traditions:)

I had Macca's for breakfast! :p

Tonight i'm being good and cooking fish, mostly so i can tell my MIL that we had fish for dinner! :p

I have some crumbed fish fillets that i will just shallow fry. I think i'll do some mash to go with it and some mushrooms and onions cooked in lemon juice! Yum! :)

Ah Steph, you're such a good girl!:)

We're having chicken too as being from a Christian, but not Catholic family, we've never followed the no meat thing. Angus was raised Catholic but he's not a big follower.
But mainly I've had cravings all week for stroganoff so I think I'll chop some onions and mushrooms put in some paprika and tomato paste then stir in some sour cream.

To be honest I am so far overdue for grocery shopping that we made dinner "from the pantry".
Bits of cooked chicken breast, bits of carrot, broc & cauli, loads of brown rice and all covered in mashed pumpkin ans sweet potato. Mix well and eat up.:)

we're being 'heathens' too - curried mince and vegie stew. DP's allergic to fish so we never have fish at all - I MISS FISH!!!!!!!! Oh and prawns, yum

I think we're gonna have beef stroganoff and mash. We're not religious at all.

My mum is buddist and dad is roman catholic. So yeah...no fish for us today.
