Happy chatting!
My news is that Becky ate nearly a WHOLE jar of baby food for dinner this evening! OMG! I'll bet good money it doesn't make a stick of difference to her sleeping patterns though.
Sam - I'm so glad I was able to help out. I've PM'ed you. If the cover keeps working (fingers crossed) I can run a few more up for you. They are really really simple.

A shiny new thread!!
Pixiemum - glad Isabelle went off nicely for u tonight! have u tried a sleeping bag at all? i find they are quite good, if Isabelle is going to suck her fingers unfortunatly i dont think there is much that can be done to stop them as ive found A now sucks her thumb when she gets tired as her dummy stays in her cot. doh hehe
Snakeeater - what a big effort! nice work. good to her the germs have left ur house and Odette came out unharmed. Toy wise, A loves her dangling toys on her playgym even more now she sits up with them n has coversations. Other than that shes content to just have a plushie
Sammilee - u got the winter cleaning bug maybe??? putting us all to shame here hehe although i did manage to get some washing done today. Sounds like u have a very brave boy there, A toppled over other day n bumped her head but no redness n 2 mins of cryin n she was ok poor thing. hard to keep them wrapped in bubble wrap
5andkeeping - cant wait to hear ur news! i hope its what u want, whatever that may be :)
Prudie - the routine looks good! how does Hugh go with 3 solid meals? A is still just on the one at lunch and 4 bottles. May introduce breaky next week. Hope the sleeping at night improves for u :)
Off to the zoo tomorrow with A as its meant to be nice weather, i know she wont get too much out of it but ill enjoy it, love watching the monkeys! Hope everyones having a good start to the week :)

Jackie - Awesome effort yesterday! Your place sounds so great, being able to take Odette out to see your chickens! I bet she loves that!
Sam - Caden sounds like a strong little fellow standing for a short period against your couch. I am just at the stage of getting Andi to sit for very short periods, i have her on a fold out couch thingy for little kids. I just prop her up in the corner. I saw the pics of your dog, she was so beautiful :hugs:.
5and....... How exciting....have you tested yet???? Would you be happy to have another bub?
Lou - Have fun at the zoo. I bet Alyssa will love seeing the animals. We took my DS to Melbourne Zoo when he was 4 months old and yeah it was more fun for us but he loved checking everything out!
Pixiemum - Thats great that Isabelle settled for you. It does get so exhausting when they wont settle. Luckily for me Andi has been a lot more settled this week.
Amy - I hope you are not getting sick :fingerscrossed:.
Andi is still doing great with her swimming. She closes her eyes when I give her the cue to go under the water and she kicks her legs! I also get big cuddles after each activity.
There seems to be heaps of sickness going round. I have had DS off from school with a gastro bug and bad cold, and DD1 and Andi both have colds. Poor Andi has not been able to suck the past couple of nights cos she cant breathe through her nose so I have been giving her saline drops. They seem to do the trick. But thankfully she has been sleeping quite well at night.
I had better go and sort out the kiddlywinks....
Have a good day

Hey lovely. Gotta ask..does a bub at Andi's age know instinctively to hold their breath when you put them under?
Sorry to hear about the winter ills Jo..particularly Andi not being able to breathe properly. Am with you on the saline thing..about the only thing that consistently works.
I think dh had the same as your ds..something gastric *uggh* but he went off to work today. Is your ds back to rights now?
I have Selia home with a head cold today. Keeping that girl in bed is like trying to keep oil below water. She tried to convince Lachlan to stay home too but he wouldn't have a bar of it. Apparently he really likes his teacher.
Go the cuddles from Andi:thumbsup:. Has anyone else noticed bub putting their arms wider when you hug them? Dane now spreads his arms out like he is trying to hug me back..awww.
Hope the colds are on the downhill run now.
Hugs,
Amy:)
Hi Ladies. Been a while since posted AGAIN.
pixiemum2 - Ava likes to fall asleep at the boob. At first I too was worried about her doing this but now after reading in sleeping settling section I just figure she will sort herself out. What I do is once she is asleep I detatch her then put her over my shoulder and rub her back for a couple of minutes then put her down. This was something I gradually did and touch wood is working fine for us now.
brodie - Wow Layla is one clever little cookie. Watch out she will be running rings around you before you know it!! Also congrats on a nephew. I dont have nieces or nephews and cant wait for some. Ava is the first grandchild on both sides.
Snake eater - It is exhausting trying to entertain them isn't it. They are just so frustrated wanting to do things but just cant.
Sam - dont feel too bad. Unfortunately I think there are going to be a few more spills ahead for all the bubs.
Widget - hope you feel better soon. Good news about Annabelle
Amy - hope you are feeling better too.
Hi to all the other mummies I have missed. I still have baby brain and this is the most info my pea brain can hold!!!! On the homefront here Ava has been one busy little girl. It turns out that her really bad week last week was due to the fact that she has cut a tooth. It showed itself yesterday morning. Thank goodness for that. also she is sitting by herself for long periods of time and when she is on her tummy she wriggles backwards. Pretty funny stuff as after a while she ends up with her feet under the entertainment unit and cant go any further so now I am forever moving her around.
Well better go. I am still in my pj's and I am sure little miss will be up from her nap soon.
Have a great Wednesday.

My news is that Becky ate nearly a WHOLE jar of baby food for dinner this evening! OMG! I'll bet good money it doesn't make a stick of difference to her sleeping patterns though.
WOW Fiona..Becky really does have the hang of eating:smiliedance:. Does she push much out? I am one of those mums who routinely scrape bubs mouth with the spoon during a feed and gives it back to them..lol.
I agree about extra feeding not making a difference to the sleeping. I have only been giving Dane food for the last three nights, and only a teaspoon or two, but he has woken at midnight all three nights for a quick drink. Did the big feed last night make any difference to sleep in the end?
Could it just be that age though? I wonder how many other bubs seem extraordinarily hungry these days?
Thank you for the new thread. I just love the decor:D.
Best dash to catch up on a few more personals.
Amy:)

She does still have the tongue thrust reflex, yeah - but she's sooo interested in food! She actually yells and grabs at anything you have in your hands when you're eating.

Avababy: Woohoo to the new tooth! Its mate should be along any week now:).
lol@Ava wriggling back to the entertainment centre. Will be fun when she wriggles under a couch and you have to hunt for her:yes:.
Sounds like she is well on track with her milestones.
Dane can only sit if I prop him with cushions. I saw a fab little chair the other day though that is like a semi-circular bench seat with a round pole at the front to hold bub in. Apparently helps new sitters to sit up for a bit.
5andkeeping: I figure it this way..you are exhausted now so what is another year extra? lol. Keen to hear when you POAS. I wouldn't have the patience to wait til Thurs..I would be peeing up a storm on sticks..lol.
My AF is doing dodgy things atm. Always been a 28dayer but since regaining it after Dane it has been up to 32days. This is the third late one. Hope it sorts itself out by the next one.
Sam: Oh you poor thing:hugs: bet it gave you a terrible fright..Caden seemed to cope with it though. We all do things that in hindsight we wish we had done differently. Don't think he is quite ready for tightrope walking yet..lol.
How are you coping with your dh being away?
Brodie: Layla certainly is the standout for milestones in this group. She is charging into life at full tilt..probably trying to catch up to Oliver.
Is there a chance you will move back into the home soon? I can't imagine being without all the goods and chattels that are part of being in a routine. How are you coping?
Pixiemum2: I could so relate when you said:In regards to the birth it was just horrible and painful. No drugs (non with Max either) and I felt like I was going to die. IF I ever got pregnant I will DEFINITELY be having an epidural!
I also had no pain meds with the last three bubs. With Lachlan and Selia it was fine because it was all so quick and panicked that there was no time to think about it. With Dane though I was induced and no knowledge of how long it would last etc..plus a bit Pavlov's dog..you KNOW what is coming next..lol. If I had another I would have them knock me out..lololol.
Friends are trying to adopt from Lithuania at the moment but they are 180th on the list and Lithuania only adopt out a small number a year to Aussies :(.
I had best dash back to the previous thread to see what else I have missed.

lol..she's dead keen then. We get curious looks more than physical demands. He only grabs my hand when he wants to bite on it:)

Hi Amy - Its amazing how quickly Andi learnt to close her mouth and shut her eyes. But saying that when I took DD1 for lessons at this age she used to open her mouth and eyes wide and think going under the water meant time to have a big drink  It was always hilarious to watch, but then she would come up choking on water:no:
I can totally relate to you about trying hard to keep Selia in bed. I have told Sam he has to rest up in bed, but no, he does not want to miss anything so I have been trying to make sure he isnt too close to the girls. He is feeling a lot better now, so I think the worst of it is over. Just trying to get him to drink some gatorade to replace a bit of what he has lost. I felt a bit wonky before so I hope I am not getting it :(
The cuddles are great arent they. Andi's arms spread wide open then she bury's her head into my shoulder with a big grin :bee:
I am so dense when it comes to computer stuff, but how do you do quotes on here???

ok i caved and tested today and tested with crystal clear! *drumroll* hehe
the crystal clear (i took both tests that were in the box) came up with a light blue line within 2 minutes! they are light but as thick as the control line, definatley blue and able to be seen easily!
now in saying that i still have cramping and feel like af might still come! but my boobs are soooooooo itchy are sore not normal for me with pms! im on day 32 and normally get af 27-30 days! ive made an apt to see my gp and will get it confirmed there! i dont know what im going to do..or what to think about it! i think right now im in denial! and that AF is on her way! maybe the tests are wrong? Im freaking out a bit. I honestly cant believe it. guess I need to change my user name!

And you & your sister being pregnant at the same time! From memory your sister is pregnant with twins???? ANy chance you could have twins too??
What are the ages of your kids?

My dd2 also thinks her swimming less are a great opportunity to rehydrate herself by drinking half the pool! It's so great that Andi loves her swimming lessons - nothing worse than listening to a small baby screaming the centre down.
Hope you DS feels better soon.
And oh how cute are the cuddles! Xavier likes to lean in and hold my face - must remember to regularly cut his fingernails as I do have a few scratch marks (given with love though :goodvibes:)

Thanks heaps. I am actually feeling a lot better already. I went to bed when Isabelle had a nap and woke up feeling much better.
Isabelle has been ravenous today. She has wanted booby all day and she never seems satisfied. I caved and gave her about 40mls formula and she was content straight away. I think I might get some rice cereal tomorrow and start her on solids. I hope my supply catches up tomorrow and that is was the gastro affecting it today.
Got to go, Max is home

Yay, I found the new thread! :yelclap:
How is everyone? Seems to be a lot of illness around, what a bummer! :hugs: to those that are feeling poorly or having to tend to sick kids.
Not a lot of news to tell here. Actually, quite boring really. DH is still away (he gets back on Friday night). Caden decided this morning that he would test his mummy and wanted to get up at 6am. No way, buddy! I went in and gave him his dummy, which managed to get another half hour or so out of him, but that was it. Very frustrating as I hate getting up at 7-7:30am at the best of times, let alone get up at 6:45am. This is where I really miss DH as he would have tended to Caden whilst I slept for a bit :D.
Other than that Caden and I lazed around at home for most of the day. Actually I declared today as PJ day 'coz I didn't bother getting us both dressed til after midday . We went for a walk in the arvo to check the PO Box for DH, and that's about it.
OK, I'll tackle some personals, but it's gonna be a bit hard as I can only go so far back on this new thread, so forgive me if I miss you, I still love ya's all!!!
Bec - Thank goodness you're feeling better. And yeah, I'd have to say that I reckon your supply was probably thrown out by feeling unwell. Last month I was ill for a day or so (funny enough it was when DH was in Adelaide last month so I had to tend to Caden all by myself whilst all I wanted to do is hang my head over the toilet bowl), I remember my supply not being the usual but it became right when I was feeling better.
Sharon - Aaawww, so cute about the cuddles and 'love scratches'. Caden doesn't actually hug per say, he'll snuggle into you when you hold him and give him a hug, but he doesn't actually put his arms around you as such... boo hoo! He doesn't love his mumma like Xavier loves his :crying:
DJ - O.M.G. Wow! A positive, huh? Ooohhh, how exciting!!! Totally jealous here :D. You sound like one tough woman (well, you'd have to be with 5 kiddies), so you and your DH will more than cope with a 6th child. I could imagine it being a real shock if the pg wasn't planned, but hey, it's all good. Your kids are so lucky to have such a lovely big family, many to share the good times with, and lots of support for when it's needed too. All good!!! (And again, I am soooooooooo jealous!).
Amy - If I remember correctly, you posted Dane's measurement/ weight on the other thread, and wow, he sounds like one skinny long bean LOL!!! You've probably mentioned this before, but are you and DH tall? Dane seems to be around the same weight as Caden but a good 5-6cm longer, that's like 2 inches! Wow!
Avababy - Yay for Ava's 1st tooth!!! That's a couple of Dec bubbas with teeth now. Still not teeth action here. And I can just picture Ava squiggling her way backwards and getting stuck under the telly LOL! Too cute!!!
Jo - Sounds like you have your hands full ATM with the sick kiddies. I hope things settle down for you. Any pics of Andi in her swimmers yet? Actually, anyone else got pics? You know how I love to see all our gorgeous Dec bubbas.
Louise - I hope you have a great day at the zoo. You should have lovely weather for it. How are you finding this sunshine? Great, huh? I loooooooooove weather like this. Nice and cool in the evening for snuggling in bed, but goregous sunshine during the day. I hope all is well with Alyssa. Still going great guns with the solids?
Jackie - Wow, what an impressive effort with the personals the other day, very impressed! How's working from home going? And how's Odette going? Still being a bit blah on the solids? I still haven't tried Caden on anything yet, other than a coupla rusks. He seems to love those, but I think it has more to do with chomping on something than actually tasting/ swallowing anything. And oh, BTW I didn't get to the bathroom, I knew that was being over zealous, but hey, the thought was there... haha!
Wendy - Thanks again for you help. So far soooooooooo good with the cover! Makes life so much easier if I don't have to strip Caden's bed every morning. I'll PM you now as I think maybe one or two more would be great. Thanks!
Well, I think that's it for me. It is very VERY late here so I'm heading off to bed. Hi to all the other gorgeous Dec mummies! Chat again soon.

