I would love some suggestions on my dd going into her own bed. She is 15mnths and although we love her in our bed I am about to have baby #2 and I am worried she won't sleep as well with a crying bubba waking her all night. I don't agree with controlled crying so it is out of the question I don't mind sleeping with her until she falls asleep etc.
My little angel has never slept away from us.
If anyone could give me some pointers on trying this, I would like it if she does wake scared or wants us that she feels able to climb into our bed at anytime!!!!
Any thoughts.
My girls have always been in their own beds until about 5am when our bed fills up, but I have friends who have co-slept quite happily. One suggestion so that your little one feels safe and it is a gentler transition to her own room/bed is to start off with her in a bed in your room if you have room. I am aware of some people who have a mattress on the floor so that if their little people want to come in during the night and be close but not be in bed with Mum and Dad and the new baby, they can lie down there. I am also aware of a family with three kids who accepted that they were never going to move to their own rooms so had a special bed built so that all 5 could sleep in the bed and still have room - it was a king size bed with an extension around it.
The other thing to keep in mind is that even though a newborn's cry is very loud to us mothers, toddlers can sleep through anything! We have a small house and the new baby never woke the toddler, even though I thought her crying was deafening! Good luck with it all anyway!

Thanks Theresa, I hope it works for us I just don't want too many anxieties for both her and I. :)
