I have a bit of a curly one for any of you out there that know about these things or might be able to point me in the right direction

I am currently in the decision making stage of if I want to vax DS or not. I am leaning towards yes. I have been reading that there is a recommendation that children the have steroids in their body not be immunised with certain vaccines, I believe the chicken pox vax is one (please correct me if I am wrong)

well, my dilemma is that I take a steroid based preventative for quite severe asthma. Of all the research I have read I can't find any definitive that the steroid is not transferred through breastmilk. If it is, what are the risks to vax DS?

very confused!

I don't know about the steroids sorry, but if I was you I would research the predisposition for asthma being a reason to delay or avoid vaccination as well.

Good luck.

thanks shed :) that's a really interesting point - I'll look into it

the only thing about vax and asthma i've found (so far), is that if he does develop asthma the risks of him contracting some things (like for eg, whooping cough) are increased.

I hope he's lucky tho', my DD doesn't have asthma, and in fact, I am the only one in my family that does