Good morning ladies
We had soooo much rain here last night - surely the dams must have been topped up with that down pour.
I started Xavier on solids 2 nights ago - plain boring rice cereal and he loved it! Last night he was really pulling at my hands to push it in his mouth. I really hope this is a sign of things to come as both girls were so fussy DD1 moreso. But no success with longer night sleeping....maybe he needs 3 square meals a day before that will happen.
Oh and 6 mth immunisation shots tomorrow :( Xavier has been good the last couple of times - just a little scream/yelp at point of impact and then a cuddle and ok. Hopefully, all good tomorrow.
Xavier has added his first word to his vocabulary saying "bub" 'bub" "bub". Very cute...
Thanks heaps. I am actually feeling a lot better already. I went to bed when Isabelle had a nap and woke up feeling much better.
YAY!!!!
I think my supply has been a little low the last few days so really hoping the solids will help stretch out the feeds to help build it up again.
Yay, I found the new thread! :yelclap:
Hi Sam - YAY!! I lost the dec mummies thread for a little while when we switched over to the birth thread - did feel a little lost - hopefully we haven't any casualties in the changeover :)
Caden decided this morning that he would test his mummy and wanted to get up at 6am. No way, buddy! I went in and gave him his dummy, which managed to get another half hour or so out of him, but that was it. When is your DH home? I really notice it when my DH is away as he too helps with the kids in the am so I can have a little lie in. Every min counts these days!
Other than that Caden and I lazed around at home for most of the day. Actually I declared today as PJ day 'coz I didn't bother getting us both dressed til after midday . We went for a walk in the arvo to check the PO Box for DH, and that's about it.
that sounds like a great day! Maybe DVDs today help build up Caden's sensitive side with a few good chick flicks
Have a great day ladies....:flowerz:

I'm so excited...William just cut his first tooth yesterday!!! :smiliedance::smiliedance::smiliedance: The only problem is now he is the grumpiest thing in the world coz his gums are soooo sore. Poor darling, he (that means me too) haven't had a good sleep in ages :( but at least there is some progress from all the stress.
William loves to walk, he use to get grumpy when he was laying down and was happy when u sat him up now he is only happy if he is standing. He loves being able to see everything. He will walk if you give him balance. But still not crawling he gets up on his knees and arms and then flops back o his belly. On occassions he will bounce his knees forwards once before dropping back to his belly.
I'm jealous I'm lucky if I get an extra 5 mins when DH looks after bub, he thinks its fun to bring him into the room to play. GRRRR!!!
Well gotta go William calls. Hope everyone is going well.

Cowgirl - yay for Williams first tooth but sorry to hear that he has been unsettled for u. sounds like he is a very strong boy and will be crawling soon, how exciting!
Samilee - the weather was great yesterday, not to warm to walk around and lovely n sunny. and by chance its half price on Weds so it only cost $9 to get in w00t. As for solids, shes loving them, reaching out for the bowl and spoon. im going to start breakfast on the weekend yay
Pixiemum - glad to hear u feel better and that Isabelle let u get a nap in! ive had a bit of a sore tummy since Sunday and it sounds like gastro is definatly going around. Hows the dummy situation going? any progress?
Allgirls - aww thats so cute about Xavier saying 'bub bub' ! and thats great news hes loving his solids its such a crazy time, they are doing news things everyday
Having a really lazy day here today A was very tired yesterday and ended up having a nap from 5-730 when i woke her.

Widget - I'm sorry about Becca's fall. I know how awful it feels. Isabelle fell out of her rocker (which was on the dining table) and fel face down onto our tiles. She was swaddled but not strapped in .

Jackie:yelclap:for that sterling effort. Your fingers will need a Radox bath now..lol.
it's ok for me, writing is my trade, sorry to everyone else I guess.:)
Hope the cold has left your house for the winter. Nasty stuff. It's hard enough juggling yourself and a bub when everyone is healthy. Did your hubby have a 'man cold?'. Those are the worst:laughing:.
nah, although I'm not quite sure what you mean. he still had to work through it. i'm just glad he can touch the baby now without worry.
I even took Dane to the health centre..woohoo. (6905g, 77cms, 42.5 head..going great guns).
77cms long? that is huuuuuge. is his father a tall man?
Our cat Teddy is a 3yr old chocolate Burmese. She is an absolute sweetheart. Dh wouldn't say that since she fixated on him after her mate Tonka (cream Tonkinese) was run over and killed a year ago. She gets onto the bed a number of times during the night and pats hubby's cheek with her paw before settling down in the crook of his arm with her head under his chin. He reckons she is worse than a newborn bub for giving him broken sleep..lol.

http://picasaweb.google.co.uk/Amypen...79873882391090 (http://picasaweb.google.co.uk/Amypendragon/AmySPublicAlbum/photo?authkey=TbxMpDl92t4#5206379873882391090)
she sure is a spectacular cat. I'd like to get a purebred one day. never had one, would consider a british blue i think. Does Dane notice her? Odette is just starting to be VERY interested in our cats here. strains to pat them and is so far not to rough. The younger one of our cats has a ice temperament but the older one won't put up with any rough play. going to have to watch them together i think.
Geez, should have come to your house for tea..sounds yum! I feel like cr4p tonight so it was all I could do to make chicken nuggets and cook up store bought chips. My first thought was actually tinned spag on toast but then I remembered I had defrosted the chicken breast *sigh*.
this is the first time ever I have cooked everynight. This is because we live away from takeaway shops. I don't mind cooking but sometimes it can get a bit tedious and on those nights i tell DF that "we go our own way tonight". sometimes the look is enough for me to buckle.
How is your work going?
hectic, busy busy busy. That said I have put 2 x pay claims in over the last 2 days - 1 x 25 hours and 1 x 28 hours. so hopefully the bank balance will look impressive next week.
I meant to listen in to your show again but Monday nights seem to get caught up in homework/dishes/cooking etc and by the time I think of it it is too late. Are any of your shows archived on the radio station website?
yeah its on at a silly time. nah we don't record them... something about the cost of music rights and blah blah...
Starting to think I caught dh's whatever-it-is-virus.
I hope you didn't and hope you stay well.
The baby has started to get ore hungry recently and wanting bottle earlier than usual. We'll try solids again on the weekend and see how we go. i'm really thinking she might benefit from at least one meal a day. anyway, i guess she will decide when she's ready and thus I have to keep offering here and there...

here's some more...
Toy wise, A loves her dangling toys on her playgym even more now she sits up with them n has coversations. Other than that shes content to just have a plushie
I have a bouncer with a battery powered wizzo thing that i thought she had grown out of- i think she has but I might give it a go one last time. Odette loves her plush lion. She likes to look at the other ones she has but they dont entertain her for long. (unfortunately)
Your place sounds so great, being able to take Odette out to see your chickens! I bet she loves that!
she really does love all the animals we have - cats and chicks. she likes to inspect the premises and the animals and appears very interested in them. she loves to always look around as we are walking to check what is ahead and behind. she also likes o touch the leaves on the various trees and shrubs and stuff outside.
Andi is still doing great with her swimming. She closes her eyes when I give her the cue to go under the water and she kicks her legs! I also get big cuddles after each activity.
this is interesting to hear - odette just recently has beenf loating and kickinfg in the bathr ather than lying on her back, she actually kicks out of the sitting position. she will be very ready when we go in August. How often are you going? How long will you keep going? Is the place good?
Has anyone else noticed bub putting their arms wider when you hug them? Dane now spreads his arms out like he is trying to hug me back..awww.
yeah odette holds on to me differently now, but I still don't have the arms held out wanting to be picked up - looking forward to that one (when it happens).
Snake eater - It is exhausting trying to entertain them isn't it. They are just so frustrated wanting to do things but just cant.
that's it - they're always straining out to get something. which is fine but us adults sometimes just like to sit still.
On the homefront here Ava has been one busy little girl. It turns out that her really bad week last week was due to the fact that she has cut a tooth. It showed itself yesterday morning.
just the one tooth? I got told yesterday that they come in pairs (which is what happened to odette).
Thank goodness for that. also she is sitting by herself for long periods of time and when she is on her tummy she wriggles backwards. Pretty funny stuff as after a while she ends up with her feet under the entertainment unit and cant go any further so now I am forever moving her around.
clever girl. I know odette can move herself as I've found her in a weird spot in her cot from time to time but she doesnt seem to do this on the floor out here in the loungeroom area.
lol..she's dead keen then. We get curious looks more than physical demands. He only grabs my hand when he wants to bite on it
all i get here is "I can't believe you put that in my mouth, you are meant to be my mother/father/someone i can trust, look i'll give it a go but it's really pretty horrible, here try some yourself" [slides it down chin].
anyway that was replies to page one...
allgirls- awww...mady hasnt started "talking" just yet she does squeal alot tho and makes alot of noise!
Widg-I hope Becca is ok! Dont feel to bd all babies have accidents!
maverick- yay for first teeth! Mady still has none!
loulou- your Alyssa is so cute! thnks for sharing the pics!
pixie great photos nice to put a face with the name:)

sorry about all these big posts in one glut but I'm having to prioritise my time better - maybe it'd be better to post more ferequently but i find i gte too distracted anyhoo- sorry!
pixiemum - get well soon!
And oh how cute are the cuddles! Xavier likes to lean in and hold my face - must remember to regularly cut his fingernails as I do have a few scratch marks (given with love though )
I dont get the cuddles but i do get the scratches and she scratches herself a bit. I also get the hair pulling. someties we get the touching face in a nice way. I must have a word with her.
Caden decided this morning that he would test his mummy and wanted to get up at 6am. No way, buddy!
hahahahaha
recently odette is geting up at 6-6:30, rather than 7-7:30. I figure this is ok, I am a morning person anyway and usually can cope withit fairly well. looking forward to thelong weekend though, hopefully can bag me a coupla sleep ins (my sleep ins rarely go past 8-9am anyway)
Other than that Caden and I lazed around at home for most of the day. Actually I declared today as PJ day 'coz I didn't bother getting us both dressed til after middayI'm in PJs right now (Had a shower though). I live in the things if I don't have to go anyway.
Jackie
- Wow, what an impressive effort with the personals the other day, very impressed! How's working from home going? And how's Odette going? Still being a bit blah on the solids? I still haven't tried Caden on anything yet, other than a coupla rusks. He seems to love those, but I think it has more to do with chomping on something than actually tasting/ swallowing anything. And oh, BTW I didn't get to the bathroom, I knew that was being over zealous, but hey, the thought was there... haha!working from home is going ok, except I have to work a few hours on the weekend which is boring but hey i'd prefer that then trudging off to a workplace. This way we save $ on childcare, I get to see her all the time and I can set my own hours. Had a meeting the other day with the person I am working for and she was well impressed - this current thing i'm doing is reviewing all the state's Liquor Acts. FUN AHOY! I'm booked until mid-august at the moment and the coupla pays coming in next week will be a welcome reprieve.
Just a quick update! AF came today!!!! So I AM NOT PREGNANT! WOOHOO! I am relieved! :smiliedance:
what a rollercoaster that was - glad it worked out the way you wanted it to.
I have some pics from yesterday of Alyssa enjoying her day at the zoo :)

you can tell she is your baby. wow what a likeness - cute too!
pixiemum- your photos are great too. Max surehas a glint in his eye hasnt he?
reckon it's a steak night tonight, can't really be bothered with anything else. going to try and get some game time in tonight, it's so hard when the baby wakes up around 6ish - this means i really should be in bed by 10pm. therefore i get some tiny amount of time to play the game. soooooooooooooo frustrating. luckily the baby is completely adorable and worth it though hey?;)

Hey everyone!!
DJ - Wow, you must be tingling inside. Keep us posted with the news on Monday!! I'm quite envious of you...I think I'll be trying for #2 sooner rather than later...just got to get AF back!!!
All going well here - we're having a staircase installed at the moment so it's been a bit noisy and full on this week. The builders are almost done - should be finished by next Tuesday. Woo Hoo.
It's been raining non stop here in Sydney this week. Hoping for some sun over the weekend, but I think I'm kidding myself. :rain:
Have a great long weekend everyone :flowerz:

Gonna be a quick one cause I feel :barf:. Selia was home again today which upsets my weekday routine and brings added work..and then I had to chaperon the junior school disco this evening. Can't wait til boybee has his last feed so I can go to bed. So much to do but no energy to do it.
Dane's height:...well..umm..*blushes furiously*. I wondered what you were all going on about until I looked back to what I had posted. He is only 67cms not 77cms (darned typo). It didn't even register when I re-read it..lol.
OK..that's about it for now except:
DJ: Congrats..commiserations..congrats again. It's horrid when you haven't got a clear answer and your body is sending mixed messages. Monday is too far away though..I want to know NOW..lol. Will be hanging for you to post on Monday.
Sorry lovelies..really feel awful. Did check out your pics etc..xlouxloux: Alyssa looks like you and you both look far too young..lolol (says me who feels 100 today).
Pixiemum2: lovely pics..you're a good looking bunch:yes:..it really is lovely putting a face to the posts.
Maverick_Cowgirl: :yelclap:for William's new tooth. Hope he settles soon.
Hugs to Jo, Jackie, Sam, Brodie, Widget, Sarah, Fiona..and to all the other fabulous women in this forum..love you all.

Phew! I seriously thought you had a giant there Amy... hehehe! 67cm makes more sense, so around the same as Caden. Must admit after reading that I was worried that maybe Caden was really behind in his growing. Funny enough I even mentioned to my mum today about how I thought that Caden was behind the 8 ball in the height dept in comparison to others. I feel better now :D.

Ditto! DH and I can't wait to TTC#2, but first things first, I have to wait for AF to arrive too. Having said that, DH and I were talking about it and I think we are going to wait til beginning of next year to TTC. That way I'll go back to work part-time, earn some extra $$$ whilst I'm pregnant and then I can take maternity leave again. That's one great thing about my employer, get 12 weeks paid leave. I know, sneaky sneaky to take maternity leave again so soon, but hey, I've worked for them for over 10 years so I think I deserve it :D.

Are you having reno's done Prudie? How exciting!!! (And messy... I've been there done that, so know how much fun it can be... not! Haha! I hope the tradies finish on time).

Thx for the sympathy Jackie :p. I am soooooooooo not a morning person. When DH is not here it means that I have no choice but to get up if Caden decides to wake early. He did it again this morning, and hate to say it, I had a bit of a yell at him, telling him that he doesn't love his mummy 'coz he's not letting her sleep :o. Mmm... I don't think he understood tho'...
I'm in PJs right now (Had a shower though). I live in the things if I don't have to go anyway.
I try to get out of my jimmy-jams sooner rather than later otherwise I feel like a slob. Mind you I go from PJ's to trackies, so still nice and comfy.

Yay, more pics! I love pics!!! And yes, I too have to say there's a resemblance with you and Alyssa. What a cutie! She looks like she enjoyed the outing as well as the avocado (I assume that green stuff is avocado... hehe!)
I'm so excited...William just cut his first tooth yesterday!!!
Yay for William!!! Yet another Dec bubba getting teeth. Caden is a bit slow in the teeth dept... haha!
Oh and 6 mth immunisation shots tomorrow. Xavier has been good the last couple of times - just a little scream/yelp at point of impact and then a cuddle and ok. Hopefully, all good tomorrow.
Good luck with the shots, I'm sure Xavier will be more than fine.
Xavier has added his first word to his vocabulary saying "bub" 'bub" "bub". Very cute...
Aaawww, how cute is that! It's amazing how all our bubbas are achieving different milestones at different times. Caden just laughs and does his baby mumbo-jumbo, not even close to words (tho' that hasn't stopped me from going "mum-mum-mum" to him. DH and I are in a bit of a competition to see which he says first, mum-mum or dad-dad... hopefully as I have the extra alone time with Caden and can repeat mum-mum to him, he'll pick it up and I'll win... haha!).
that sounds like a great day! Maybe DVDs today help build up Caden's sensitive side with a few good chick flicks
Never thought of that, great idea Sharon! Tho' I might have to keep it a secret between Caden and myself as I don't think his dad would be too fond of him watching soppy chick-flicks... hehe!!!
*sob*
Becca had her first fall... She's got a big red bump on her forehead from coming off the lounge...
*sob*
I know exactly how you feel. Caden did a semi back-flip the other day whilst standing next to the couch. I tried to dive in and break his fall but I'm not that fast... haha! Thankfully the encounter didn't leave any permanent damage. He had a bit of a red mark but within half hour it had gone. But like others have said, there will be more of these to come yet so I suppose we should get use to it (as hard as it will be, no-one likes to see their bubba hurt).
Hey, looky here people, I have taken lessons from Jackie with my posting :p. I better hit the submit button before I loose it!

Well people, I'm happy to say that I have taken my first serious step into trying to get my pre-pregnancy body back... I did a 'combat' class tonight with my sister. I survived, just, but boy, I've also realised how very VERY unfit I am . And the wobbly bits when I jumped around, never had any of those before !!! Especially the boobs, man they hurt as they bounced around. I think I may have to try and find some sort of maternity sports bra (if they exist ) before I go and do another class.
And I'm also happy to say that not one piece of chocolate has passed these lips this whole week either. Man, now that's an achievement and a half. I think with Caden turning 6 months this month it has made me realise that I need to take some drastic action to loose the flab. Hence the aerobics and no chocolate :D.
But there you go, tho' you probably really didn't need to know that. But my way of thinking is if I put it out in the world then *hopefully* it will be more incentive for me to continue. I really don't want to be posting in a few weeks time about how dismal I've been and stopped the exercise :o.
That way I'll go back to work part-time, earn some extra $$$ whilst I'm pregnant and then I can take maternity leave again. That's one great thing about my employer, get 12 weeks paid leave. I know, sneaky sneaky to take maternity leave again so soon, but hey, I've worked for them for over 10 years so I think I deserve it :D.
like others have said, there will be more of these to come yet so I suppose we should get use to it (as hard as it will be, no-one likes to see their bubba hurt).
I went back to work 3 weeks before Annabelle turned 1, I was 3 months pregnant... Worked 4 days a week for 6 months, took Maternity leave again and here I am... I've only been there 5 years though (helps to be younger too :p)
I know it's the first of many... Annabelle has only had 2 tumbles and 2 head smacks and she's nearly 2!! So naturally I'm unsure what to do, Mum's taught me how to check for concussion so I'm more relaxed about it now... The first head smack Annabelle had she put 2 slices into her tongue with her teeth... Not pretty... Oh, she's had 3, only 2 while in my care though... And when Annabelle rolled off the bed, she landed on clothes on the carpet, not on bare floorboards!!! Oh damn, she's come off the stairs too - That was DF's fault, I wasn't there and he missed her!! Off the stairs straight onto her back on the concrete - that HAD to hurt!!!
Anyhoo... Must away and have this coffee before I can jump in the shower to get started for the day - Spina Bifida Appt today and checking out 2 childcare centres...
Hi All, sorry in a rush...

ge well soon Amy - no fun at all!
Sam - yeah i should really try to get back to some sort of fitness level. re: mornings - what about sunrises (not talking about that horrible tv show)? I love the freshness of a morning and the accompanying sunrise, as I drove to the shops this morning it seriously took my breath away. amazing. People have different body clocks though clearly, i am useless at staying up late - even though i was a student for many many years i never once pulled an all nighter - the best i could do was work until 11pm. Seriously i'd prefer to set alarm for 6am than stay up until 2am if I had to get work done.
widget - hope your day goes well.
well today i have decided I have had enough and am going to play my game when odette is down for a sleep (hmm like right now, but I still find myself online) - mind you i have put a load of washing in and no doubt will tend to the kitch as well. so anyway maybe a bit of game time. feeling like ive been hard at it recently and deserve some me time.
twas 6 degrees outside this morning as I nipped down to the shops... sun out now though, looks good.
where's alpha gone i wonder - hpope you're ok out there! same to others that havent posted in a while...
hope your fridays go well.

Widget - I love your avatar, what a beautiful pic!!! I hope all goes well with your appt today and good luck looking at child care centres.
Sam - Yay for you getting out to a class! I am feeling quite flabby so need to get my bum into gear and do some exercise. I also used to try and eat really healthy food now I have been baking heaps of cakes and muffins so I eat them heaps . I cant resist!
Amy - :hugs: I hope you are starting to feel a bit better. Its awful to feel sick, especially with all the running around you are doing.
DJ - I hope things work out for you, Monday must seem so far away at the moment :hugs:
Pixiemum - beautiful pics. Its great being able to put a face to a name.
Lou - Alyssa looks so cute, especially eating her lunch! It looks like you guys had a fun day out!
Jackie - I hope you get your gaming in today! I know with DH once he gets into a game he wants to play as much as he can.
Well I always say this lately, but Andi is really peaking with her teething, yesterday and last night she was so upset and her cheeks were red and I found it really hard to keep her happy. Her bottom gum is really swollen so please come through soon teethies :fingerscrossed:
I had better get on with the washing. Have a good day.
Hi all.
katesmate - I hope those teeth come through for Andi. It is horrible when they are screaming with pain.
snake eater - Only one tooth here. The second one will probably be not too far away. (I hope so anyway)
samilee - I have been thinking as well about trying to get fit. I feel like such a frump. I have promised myself to try and go for a walk at least everyday for half an hour. Last week I had a nice big walk then came home and rewarded myself with a chocky biscuit!!! (I have no control). On the TTC and maternity leave we were thinking the same thing. One thing I did say to DH is that there is no way that I am going to be due with bub #2 in the summer. With Ava I blew up like a baloon. The only shoes I could wear were thongs and massuer sandles!!! Very attractive office attire!
Amy - hope you feel better soon and the bug gets out of your house.
Louise - Alyssa looks like a little cutie. Glad to hear you enjoyed your day out.
DJ - good luck with the doctors
Hope all the other mummas out there are having a great day. We are having a nice quiet one although it is such a beautiful day I am looking forward to going for a bit of a walk and enjoying the sunshine.

Hiya everyone
I hope we are all having a great day. I think my lil' man must be going throw a growth spurt or something 'coz he is having some big sleeps during the day. Gotta remember we call him our '30 minute wonder' as he literally does not have any longer day sleeps than 30 minutes . But yesterday he had a huuuuuuuuuuge sleep for nearly 2 and a half hours. And today, so far he's slept from 8:30am thru to mid-day. Had his lunch and is now just gone back down again. Must be a growth spurt... :detective:
Anyway, here's a coupla picks of Caden that DH took last weekend before he left for Adelaide >>> http://leonshaffer.blogspot.com/2008/06/caden-friday-3.html
Actually I took some pics today of my lil' man whilst he laid in his cot, so I'll have to get them on the computer and post a coupla of those too
Take care everyone, and for those of you that are about to embark on a long weekend... :p. Only joking, only seems fair you guys have one this week considering us WA folk had our's last weekend.

Have a lovely weekend everyone!!!!!!!!
yswoman- I agree..I read 77 cm and thought wow what a really big boy!
Sammilee- good for you making time for yourself to get back in shape! its important! I got back to 53 kilos 2 months after I had Madison, but I still have wobbly bits I need to tone...hard to make the time with 5 kids tho! Im thinking of getting a gym membership or somthing! Oh and great pics thanks for sharing..Caden is so cute and has the prettiest blue eyes :D
katesmate-:fingerscrossed: your little one gets her teeth in soon...its no fun watching our babies having to be so uncomfortable while they come in!
Hi to louou, avababy, snakeater, widget and hello to anyone else I have missed!
Af has come full force so I am happy to report FINALLY that i am not pregnant! Happy the rollercoaster ride is over!! Sorry to keep you all in suspense! :o
well hope you all have a nice weekend! I will be home all weekend we are potty training Aidan at the moment, hopefully it wont be to difficult!
I may not be going back to work in July after all...
The childcare centre near work was a bust, none of us liked it... We didn't get to look at the other one, will look next time DF has a day off work...
I did walk around to the local Pre-school and made some enquiries and put them on the waiting list so now just have to wait for those to become available. If they go there, I won't be able to start work before 9:30am I can see the fights I'm gonna get in at work with that start time. DF will have to make sure he can always get them by 6pm too coz If I start at 9:30, I can't finish til 6pm, so I'll miss dinner with them every day which upsets me, but we need the $$...
And hey, who knows, they may not be able to get in the 3 days I need and we could be stuffed for good and not be able to get married... Really need the full 15 months for saving or it's not happening, I can't possibly do it for under $9k, I'm finding it rather difficult keeping it to $9k and my dress is only $500, we got discounts on our venue, my flower are only $350 in TOTAL...
Oh well, I'm gonna crawl back into bed before the girls both want breakfast...
Oh, I should update on A's appointment!!
We have to go back again in 6 months... Have a developmental assessment around Oct (Physio said Aug, but Pam put Oct) and we have to see the neurosurgeon in a couple of weeks... So nowhere near what I thought... I was hoping it would be, yep, all good and we'll see you next year... Oh and the speech pathologist will be at the assessment... :( I'm actually rather sad about it all, there is talk of her needing another MRI as well...

Sam - Well done on your excercise/diet changes. I have lots of wobbly bits too and I said to DH tonight "look at my stomach, I think I must be pregnant again!". I can't wait until she is weaned and I can diet! Cute pics, love the look in his eyes .
Katesmate - Ow, I hope her teeth come through soon. Maybe thats Isabelle's problem lately?
Louise - Phuket hey? Lucky you. We are off to Airlie Beach in two weeks :yelclap:. Can't wait. Although I will be minus DH for 4 days as he is sailing a boat up from Brisbane .
DJ - I'm glad you finally know for sure that you aren't pregnant. I hate the not knowing.
Widget - Sorry about A's appointment :hugs:.
Not much happening here today. Isabelle has been ok and actually went to bed WITHOUT crying. I might book in with a health nurse next week because I am concerned about my supply/her feeding so frequently/lack of weight gain.
Proud to announce that Max learnt the F word today thanks to DH! He kept saying it perfectly over and over again while playing with his etcher sketcher. but :shame: at the same time.

Bec - My DD1 is nearly 2 so similar age to Max and she has also learnt to say that word. First I tried to ignore it, then I noticed that did not make a difference so I tried to explain that it is naughty, but I am sure she knows that anyway. So last night she was saying it to DH and he said to her 'oh you mean frog', trying hard to get her to stop saying f, and frog instead. Its working so far, but then she said the s word, so we are working on replacing that one with sheep!:no::hair:.
I had another tricky night getting Andi to settle and I was supposed to be going to see SATC tomorrow night but dont think I will be able to with Andi being so unsettled . Ahhhh well, best to wait till its on DVD.

I am supposed to be cleaning cleaning cleaning. Put in a solid day yesterday washing curtains and doing windows. Gotta love the bi-annual inspection..at least we sit in a pristine house for a week or two..lol. Gotta find a way to keep it going longer.
DJ: It's strange days when you first get AF back after a bub. I must admit that I found it off-putting when the second one came at day 30..highly unusual. This third one didn't come til day 32..bizarre..and I did slightly entertain ideas of being pg at the time but I could feel the underlying AF feelings so just muddled on til she came. Glad things are resolved for you. Has this uncertainty made you consider another?
Pixiemum2 and Katesmate: I had to laugh at your sons language. I don't swear often but one time I let one rip in frustration (at the sliding door) two year old Lachlan picked up on it really well:yes:. It was the same word you two have experienced but with 'er' on the end. He was so pleased with himself, repeating it over and over, he got the frustrated sound down pat too. We tried to convince him it was pronounced differently (trucker, mucker, focker) but he had heard all too well. Thankfully it had died out and was forgotten before he had the chance to say it to an elderly relative:eek:.
Snake eater: How did the 'me time' go? Did you get a good workout on your game?
I was a night person til I fell pg with Dane. Now I relish my overnight sleep. Don't you just love getting up early though when all is quiet?
Enjoy the down time on this long weekend.
Avababy: Good luck in timing the next birth outside of summer. I covered all four seasons with my four. Three got to be in long sleeves and blankets as newborns but Dane lived in nappy, singlet, and muslin wrap.
Oh and that last trimester in the heat..ugggh..we can all relate.
Hope you get a winter one next time..at least you have the last trimester in autumn and that is bearable.
Louise: Wow..a big overseas trip. How fantastic! Can I come too? lol. I hope Alyssa loves the water.
Widget: How are you feeling about the thought of returning to work? I hope you can find good childcare. Have you considered Family Day Care?
Sam: The pics of Caden were stunning as usual. Don't you just love it when the eyes photograph vibrantly? Most of the pics I take make Dane's eyes look washed out. Does your dh have any tips he can share? Other than getting a Nikon 300 (??) and doing a photography degree that is..lol.
Hope you get some more of those long sleeps. Boybee has started having 3hr naps..but then last night he had a big nap before his night sleep and then woke at midnight for another feed *sigh*.
Dane's fave game now is saying ahhhh while I move the side of my finger up and down really fast between his lips. He gets crooked on me when I stop..lol. He says bub-bub and we think he was saying dad-dad last night but he isn't consistent enough yet.
Anyway, this isn't getting the lounge room sorted or the oven cleaned so I had best away.
Hugs to everyone on this wonderful weekend.

Lazy day today :) Alyssa was very tired yesterday n ended up falling asleep after 60ml of her last bottle (oops!) i heard her awake at 3am but she went back down by herself n didnt get up properly till 740am.
Shes on 3 meals a day now, she started getting unsettled around an hr after a feed, she still loves her veggies but its a no no for fruit, tried apple n banana but she spits it out hehe. now im confused cos i dont know what to give her for brekky? can i give her oats yet? made with formula of course
Amy - u definatly deserve a treat after ur cleaning today. We had heaps of washing to do, done about 5 loads over the weekend  for 3 ppl kinda nuts. How exciting hearing bub talk. i think ill cry when i hear A say something ehehe. Ur pic isnt showing up, comes up with an error :(
Katesmate - sorry u didnt get to see ur movie! are they showing at a mums n bubs session at all? lots of bubs will be making noise so u wont feel bad if Andi is unsettled at all.
Pixie - sorry i had a bit of a laugh about ur DH. Mums always on about my language, infact my new yrs res was to stop swearing but its not really happened. hopefully ur DS will forget it soon. wheres Airlie beach?
DJ - finally some closure huh!! how come the preg test came up positive though? just goes to show ya they aint always accurate. Hows the crawling coming along?
Widget - sorry to hear the childcare centre was a bust. I agree with Amy though maybe look into Family Day Care. Sounds like u have a great budget going for ur wedding and ur not going over the top. what kind of flowers are u having?
mmm having a lovely stew for dinner tonight with dumplings MY FAVE!

Cool she went back to sleep Louise. Even an extra hour or two really makes a difference to how you function for the day.
can i give her oats yet? made with formula of course
Porridge? Absolutely. Might be a little bland though but not any worse than Farex I guess.
Ur pic isnt showing up, comes up with an error
Should work now. I think the site was down earlier on.
mmm having a lovely stew for dinner tonight with dumplings MY FAVE!
Oh..my absolute favourite winter meal..stew and dumplings. Pity the rest of the family don't share my passion. I have two different stews frozen in single portions and winter only started a week ago..lol.
Fed boybee the potato, broccoli, and carrot I threw in with the silverside tonight and thinned it with the water it was cooked in. After the funniest face I have ever seen, he actually hoed in and polished off a few teaspoons worth:smiliedance:. Told dh that he is on nappy duty tomorrow though as I think it will be a doozy:laughing:.
The kids are still up because it is cracker weekend and the neighbourhood is noisy, but very pretty:yes:. There is a curfew but very few ppl seem to stick to it..lol. Always a few isolated pops and bangs just as your head hits the pillow.
OK..off to tidy the bookcases and then bed.
Enjoy the day off tomorrow.

Hi ladies,
Isabelle went to her first birthday party today. I was supposed to go with DS and DH as well but DS has come down with and awful cold. We had fun though and it was good to be out with her. She didn't cry like I thought she would and she actually let someone hold her while I had a drink and some food.
No more F words from Max today
Amy - I remember my mum making dumplings when I was a kid! I loved them! It's funny how I love all the things that I used to hate as a kid like shepherds pie and meatloaf . Isabelle loves being nude too. Glad you fund a way to get him to do some tummy time.
Louise - Airlie Beach is 300km south of Townsville. It's the coast part of the Whitsunday Islands. Maybe I will try Isabelle with vegies tomorrow instead of fruit. We aren't having much luck. MIL is constantly telling DH to stop swearing around Max. I have more of a potty mouth than DH though so it's funny that he picked it up from DH. I don't usually say the F word though.
As I said above we aren't having any luck with the apple still. Although today I probaly got 1/2 teaspoon into her . The face she pulls though is a cracker .
I cooked up the lactation cookies (recipe posted in breastfeeding section) and they are so yummy. Even if they don't help with my supply I don't mind eating them. It has been a bit better today with the feeding. She has had a few good feeds and hasn't been screaming inbetween for more. Hopefully she will sleep a bit longer tonight. Last night after she went down at 7pm she then woke up at 10:30pm (has been doing this for 3-4 days), again at 2:30am then again at 5am :hair:.

Bec: glad you had a good day out with Isabelle..but hope your ds gets better quickly.
I am guessing Isabelle will be ready when she is ready..lol. Keep trying with different foods though. You just never know which day she will take to it.
I have been to Airlie Beach when we lived in T'ville. It was lovely and unspoiled back then (the early 80's). Hope it is still the same now.
Umm..errr..about those lactation biscuits..TOO YUMMY! lol. I ate about six the first day I made them. I still make them two months after giving up bf'ing just because they are so yum!
Speaking of which. I stopped expressing a week ago and it has been tough going in the bb dept..very sore, particularly when boybee feeds right up next to them. I keep having hot showers and trying not to think of them (a dr once told me that..lol). Hope the urge to empty goes away soon.
Off to bed.
Night.

Ok its settled Alyssa is a lil piggy hehe she scoffs her solids hey, eats like 2 tbs id say, is there a limit to how much she should have? i dont want to overfeed her. shes happy though, never looks stuffed i guess. gah its so hard being new to all this so many questions i want to ask about everything. every book/broucher says different things about solids, my CHN said by 8months they should be able to have sandwhiches yet books say itshould be mash still. im going crazy! hehe
Amy - thanks for the info about oats. yay! might try it tomorrow :)
Bec - hope ur DS gets better soon and glad to hear no more swears! Today was A's first try with Apple and she pulled the most disgusted face was so amusing, yet with sweet potato she wolfs it. the beach sounds beautiful and very relaxing. Will it be Isabelle's first trip to the beach? im all but relaxed thinking about Phuket, theres the water situation, food the long plane ride! oh lord im crazy.
Alyssa has been great today, very happy, hungry, 2 1/2 hr nap angel. she gave me the fright of my life today, sitting on my lap facing away from me n i had my hands resting on her hips n suddenly she SHOOTS up onto her feet n leans forward i had to reach out to catch her, i swear my heart lept out of my mouth n she was just giggling away oblivious to the fact i had a mini heart attack. i think ill have to hold onto her tighter now she has so much strength in her legs.
oops thats enough of my blabbing on. enjoy ur public holiday tomorrow east siders!! off shopping with a friend myself then netball at night :)
yswoman- thanks! yeah it was stressful not knowing for sure...and Im still sure I wont be trying for anymore kids! We are lucky to have the 5 healthy happy kids we have..and I think 5 is the magic number for our family:)
pixiemum- Hope your DS gets to feeling better soon..Madison had a cold a couple weeks ago...she was miserable! thankfullly she is better now! so nice Isabelle got to go to her first birthday party:)
loulou- Im not sure what was up with the + tests! tho they were light...maybe a faulty batch I dont know:confused:
Oh and as far as babyfeeding goes...madison is having 2-3 full Jars a day along wtih 4-5 bottles of formula..If that help you at all...
And yeah by 8 months most babies are on some solid foods...maybe not all babies tho think it just depends, all of mine were eating some regular solid foods at that age ( cheese, bananas, toast and things)
Madison is coming along well with her crawling...tho she still prefers to sorta comando crawl...she sure gets around quick tho! She is also starting to climb! SCARY! She attempts to climb over/ on everything! She is getting very stubborn when it come to sleeping...she pinches, scratches, screams and does anything she can to stay awake...poor DH just can not even get her to have a sleep anymore...so its all up to me now!
Was planning to go see the SATC movie this week..but thinking I might have to wait as I am so busy this week already! Im trying to potty train Aidan and its not going to well! Hoping to make some progress soon:fingerscrossed: Well I best be off to make brekkie for the kids and Im taking Aidan to get his haircut this morning as well...it will be dramatic Im sure...he hates getting his hair cut! Hope you all have a great day!
According to the govt body in charge of the childcare register there isn't any family day care in either area...
Sorry, surviving on very little sleep, not thinking, but wanted to respond - it's about all I can remember from my 1am reading...

Hi all,
Isabelle now has Max's cold and spent the whole night in our bed . We didn't get much sleep. She can't feed very well as her nose is so blocked. I hope this doesn't push my supply over the edge. It's already borderline. I am expressing when she doesn't eat though so hopefully that will keep it going.
I think she is settling a lot better without her dummy though when she goes down for a nap and to bed in the evening . I'm not sure what to do with her when she wakes in the night though. I end up having to feed her even though it was only a few hours from her last feed. Oh well, I know she will grow out of it and I just have to give her time.
Amy - Airlie Beach is no way unspoiled now. It has had major development and the whole hillside if full of resorts/hotels. They have built a massive salt water lagoon which is fantastic though. They are in the middle of building a new marina and are also about to build a cinema. Lots of development. There are still a lot of backpackers though. I can't stop eating those biscuits! You're not getting any lumps are you in your breasts from weaning? I hope not :fingerscrossed:.
Louise - It wil be Isabelle's first trip to Airlie Beach. Max has been once (and one in the womb). I think you will be fine going to Phuket. Having a 5-6 month old baby is a lot more manageable than a two year old! She'll probably sleep the whole way .
DJ - 2-3 jars a day? Oh my goodness! I wish I could get Isabelle to eat. She hates anything in he mouth besides my booby .
As I said to DJ above. I have still been trying to get Isabelle to eat. I tried pumpkin and potato today but this time, as well as screwing up her face and spitting it out, she gagged then spewed. Totally not ready! I might try again in a week.
Are you mums giving solids cooking the food up or are you buying jars?
Bec
hi all. A nice miserable cold day here today so we are enjoying a quiet afternoon watching the mighty pies play!!! although DH goes for the hawks. I think Ava has cut her second bottom tooth. She is still having some upset nights waking 11.30 - feed, 1am - just a settle then 5.30am. I am getting used to it. Thank goodness my dh got up to her at 7.30 this morning to play whilst mummy had a little sleep in. Funny thing too is he had to change her first poo nappy (will change wet ones but not the other). Very funny. I was in bed a pretended I was asleep when I heard him yell out that she had a dirty nappy. Evil I know but I figured he had to cop one sooner or later.
Bec - reading how Isabelle is waking so much have you considered she may be teething. She sounds exactly how Ava was before her first tooth came through. Hope it settles for you soon. I know how you are feeling!
louise - lucky you Phuket. We were suppost to go there for our honeymoon but bali bombings happened two weeks before our wedding so we ended up going to Palm cove. DH and I still would love to get over there. I hope you have a ball.
Amy - good luck with the cleaning and the inspection.
djwebb - madison sounds like she is keeping you busy. I cant wait until Ava learns how to get around a little better.
Best go the girl is a callin me. Hi to all the mums I have not mentioned. Have a great day.

went out to buy odette a new toy on the weekend but didnt really find anything that looked right. there was this one thing that was close...
in good news - odette ate some fruit custard today! at least she actually swallowed it. this is the first food she has done this with - typicaly it's a store bought heinz thingy. got sugar added to it.
i dunno. anyway it's progress. hopefully fromt his she can learn how to eat other foods.

Avababy - It could well be her teeth. That is ONE of my theories . I keep checking everyday for the talltale slit but nada. Your DH is doing well, mine hasn't even changed a normal nappy on Isabelle!:shame:
Snake eater - What sort of toy are you after? I'm not worried if the baby food is homemade or jar. I'm just curious which tastes better. I think the jar ones are blander?

we lost netball :( doh! but we were 3 players down at first so we had to recruit girls from the game before ours n were penalised (3 goals) for each girl not in our uniform. but it was fun! got the heart pumping :D
Went shopping today n got some cute overalls for Alyssa from Millers (of all places!) there just plane denim, unisex me thinks, but ive been searching for some since she was born! love love them.
No teeth yet but lots of drooling and chomping and a few moments of unsettlement.
Avababy - good on ya making ur DH change Ava! naw more teeth! i bet its cute when she grins n theres lil white toothies!
Bec - woweee id be making DH change bub hehe but im mean like that ;)
Snakeeater - Im sure the jars are all good, i mean it is heinz, its just the cost factor that puts me off. Im sure it will get Odette used to swollowing though, definatly a good thing! :)
Widget - hope ur managing to get some sleep in :hugs:

Evening all,
Hope those that had a public holiday today enjoyed. It was a wet ol' day here in the west. Nothing too exciting to report on. DH had the day off so we spent the morning together just lounging around at home. After lunch we popped out, we went to Toys R Us and bought Caden a rocker/seat. I have been using my sister's rocker since Caden was born but he seems to be getting too long for it now. So hopefully this one that we bought will see him through, it's designed to also convert into a toddler seat so he shouldn't outgrown it :fingerscrossed:. We also popped into a baby store to look at highchairs. Still need to get Caden one. We were looking at the Tripp Trapp as we like the idea of it being a seat in the future but it's just a lot of $$$ so a bit hesitant.
OK, some personals...
Louise - Oh, shopping! I loooooooooove shopping! Those overalls sound oh so cute. I love lil' girls in overalls but boys, nah (sorry to any mums who put their boy bubbas in overalls :D).
Jackie - Yay for Odette actually swallowing some solids, albeit jarred fruit custard. It's a start! How's your game playing?
Avababy - Another tooth? Yay! Mmm... there seems to be a bit of tooth activity with Dec bubbas. Me thinks my bubba is slow in this department. No signs of teeth emerging whatsoever. He's still chomping on things the same as he has for the past coupla months, still drooling the same amount too. Oh well, he might be one of those bubbas that don't get their first tooth til nearer 12 months than 6 months .
Bec - I hope Isabelle gets better real soon. Nothing worse than seeing your bubs struggle. Caden was the same a coupla months back with his stuffed up nose and being unable to feed properly. I brought some Fess saline drops and the 'booger sucker'-thingy, and it did wonders. So if you haven't tried this then I would definitely recommend giving it a go .
Widget - I hope you can sort out the things you need to so you're able to get back to work and start saving for your wedding. It's horrible when you plan to do something and there are obstacles in the way!
DJ - OMG, climbing already?! Wow, go Madison!!! Don't you just love the commando crawl? My niece did that and it was so cute. Caden hasn't attempted it, he's still stuck on the rolling. I find that if Caden wants to get from one end of his play mat to the other he rolls. He's even mastered doing it at 'high speed'. Really must get it on tape...
Amy - Oh, those pics of Dane doing nuddy tummy time are so cute! How'd the house inspection go?
Jo - Bummer that you couldn't get out to see SATC (naughty Andi :p). Actually I went and saw it last night with my sisters. I would consider myself a huge fan of the show, and was so hanging out for the movie, and TBH I was a little disappointed with the movie. Don't get me wrong, I enjoyed it and it was great to see the gals back together, but I could have easily waited til it came out on DVD.
Well, no teeth action here or solid action either. Pretty boring, huh? I did buy some farex on Saturday with the groceries so I might give that a go soon. Not in any rush, probably will try him on it more for curiosity than anything.
And to those that have DH/DF/DP's that don't change bums, what the???!!! Maybe I'm mean, but that wouldn't be happening here. My DH does his fair share of nappies, both just wet ones and big smelly pooey ones... haha! And he has right from the beginning. He didn't even try to get out of it or make excuses. Mmm... maybe I am mean as he knew it wasn't even worth trying to get out of it as he knew he'd lose that battle.
Well, I think that's it for me. Hi to all of those that I didn't get to personals. There seems to be a coupla regulars that have been MIA for a while... I hope all is OK.
Chat again soon.
Sam...

Good Morning Ladies,
Gosh the week (& especially weekend!) goes quick! The wet weather hung around all long weekend so not much fun for the girls - we all go a little stir-crazy being cooped up all day/night. STill no teeth here with Xavier, has been doing ok with the farex and still no crawling other then commando shimmy. We'll see what this weeks brings....
DJWebb - at last we all know! I bet you are soooooo relieved. Any "wins" with Aidan's toilet training?? DD2 is 27mths so would like to start soon but she just doesn't seem anywhere near ready. DD1 was toilet trained by the same age - no problems there even at night. We've only got new carpet so really want to look after it :). Madison is just going great guns - solids & crawling/climbing! Xavier has a couple tablespoons of plain farex a day nowhere near having 2-3 jars! Crikey!
pixiemum - how is Isabelle? Little baby colds are terrible especially when their little noses are congested & they can't breath properly when trying to feed. On the upside - YAY for no dummy hopefully she'll learn to forget about it at night too. Don't you feel bad when they vomit! - DD1 did that too also with pumpkin I felt so bad as I had forced a couple of spoonfuls in when she wasn't ready.... never again.
avababy - YAY for ava with her new tooth. Xavier's teeth have settled down again - just little bumps there again...come on! That's funny about your DH with nappies - my DH had no choice I got him straight into changing nappies in the hospital poo & all!
Amy - how did the inspection go? Photos of Dane are sooo cute.
snakeeater -YAY for Odette eating something! Have you tried the baby yoghurt? DD1 was on yoghurt for weeks as it was the only thing she would eat - easy to swallow I guess.
xlouxloux - sorry about your netball loss. I used to play representative netball but ended up having a knee reconstruction so kind of put at end to it for me. I loved the game - so much fun and great exercise. I try to do pilates every now and then but doesn't really compete again some contact sport :D The little denim overalls sound soooo cute! What a great buy.
Sammilee - I too need to get a new rocker/chair thingy for Xavier. THe one I had for the girls died the other day (too many monkeys jumping on it!). I've got a Tripp Trapp chair that I really don't like. I bought it too thinking that it would "grow" with the girls. But as it doesn't have a tray you need to push it in against your own dining table/kitchen bench etc. The only problem is that it doesn't tuck nicely under either of those things here so a bit useless here. We ended up buying another cheapie high chair with tray which I use all the time. So check it out first as it is alot of $$$
Nothing much planned for the day here - off to infant Jazz classes this afternoon for DD1 but that's about it. Really must start thinking about getting some washing done - wet weather is really staying put..
Hope everyone has a good day..& hi to all the mummies I have missed ..:flowerz:

thanks for the warning, odette has flung herself back once before while i was holding her, managed to catch her but yeah gotta keep yoru wits about you. these bubs are getting stronger and stronger each day.
Oh and as far as babyfeeding goes...madison is having 2-3 full Jars a day along wtih 4-5 bottles of formula..If that help you at all...
ok. and there I was thinking a third of the tiny can of custard might be too much. it didnt seem to dull her appetite any.

glad to hear (for my sake) that odette is not the only baby who hates most foods. Obviously I
m not glad for you, but you know what i mean, I hope. We also gave odette a break for a few days and then tried again.
I've got some vegies in the freezer ready to try again soon. I'm hoping to give her fresh vegies as its no trouble and probably cheaper.
anyway i'm going to continue with the one feed a day for a few days hoping to consolidate what she's already doing and then try again to branch out on the weekend.
i'll be back to finish off the personals.

I think Ava has cut her second bottom tooth. She is still having some upset nights waking 11.30 - feed, 1am - just a settle then 5.30am. I am getting used to it. Thank goodness my dh got up to her at 7.30 this morning to play whilst mummy had a little sleep in.
:hugs: for you. and yay for your sleep in.
Avababy - It could well be her teeth. That is ONE of my theories . I keep checking everyday for the talltale slit but nada. Your DH is doing well, mine hasn't even changed a normal nappy on Isabelle!:shame:
I wonder how these fellows get out of it?
Snake eater
- What sort of toy are you after? I'm not worried if the baby food is homemade or jar. I'm just curious which tastes better. I think the jar ones are blander?was looking for ones with buttons to push and corresponding noises and visual stuff. we actually found a good little thing but it was $80 which we thought a bit steep, but then having looked at other stuff realised it was pretty good. the box was all torn though and it looked a bit used. i was reluctant to pay the amount when it presented poorly and suggested that it had been roughly handled. i dunno. maybe it doesnt matter.
Went shopping today n got some cute overalls for Alyssa from Millers (of all places!) there just plane denim, unisex me thinks, but ive been searching for some since she was born! love love them.
we love overalls here. she has some very spectacular alpine overalls- complete with little people skiing down her body.
Snakeeater - Im sure the jars are all good, i mean it is heinz, its just the cost factor that puts me off. Im sure it will get Odette used to swollowing though, definatly a good thing! too right. steps in the right direction.
DJ - isnt it crazy how the week just fills up! i think i have Thursday empty and thats it! exhausting business this SaHM stuff haha well i'm a SAHM weith a part time job- every second she sleeps counts as work time. (yeah ok, i'm on here right this sec..)
After lunch we popped out, we went to Toys R Us and bought Caden a rocker/seat. I have been using my sister's rocker since Caden was born but he seems to be getting too long for it now.
ooh! what is this? obviously not a bouncer...
Still need to get Caden one. We were looking at the Tripp Trapp as we like the idea of it being a seat in the future but it's just a lot of $$$ so a bit hesitant.ours is good. it has the initials CB on the top bit of the seat. got given as a xmas present. around $180 i think...
Louise
- Oh, shopping! I loooooooooove shopping! Those overalls sound oh so cute. I love lil' girls in overalls but boys, nah (sorry to any mums who put their boy bubbas in overalls :D).
out of interest, how come?
[quote]Jackie - Yay for Odette actually swallowing some solids, albeit jarred fruit custard. It's a start! How's your game playing?yeah my thoughts exactly. game is going well, only 45% of the way through though.
Jo - Bummer that you couldn't get out to see SATC (naughty Andi :p). Actually I went and saw it last night with my sisters. ...but I could have easily waited til it came out on DVD.
bummer when that happens.
I did buy some farex on Saturday with the groceries so I might give that a go soon. Not in any rush, probably will try him on it more for curiosity than anything.make sure DH is around to capture the faces. It's really really really funny.
snakeeater -YAY for Odette eating something! Have you tried the baby yoghurt? DD1 was on yoghurt for weeks as it was the only thing she would eat - easy to swallow I guess.
yeah I looked at it the other day and saw that it came in a pack of 6 - wasn't too keen to get a whole heap, have het hate it and have it go out of date. but it is on the list to give a go. now that she actually eats the fruit custard then I may give this a go.
anyway better get back to work.

Day is done. I ache all over..OH but I ache all over. Pity it was the maid's day off:laughing:.
Lachie was home with a cold. He is going to school tomorrow.
Dane had the day from hell. Had a fantastic sleep last night from 9:30pm-7:40am but then spent the day having small feeds two-hourly but only napping in half hour lots, then crying until I downed tools and held him. Not so good with me trying to finish the cleaning.
Ended up ringing the landlord with a view to asking for an extra hour but he suggested we do it on Thursday instead. I was wrapt until I realised that it would blow off the plans Peta and I had to go to see SATC that morning. It was a mum & bub session too:(. Will have to figure something else. She has been so kind taking my kids to/from school in this rain.
Jackie: I want to say 'way to go' that Odette found a food she likes..frankly they all come to eating in their own time and at this age it is not a biggie if they aren't that interested. It is good though that she is starting to experiment with it. I saw a chicky on a doco tonight who was letting her 4mth old bub nibble on her hamburger! Freaked me right out..lol.
Pixiemum2: got the same issue here too..all the teething signs but no tooth yet.
xlouxloux: bummer about the netball loss, but great you got out there and ran around..how healthy..lol.
Sam: Good luck picking a high chair. We need to get cracking and buy the table seat as Dane is getting closer to eating regularly.
Sharon: Infant jazz class. That sounds so cute:yes:. Raining here too..just after I hung out three loads and put another on to wash..grrr..and still haven't had the dryer serviced yet. Cool on Xavier crawling.
DJ: Madison is crawling over things? Wow..she is a flyer that one! Dane is still really static. Today he actually started standing firmly on his own two feet when I held him up (kinda locked his knees)..prior to that he was so floppy that he buckled at the knees.
Sarah: Glad you dropped in. What's the haps?
OK..finished my war and peace length post and finding it hard to stay awake..best sign off now.
Hugs,
Amy:)

Literally, I had just read your post whilst sitting in the lounge room with the TV on, gasped at the thought of a 4 month old eating a hamburger, and then happened to look up and see exactly that on the telly... freakin' hell! So very very scary!!! And what about that guy who weighed over 1000 pounds? That's just so very sad to see, not a way to live a life. And you'd think the family would learn from him, huh? i.e. do NOT feed your baby a hamburger    ... geez!!! And then I saw her with a french fry in her hand  *sigh*

Yeah, it's a Fisher Price infant-to-toddler rocker. Seems to be longer so Caden's head doesn't hang over the top edge. Supposedly it can be used as a toddler's chair as well... we'll see... more importantly it's a seat that he can use now as the other one was starting to look uncomfortable :D.

Could you imagine me giving Caden solids for the very first time without my DH being there with a camera? Nope, I don't think so . My hubby takes pics of pie and the coffees he drinks in cafes , so he definitely wouldn't miss this for quids.

Hi to all the Dec mummas and bubbas . I hope everyone had a fab day.
Well, I told you this is just a quick one, I am soooooooooo tired I think I'm gonna crawl into bed very VERY soon. I did a 'pump' class tonight, suppose to make the ol' muscles feel 'buffed'. I don't know about 'buffed', more like 'huffed' or 'puffed out' . I am seriously feeling every single year of my 34 years... give me back my 20's :D.

Hi ladies.I had the week from hell last week!So far this week isn't much better.
Layla has been not pooing still so we have been back and forward to Drs etc having urgent tests done. Not even coloxyl makes her poo.We know that she has no visible bowel obstructions that would cause major probs, she has a knot in one of the tubes that lets waste products pass from her right kidney to her bladder but still not a major prb and will just have regular scans to check kidney function. On friday we are off to a gastroenirologist peadiatrition(what a mouthful). They are going to start looking for fissures etc.Poor little vegemite is in so much pain.I have to give her suppositories and coloxyl all the time but with very little effect. That treament just staves off a bowel perferation for one more day:(.To top it of she know has bronchitis:crying:.My poor baby.
If this wasn't enough my sister in-law was over all last week as I had her 2 year old during the days. She tried to kill herself last week as she has just remembered lots of sexual abuse from her childhood,by her dad as well as several other men in the moari community she grew up in.Also she just lost twins to a D&C as one was ectopic. She isn't allowed to be alone and the kids were removed from her on monday so she can deal with it all.She will be here soon as well as she has to be with someone all the time.
Oliver is as crook as a dog and is having a huge tanty atm.I filed for single parenting payment yesterday and am looking for a rental for me and the kids.Gotta go before Oli makes himself spew
Oh gee Brodie... Don't know what else to say there...
Hope Layla's bowels are sorted out quick smart!! Are you giving the normal 10 drops of coloxyl or extra?? I know it's different coz A was a Spina Bifida case, but we had to give her 15 drops with every bottle and coloxyl with suppositories as well...
Hope it's nothing too serious and she passes some major poos for you real soon!! I know how weird it is for others when you WANT your kid to do lots of poos but I totally understand! Even now A has still has problems but the laxatives and suppositories are less frequent.
I'm not sure on age restrictions, but ask when next you visit the Dr/specialist about Movical half, after A's surgery the morpheine didn't react very well with her system and the adult sized suppository (they are SO darned lucky MIL took over that day and let me have a rest or all hell would have broken loose) and the coloxyl weren't doing a thing for her, she just kept getting more and more backed up, Movical half was suggested by her bum nurse (I don't know her title) and it cleared her right out and she didn't get constipated for a while after it...
Just an idea, always ask first though. Movical can be prescribed, but you don't need a prescription to get it - it MUST be half though as that's the kiddie dose. Annabelle had it at 10 months, I'm not sure about 6 month olds though...
Good luck and I really do hope her poos are more frequent for you!!
I'm doing all right Sarah!! Busy busy though and not on the net nearly as much as I was before!!

Oh yeah freaking out a bit as no-one can get hold of SIL this morning.I hope she is at her psych. appointment:fingerscrossed:
Not good about SIL at all, hope she is okay though!
Honestly, I didn't give her tummy time, she sat from an early age because she hated being on her tummy and hated being on her back... I think I know the playstation thing you're talking about, we have one of those because physio wouldn't allow me to put her in a walker...
Becca has gotten really interested in things now! She's studying them so intently!! Annabelle grabbed Becca's eggnite yesterday and was playing with it and when she'd enough, Becca couldn't take her eyes off it and was grabbing and feeling it!! We have a stuffed skunk (don't know why) and she was totally engulfed in it!! Wouldn't let go!!

Brodie :hugs: You are going through so much right now. My DD1 has always had terrible constipation issues and we ended up seeing a paed about it and she was put onto Movicol half. It worked brilliantly. Coloxyl did not work for her and this was the only thing that did. She was on it for 4 months and just came off it a month ago and is doing really well on her own.
Widget - Its so cute how they are studying everything now! I love this age! All day today Andi has been poking her tongue out, so thats a new thing for her. She is very busy blowing raspberries at the moment
Sam - You go girl! You will be buff in no time! Keep posting about it as you are making me realise I need to get off my butt and do something about my flabby bits . I think you and I are one of the last ones to start solids. Are you going to start right on the 6 month mark?
Alpha - Its great to see you back. That is great that Koby is sitting by himself! I am giving Andi 'sitting' time each day, but I have to be there holding her hands or else she will topple!
Last night was great, well Andi still is a bit hard to settle cos I put her down at 6 but she was screaming at 6.30 so I got her up for some more mummy milk and let her play under her mat while i sorted out dinner then i got her down after 7, and she slept through till3.30 :smiliedance: It was great! Also I have a phil and teds pram and Andi would lie in it and i had the toddler seat in front for DD1. Andi hated it! But now she can sit up reasonably well I have changed it so DD1 is in front and the toddler seat is at back of the pram for Andi so she now is sitting up and looking out, and she loves it! So I can finally go to the shops without her getting really upset! I was starting to think I had wasted heaps of money buying that pram, so PHEW!!!!
Had better go, have a good day

Hi ladies,
I have just had Isabelle visiting the health nurse and she was absolutely hopeless! She listened to me prattle on :ecomcity: about all my problems and didn't once jump in to offer a good solution :banghead:. I guess we'll just have to tough it out and hope she turns a corner.
The last two nights have been awful. Both the kids have colds. Max is crying when he goes to bed which is very unlike him. He didn't settle until 2am last night. On top of that Isabelle won't sleep and wants booby all night long.
I have still been trying the solids with no luck. I'll keep trying as I am sure she will cave one day.
Brodiebunch - Sorry to hear about DD's pooing problems and your SIL's problems. I hope things get better in both those departments soon. Well done on the solids. I'm hoping solids will do the same thing for Isabelle. Now....how to unclamp her mouth and get her to swallow :detective:.
Katemate - Thats a great sleep. Isabelle was doing that before she got her first cold at 4 months. Now she is up at least 3 times per night :(. I wish we could afford the phil and teds. I love them. We were given a double pram so I couldn't really justify getting one. Plus DH probably wouldn't let me spend the money.

Brodie - so sorry to hear about Layla! I hope u manage to get things sorted soon. What a wonderful growth spurt! sounds like solids are agreeing with her in that respect. It sounds like u are going through a lot with ur SIL and DH, i hope things start to pick up and u know were always here for a vent or a whinge :)
Bec - gosh it sounds like colds are definatly going around! there are alot of bubs with colds in the thread. i hope it clears up soon! Sorry ur CHN wasnt much help have u tried rumaging around bubhub there might be a thread on the things ur having probs with?
Jo - yay for Andi's great sleep!! and for enjoying being in the pram. Its horrible being in the shops with an unsettled bub. The Phil and Ted prams are nice very stylish hehe
Widget - naw sounds like Becca is super curious. its so funny watching them study things and try to figure out what they are. i wish i could hear A's thoughts sometimes hehe
Sarah - Hiya!!
Sam - go u! feels good when u do a lil exercise. the ache is like a reminder of ur good work! haha i have a fisher price rocker/seat, ive had that one the whole time i didnt bother with a bouncer, A loves hers i hope Caden does too . as for overalls im a sucker for them on anyone, lil boy ones with embroided trucks just naww i melt inside hehe
Amy - oh yes im very healthy (she says after eating fish n chips for dinner n sipping on a glass of white) hehe. i hope the inspection goes well tomorrow! im sure it will after all ur efforts
Snakeater - the overalls sound gorgeous! i cant seem to find any really special ones in the shops. i did get sent a lovely pair from uk, fleese lined, embroded but it says 6 mths but they look HUGE.
Had a good day today, saw SATC, it was pretty good, id never seen the tv show but i got it all it was just veryyy long. Got some cute tops for A from Target and was shocked to see they have the summer stuff instock. WHAT THE! its not even winter yet!

Morning all
Remind me again why I have started to exercise???!!! I did a step class last night... whoever invented the concept of jumping up and down on a platform as a form of fun exercise needs to be shot . I've gotten up this morning and my legs are killing me. I am seriously getting old. And the sad thing is I plan to go to a combat class tonight. Mmm... maybe I might call my sister and tell her I'm gonna miss tonight's class . But knowing my sister, she'll talk me into it again! Hehehe!
So, enough of my whinging, how is everyone? All good I hope. Big :hugs: to those that need them (especially you Brodie, geez, you sound like you need an extra BIG hug ATM!!!). All is good here. I really should be doing housework now, but instead I find BubHub calling out to me... woops! Hahaha! This arvo I plan to go over to my Mum's and then tonight as I mentioned I have another exercise class. All fun!
Still no teeth here, or crawling, or climbing. I think my boy is taking his sweet merry time, but I don't mind 'coz he seems to be growing up too fast as it is. And in answer to your question Jo, I think we'll be waiting til the 6 month mark before we try solids here. I did by some Farex with the groceries last Saturday, but as yet haven't given it to Caden. I really want to buy his highchair before we give solids a go too. So I think you and I will be the last ones to try solids .
Well, bubba is calling from his room so I take it that he wants to get up now. Better get going. I hope everyone has a great Thursday.

Sam - Wow! You are keen! It must be great going along with your sister. It is always harder to say no when someone else is counting on you being there. I am thinking of starting to freeze some food soon so I am ready to go with solids. I think I will start bang on when she turns 6 months which will be the 30th. I will prob start with farex and then move onto fruit and veg.
Lou - Its crazy that they are putting summer stuff out already when winter is only just getting started! Thats great that you got out to see SATC. I am wondering if I should brave a mums and bubs session to see it. I dont think DD1 would sit for that long though. Movies seem to come out on DVD quite quickly nowdays.
Pixiemum :hugs:. Its so hard when the kids are sick. I hope things are picking up a bit for you now. I am supposed to be at DS's sports day today but DD1 has a high temp and croup at the moment. I was up from 12-4am with her last night, the poor thing she could not breathe properly. I am just hoping Andi does not get it.
Brodie - I am thinking of you and hope all is ok.

Hi ladies,
We finally got some sleep last night :smiliedance:. Max settle well at 7pm and slept right through to 6am. I went in and told him to go back to sleep and he did for another hour . Isabelle settled well at 7pm also. She then woke up at her usual time of 10-11pm. Then she woke for another feed at 3am. After that she didn't wake until 7am when I saw her staring at me through her cot bars :).
How many times a night are BF babies on here waking up?
Isabelle's cold seems really bad today. She looks awful. She has snot pouring out her nose and she gags a lot when she coughs up the phlegm. It scares me because it sounds like she is choking. I can hear her wheezing a little but I don't know if it is bad enough to take her to the doc?
Louise - I have had a scout around on the boards/threads and all the advice I see is pretty much what I am doing. I can't believe you have never seen a SATC city episode. It always amazes me how quickly they bring out the next season .
Sam - Step classes are a killer. You are lucky you have your sister to go with. I wish I had someone to drag me along and give me kick up the butt!
Katesmate - I hope DD gets well soon and doesn't pass it on to Andi :fingerscrossed:.
Off to enjoy my second batch of breastfeeding cookies. Yum!

I think Becca weighs about 8.9kgs... I'm not sure if my scales are right though... Yesterday I weighed myself and they said I'd lost 4 kgs, then I jumped on again twice more and the 2nd and 3rd time it told me I've gained 1kg. Today, I've lost 1kg (all going by starting weight) but yeah, said I was 93.8kg holding Becca and 84.9kg on my own today... That's 8.9kgs for Becca... Find out for sure next Thursday...

What the???!!! My bubby boy is STILL asleep after he went down at 8:30am this morning (it's now near 12:00 noon). This is very VERY unusual, gotta remember he is what we call our '30 minute wonder'. And typical, I'm sitting here on the couch all dressed and ready to go out . Just waiting for the lil' man to wake up, and then of course I'll have to give him a feed, and then we can finally we head out. Lucky I'm not planning to meet anyone at a specific time. Just thought I'd catch the bus into the city and say hi to the guys from my work, and then go to a baby shop and look at some highchairs. Nothing too exciting, just a chance to go out and enjoy some of this gorgeous sunshine we're having today :sunshine:

Hi ladies,
I took Isabelle to the doctors this morning. She said she has bronchiolitis and is in mild respiratory distress. Plus an infected/bulging ear. So we were referred to the hospital and the doc there said she was breathing fine and there were no sounds coming from her chest . She also said her ears were fine :banghead:. That is ridiculous! How can two doctors have such a different diagnosis !?
She had a nice choke on some phlegm this morning. She went purple and I thought she was going to seriously choke. Luckily she coughed it up and it came squirting out her nose and mouth, eeeew!
Widget - I had the same thing with the scales the other day. Isabelle turned out to weigh 8.5kg. I thought that couldn't be right as she was barely 7kg the other day. I reweighed myself/her 2 times before I got a more consistent weight.
Sam - Enjoy the sleep :). It sucks though when you are waiting for them to wake up and then they sleep unusually long.

Found out what is wrong with Layla.Unfortunatley there is no quick fix. When she poo's instead of her sphincter relaxing to allow it to pass it contracts. It is like pushing against a brick wall. She will hopefully grow out of it:fingerscrossed:.We have to put her on fibre to make her poo's super runny and start stretching the muscle in her bum to allow the poo to flow.If it is still a problem in 6 months or sooner and she still cant poo then surgery will be nessecary.Even though that procedure only lasts a few weeks and then they have to do it again. It is pretty rare. She also has a kidney stone.:fingerscrossed::fingerscrossed:she can pass that herself.
I found you guys again
Hi to all
have no brain at the moment as sleep has been at a premium this week, so would like to comment on what others have written but my brain can't seem to remember what I wanted to say.
Avari managed to roll herself over in her cradle today (even though she has the special cushion thingie that is supposed to stop this) I found her trying to pull herself up on the cradle edge, so was a lucky find -I think she will have to go into her cot tonight and say bye to the cradle:wave:
Does anyone know what I can use to stop her from rolling over or is it ok if she does that now at 6 months?
She did the cutest thing this afternoon, laughs so hard at me if I do a fake hiccup (which she has done for a while) but then today she started doing fake hiccups and laughing at herself -I thought this was v cute.
Anyway not much more to say still no sitting by herself, no real crawling but she has started solids and so far so good, she loves pumpkin.
Have a nice weekend everyone :goodvibes:

I had the inspection yesterday morning and true to form the landlord's son-in-law (who does all the inspections) found little things to be picky about as he always does. This time it was the front window he wasn't happy with. He delivered a lecture (I feel about three years old when he does that) on using a good quality window cleaner and a nappy. Trouble was..I cleaned them when it was rainy and overcast and the one day we had sunshine, yesterday, suddenly you could see some of my wipe marks. Guess what I was doing today? lol.
Anyhow..although I ache in every imaginable place on my body, I am so glad the place is clean. Traditionally I am a bi-polar cleaner but I really do want to keep it at this level so am devoting three hours a day to doing just that.:fingerscrossed: I don't backslide:D.
The kids and I all got haircuts tonight. We paid $78 at Just Cuts which was quite good I thought. The last time we had haircuts at the local salon the kids and I had similar stuff done, except I did have a few foils that time, and it totalled to $250:eek: <---the face I pulled when the amount was delivered. Thankfully with dh shaving what's left of his hair we save tons on shampoo and haircuts for him..lmao.
Peta took me shopping to a discount outlet yesterday and I got dh and the kids some stuff. Dh is taking the kids shopping tomorrow to buy me something. Apparently I have a 'number day' coming up this weekend..you know..where the tacometer clicks over another 365 days..lol. Don't know what they will end up getting me. I can't even think of anything I want or need.
Gotta dash..boybee has just woken for his 9pm feed (yeah I know.*looking at time stamp*.he overslept..lol).
BBL.
Amy:)

Evening all
Well, after a slow start to the day Caden and I managed to get outta the house and into the city. Stopped by my work and spent a good 45 minutes there. Caden got passed around from pillar to post, and thankfully was such a good buy. Of course he threw around the obligatory smile and chuckle. After that met up with DH and we stopped by a baby store. And hooray, we brought a highchair. Decided on the Fisher Price Space Saver High Chair. Our dining area is incredibly small (much like the rest of our house ), so we had originally liked the idea of the Tripp Trapp as it meant that it could be a part of our dining setting. But alas, the high price and not-so-favourable comments made us go for the space saver chair. For those not familiar it's like the seat part of a conventional highchair but you attach it to your own dining chair. We have set it up and it looks like it will do the job nicely. Big test is tomorrow when we put Caden in it (he was in bed by the time we got it out of the box). So I think we'll be adventurous and bring out the box of farex and give it a go. :fingerscrossed: it will go OK. I'll be sure to post about it and of course have a coupla pics too.
OK, some personals that I didn't manage to get to this morning...
Amy - Don't you just love inspections? NOT! Hahaha! They always have to find something to pick on. I remember years ago one house DH and I were renting and they declared that the grass was "a bit crisp underfoot". I kid you not, that's what they put in the report. Even to this day when the situation warrants a comment about gardening DH and I always have a laugh about it. And you have reminded me that I really need to pull my finger out and book a haircut appointment. I haven't had a haircut since December, just before Caden arrived . Thankfully I have long hair so it's not as noticeable... hehe!
Sai - Hiya, glad you found us again. The pretend hiccuping sounds so cute! What a cheeky lil' monkey you have there. I must admit Caden was out of his bassinet and into his cot by 12 weeks. So never did experience any heart stopping near escapes from the bassinet. Sounds like you might have to upgrade to the cot now.
Brodie - Poor Layla!!! But it's good that they have found the source of the problem. Hopefully she will outgrow it so they won't have to resort to surgery. How's Oliver going?
Bec - Oh poor Isabelle!!! There's some Dec bubs having a rough trot ATM. I hope she overcomes all that sickness soon, that choking must have put you in sheer panic! And how frustrating about the 2 different diagnosis from 2 different doctors. Doesn't really give you a vote in confidence in the medical community, huh?
Widget - How's the job sorting and wedding planning coming along? Any updates to tell?
Jackie - Glad to hear that you found the toy that you were after. Isn't it frustrating when you find something you want to get, but then can't get your hands on stock? That's usually what happens to us. I'm surprised after deciding on the highchair that they had one there to take with us. Hehehe! How's Odette? And how's the working from home going? Got your first pay cheque yet? When I stopped into work today they were all asking when I was coming back. What the? Please! Let me have my 12 months mat leave before I even think about going back. LOL!
Jo - As I mentioned above, I think we're gonna try some farex this weekend. Yeeks! Our bubbas are growing up way too fast!!! LOL. How's Andi? How's the swimming going? Caden starts his in a coupla weeks. I have no idea how he's gonna go.
Well, that's about it from me. Hi to the rest of the gorgeous Dec mummas - Louise, Wendy, Sharon, Sarah, DJ, Prudie, Trish (that brood of 5 must be keeping her extra busy!), and anyone else that I may have forgotten.
I hope everyone has a glorious weekend. Tomorrow arvo I'm off to see a show called Bollywood with my sisters and Mum, and then we're having Indian for dinner (yum!). Sunday DH and I are off to dinner with some friends. DH's parents are babysitting, first time for them so :fingerscrossed: Caden will be a good boy for them.
See ya's later, and chat again soon.
Sam... :flowerz:
Amy, he has no right to have a verbal problem with the state of the house, inspections are soley to make sure there no holes in the walls, no damage to the actual property... I'd be telling him where to stick his comments as the cleanliness of the house is actually none of his business until you move out and hand in the keys!! Anyhoo...
Sam, nothing really going on... My MOH is working out engagement invite ideas. I forgot to ring the childcare centre and see if we can get them in for one or two days instead of the three and get DF to work around the days they can't get in...
My work needs notice that I'm going back and I can't give notice until I know about childcare...
so, no updates...
gotta go, Becca decided it would be good to poo overnight...

I am thinking of starting to freeze some food soon so I am ready to go with solids. I think I will start bang on when she turns 6 months which will be the 30th. I will prob start with farex and then move onto fruit and veg.
may the force be with you. please take pictures if possible.
Its crazy that they are putting summer stuff out already when winter is only just getting started!
havent you noticed? the xmas stuff is out already!
What the???!!! My bubby boy is STILL asleep after he went down at 8:30am this morning (it's now near 12:00 noon). This is very VERY unusual, gotta remember he is what we call our '30 minute wonder' . And typical, I'm sitting here on the couch all dressed and ready to go out . Just waiting for the lil' man to wake up, and then of course I'll have to give him a feed, and then we can finally we head out.
I know this one. Thids is when I get a coupla photos of here sleeping, hoping to wake her up as well. doesnt always work though, but have a few gorgeous shots of her.
Hi ladies,
I took Isabelle to the doctors this morning. She said she has bronchiolitis and is in mild respiratory distress. Plus an infected/bulging ear. So we were referred to the hospital and the doc there said she was breathing fine and there were no sounds coming from her chest . She also said her ears were fine :banghead:. That is ridiculous! How can two doctors have such a different diagnosis !?
god, that's frustrating, so what is it and what will you do? Hope Isabelle gets well soon!
She had a nice choke on some phlegm this morning. She went purple and I thought she was going to seriously choke. Luckily she coughed it up and it came squirting out her nose and mouth, eeeew!
choice! thanks for the description!
Found out what is wrong with Layla.Unfortunatley there is no quick fix. When she poo's instead of her sphincter relaxing to allow it to pass it contracts. It is like pushing against a brick wall. She will hopefully grow out of it.We have to put her on fibre to make her poo's super runny and start stretching the muscle in her bum to allow the poo to flow.If it is still a problem in 6 months or sooner and she still cant poo then surgery will be nessecary.Even though that procedure only lasts a few weeks and then they have to do it again. It is pretty rare. She also has a kidney stone.she can pass that herself.
:hugs: to you and layla.
welcomeback Sai!
amy - house inspections can be such a drag. good that you get a clean house out of it though.
and HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!!!!!! Hope you have a great day.
Sam - sounds liek caden put on a good show for the office colleagues.
and yes I really hate it when places don't stock things they advertise. it happens a lot. when we went to order our cot the bloke said "oh it
'll take 12 weeks to get it in. I was 32 weeks pregnant.
The high chair ounds like it wil work well.
look forward to seeing the picture sof the solids attempts - as well may the force be with you.
i just this second fed odette some orange I was eating. Think judging from the face it's a bit sweet.
off today down the huon to swap a rooster for a chook (rooster was meant to be a chook in the first place) and to order a new kitchen floor.
yes working from home is very hectic but it is good to pull ther $$ in.
gotta dash - bye peoples!

happybirthday Amy for this weekend! I hope you get spoilt!!!
I cant believe the fuss they made over a few marks on your window. Like Widget said they should just be checking that nothing is broken etc. I cant stand it when people get picky like that.
Sam - It sounds like you have got a fun weekend planned! I cant wait to see some pics of Caden eating his farex! Good luck!
Jackie - YAY that you found that toy! How is Odette going now with her solids? I think I remember you saying there were quick a few food she was not liking.
Brodie - Poor Layla, I hope she is not in too much pain :hugs:. Big :hugs: for you too!
Pixiemum - I hope Isabelle is getting better. How frustrating getting to the hospital and them telling you nothing is wrong. I hope she is feeling better today :hugs:
We have swimming today. We could not go last week as we got in the car ready to go and the battery was dead! I am trying to get Andi to have a sleep now or else she will be too cranky to swim and she is just fighting her sleep at the moment! I was only thinking the other day that I felt like I was getting her down so easily for sleeps. I think her teeth are really bugging her. I looked up DS's health record yesterday and he didnt get his first tooth till he was 9 months, eeek! I want hers to come through now cos she seems to be in a lot of pain with it.
I still need to get some pics of her swimming, the only thing is DH is in the water with DD1 while I am in with Andi so maybe I just have to get some pics at home of Andi in her swimmers.
Better go and get everyone organised. Have a good weekend everyone :flowerz:

Happy weekend everyone :)
Had a good few days, Im trying to think of some different foods to try so any suggestions of combos would be appreciated :) It was Alyssa's first swimming lessons yesterday and she loved it! was splashing around and loved floating on her back. One of the ladies (its our mothers group going) had her mother there n she took photos so i may have some a week or so.
I think the dreaded teeth were being a pain yesterday as bubs cheeks were very red n she was a lil grumpy in the arvo.
Sam - good luck with solids! cant wait to see some piccies. love the new avatar pic too.
Amy - the inspector sounds like he was on a bit of a power trip to me hehe happybirthday and i hope u get some relaxing in
Bec - oh my that would have been a horrible thing to see! i cant believe ur doc messed u around, really fills u with confidence hmm. I hope it clears up soon
Jo - it sounds like were going through the same thing with teeth! ive been looking and i can see flattness but no white dots. it just feels like there going through all this n nothings happening! poor bubs. have fun swimming!
Snakeeater - glad u found ur toy! ive been trying to find a good noise toy lately might have to have a look at the vtech's. ooo orange, havent tried that yet!
Sai - i think its pretty safe for ur bub to roll around now, if i put Alyssa down she just rolls into whatever position is comfortable for her, i cant make her stay on her back. good luck with moving her to the cot!
Brodie - glad to hear u now know what is going on but sad to hear that its not a simple thing to fix. :hugs: to both of u and i hope it sorts its self out n theres no need for surgery
I think ive caught up now hehe. have a lovely one :) :goodvibes:
Hi girls..dont have time for personals, but wanted to let you all know that my sister called me today and told me one of her twins has passed away :(
they did a scan and said she is the size of a 16 week fetus so she must have died a few weeks ago..she is devastated as am I...she now has to carry the baby to term when she delivers the other twin and will not even be able to see the baby when its born. Its so sad that innocent little girl had to die. My sister is not coping well...and has been crying non stop since she found out...but she knows she has to be strong for the other baby who is healthy and well. I have been so emotional today.. please keep my sister in your thoughts and prayers..RIp little Rebecca

How terrible for your sister and even worse that she still needs to carry both babies to full term. What a mixed bundles of emotions your sister will face at that time - joy & enormous sadness. :hugs:it's just so unbelievably sad :hugs:absolutely in my thoughts & prayers today to get through the remainder of the pregnancy healthy and with some happiness for the well bub.

Hi Sai  - sounds like avari is doing well & it's great that she likes pumpkin too. I had been giving Xavier farex for the last week and jsut started him on pumpkin today and he loved it - act nearly whole 120g can is one hit! In regards to Avari rolling why stop her - encourage her! Demonstrates that she is doing some things for herself and developing her strength. Just make sure she's not in danger of rolling of anything...

Sam: Glad you found a high chair to suit..has Caden had his first cereal in there yet?
How wonderful to spend some quality time with your mum and sister. How was the show? I just love live theatre. I bet Caden was an absolute delight for his grandparents. They must have been thrilled to have that time with him. I can't remember but is he their first?
Brodie: How are you feeling gorgeous? Have your family and friends rallied around you at this time? I think about you often.:hugs:.
Glad you got some answers about Layla's bowel habits and I pray it can be resolved in the easiest possible way. I was just reading about a b/feeding mum who ate things like yoghurt, psyllium husks, sauerkraut etc..to help bubs bowels through the b/milk.
Bec: I hope Isabelle improves quickly. I think we mum's feel their suffering even more than they do. Steam, saline, and a good nose sucker are about the only things you can do for them unfortunately. Many a time I have sat on a chair in the middle of the closed up bathroom with a croupy/bronchial child on my lap and the hot tap running in the shower til the room turned into a sauna. Good for a sick bub and really good for your skin too:yes:, makes it all soft and hydrated..lol.
Jackie: I so understand your tenacity. I am like a pitbull when there is something I really want. Glad you eventually found the toy.
I was shocked to read that the Xmas stuff is out already! I get really narky when I see all the easter stuff out in January. It diminishes the experience as the kids are satiated with it all long before the holiday. How crassly commercial.
How did the chook swap go? Did you get a brown one so you can get brown eggs? lol.
Widget: Hope you can find some quality childcare hon. I tell you what though..if you and your fiancee can weather; a new bub; having to find other accommodation; him gaining a new job and you returning to work; plus planning a wedding, all in the space of a year or so; then marriage should be a piece of cake for you both.
As to the landlord's son-in-law..I know he is fussy and picky and makes me feel small some times but I would never complain..we are paying $100 less p.w. than others in our area for comparable digs. I will kiss his backside if he wants..lol. Mind you, we are very good tenants too..never been late with rent in 7.5yrs and have the carpets done twice a year etc..just have to rectify the things he wasn't happy with.
DJ: I am so very sorry to hear about your sister's loss. How sad that she must carry Rebecca to term. Does that pose any risks for either the other bub or your sister?
:hugs: to you too hon.
Jo: How are you lovely? Glad to hear the swimming is going swimmingly..lol. Would love to see pics of Andi in her cossie.
Andi and Dane are in the same boat with teeth..plenty of red cheeks and dribbling..but no sign of anything yet. Soon would be good.
Sai: How is bub going in the cot? I tend to throw mine out of the basinette around four months..you just never know the hour or the day they will learn to sit up and roll out..eeek. We had enough trouble with dh forgetting to pull up the cot side..poor ds1 fell out on his head a few times. I am welding the side up the very second dh forgets with Dane..lol.
xlouxloux: Sounds like we have a ton of water babies in this thread. Cool that Alyssa loved it. My first three would have screamed the pool down.
Have you added any meat to the vegies yet? Or pasta? You can mush them all up together or leave them a little bit lumpy depending on what Alyssa likes. Dane is only eating sporadically but tonight I gave him stewed apple and he ate about four teaspoons worth! He has only ever eaten two teaspoons of anything else before.
He was funny last night. He fell asleep before I could show him the new haircut but when he woke at 10pm for his final feed he stared at me while he was drinking. The eyes were wide and going from my face to my hair many times. He looked really worried until I spoke to him..then I got a huge smile..lol.
Off to finish posts elsewhere and then to bed. Got the big 'number day' tomorrow and some friends invited themselves to lunch :)..had to be the day I promised Lachlan I would come to his Auskick. Oh well..just have to multi-task.
Hugs to all. Hope you are having a great weekend.

He sure is lovely..he is returning in a month..but will also fix the things I advised him that need attention.
We honestly count ourselves lucky to have found this place. The government are out and about overseas and interstate begging people to move to Canberra..but there isn't enough accommodation and it is causing the rent market to inflate at a crazy rate..so I will clean the windows to his satisfaction and do all the other things on his list..until I win the lottery:laughing:
Oooh..don't know what tomorrow will bring. The kids keep hinting at having bought something but stop short before giving it away.
Gotta love a surprise.
It's my nephew's 4th bday tomorrow too, and 14th bday for the next door neighbour's daughter..so plenty to share my special day with.

My own mum was horrified to become a grandmother at 44 and here I am with a bub at the same age. My paternal grandmother paved the way by having her fourth child at 43 and my gp told me years ago that I would likely be fertile til my 50's:eek:.
I love the diversity of experience though. I have been a mum at 23, 37, 38, and now 44 and I don't notice much of a difference in how I mother, just a bit creakier when I run with the kids now..lol.
So now that Annabelle is running she will keep you on your toes for sure:yes: and I'll bet you dreamt of this moment for a long time.

Thank you for the birthday wishes.

Mum had her 3rd at 36. She was 45 in Jan. Made a grandma at 43. My Grandmother became a Great-Grandmother at 61 I think she was... Pretty sure she had my uncle at 16 and Mum at 18... Not positive, I know Mum's Dad's just turned 70 whereas my Dad's parents are nearly 80!!

Sai - I think once they can roll back AND forth then they are ok to leave without a anti-roll device. I use the safe-t-sleep sleepwrap when they are not quite there.
Amy - Happy Birthday to you! Thanks for the tip on the steam . She is much better today.
DJ - So sorry to hear about poor little Rebecca. Your sister must be devastated but at least she has the other baby to focus on. Do they know what happened to Rebecca?
Isabelle is much better now. She is still snotty and had another choking fit this morning but she isn't chesty anymore . Unfortunately we still aren't getting much sleep. I had DH snoring loudly next to me all night. I kept shoving him but it made no difference. Then Isabelle wanted to mawl my boob all night. If I tried to take it away she cracked it. She wouldn't sleep in her cot for more than an hour.
Since Max was sick he has also been waking up a lot during the night and calling out for us. There is never anything wrong other than he is just awake. I was so peeved last night that I went in and gave him a stern talking to. He went straight back to sleep .
Once we get back from hols and move Isabelle into her own room I am going to have to do a bit of sleep training. She will not feed in the bed anymore and she WILL go back to sleep in her own cot. It's gonna be a killer on me but hopefully it will only take a week or two :fingerscrossed:.

Bec - glad to hear Isabelle is getting over the bronchiolitis it's not nice when they're unwell
Avari settled into her cot with no problems (mind you it's still next to my bed where her cradle was) was a bit worried about the rolling over in her sleep 'cause of the sids info but have done all I can think of to stop it with a grow bag and pillow stopper thing, so I think I'll just have to stop being worried about it.
Think I'll go and hang out listening to the lovely rain :rain:

Yeah, I got an email to say it has been sent as well, hoping it arrives by end of week. How good is the internet for this kind of thing though? A few years ago- it was if they dont have it in the local shops then you don't get it type deal. yay for internet!

pssst! I was just joking about the xmas stuff being out this early. They don't usually buckle until august!
How did the chook swap go? Did you get a brown one so you can get brown eggs? lol.
we've got 2 x black ones that produce brown eggs, this was just another light sussex chicken, which is predominantly white with some black feathers around neck and tail. It has yet to settle in with the other chicks properly and is currently nigel no-friends. Hopefully after a week or so it'll integrate well.
big blanket of frost all outside the back this morning. strangely enough, one of the chicks was in the nest ready to lay! not bad for ewhat is currently 4 degrees outside.
hear that sam? - 4 degrees! (oh and did you try the solids?)
Big week ahead with some work to do and some other work starting. Today, with this very cold weather , all I wanted to do was stay in bed and watch some movies and so on.
Had some success on the weekend as well with - PEAR! as in fresh pear! not canned pear!
HOORAY!
(unfortunately now though I've run out of pear - well i've got some but they're a bit hard....)
Hi to everyone reading this:wave:
I'd better get on with the day!

Mady is super strong.A bit jealous really.Layla has stagnanted on the tummy time thing cause of her bowels. She has even stopped rolling cause it hurts her.She is good standing though;).Will try and post one of her standing tomorrow.
DJ-I hope your sister gets through this:hugs:
Widget.Great video:yelclap:
Thanks everyone for the love you have been showering on me.I am doing alright.Layla even pooed by herself today. It was only a teaspoon worth but that is a start:thumbsup:.Oliver still has a nasty cough but is back to his terrorising ways.Layla actually slapped him back today LOL.She lined him up and wack. The look on her face was pricless. We have her CHN check tomorrow so I will give you her real measurements then. She has had another growth spurt this week and finally fills out her 00 wondersuits.I will be putting her 000 outfits away really soon.
Hope all are well.

hi brodie, sounds like Layla is growing well, :fingerscrossed: that her bowel keeps heading in the right direction.
widget- what a gorgeous gorgeous gorgeous happy child you have!
Days like today i want to be pregnant again. Other days i'm glad I'm not because of how tired etc you get. still fairly cold down here.
odette ate an entire <steamed> pear this morning. and has now been asleep for 2+ hours - possibly also because I have the heater on low in her room and it is super comfy. I am going to start giving her 2 meals a day (she can definitely do with it) and was wondering if soemthing this arvo might be a bit much due to the pear attack this morning...

I had DH snoring loudly next to me all night. I kept shoving him but it made no difference. Then Isabelle wanted to mawl my boob all night. If I tried to take it away she cracked it. She wouldn't sleep in her cot for more than an hour.
OH MAN!:hugs: You can't even go the earplugs either as you need to hear isabelle.
Since Max was sick he has also been waking up a lot during the night and calling out for us. There is never anything wrong other than he is just awake. I was so peeved last night that I went in and gave him a stern talking to. He went straight back to sleep .
sounds like you have that well under control.:D

Avari settled into her cot with no problems (mind you it's still next to my bed where her cradle was) was a bit worried about the rolling over in her sleep 'cause of the sids info but have done all I can think of to stop it with a grow bag and pillow stopper thing, so I think I'll just have to stop being worried about it.
Think I'll go and hang out listening to the lovely rain :rain:
Hope you all have a nice week.
how do you pronounce Avari? Rhymes with Atari?
I dunno how you (or anyone) can sleep with a baby in the same room. flippin'eck they make noise! even when odette was a tiny newborn i think she lasted 2 nights in our room and then she had to go in the adjacent room so we could still hear her but not every little squeak. Couldnt get a wink of sleep with a baby in the room!

hii everyone :)
Just chilling at home today as Alyssa had her 6mth shots this morning, all went well just a lil scream on impact then she settled ok. I didnt bother with a flu vac as its 3 shots (1 a month) and i think its more for bubs who are in contact with kids at school/daycare. Shes never really had a cold either so its not like shes always sick.
ANOTHER rainy day today, kinda sucks as my washing is out sopping, looks like ill have to give in and use the dryer as i need my netball gear tonight.
Snakeeater - yay for Odette liking pear! and having a lovely long nap for u! might have to give pear a go myself. im yet to find a breakfast that A likes unfortunatly.
Brodie - thats great that Layla managed to do some poo's by herself! I cant imagine how hard it is for her being in pain. Does massage help at all? ahh sibling rivalry! and they look so loving towards each other in ur avatar hehe
DJ - wow what a strong girl! must say ive tried putting A on her knees but her arms flop out hehehe she does rock back n forth on her bum though. How many teeth does Maddy have now? beautiful smiles
Sai - i didnt do the necklace myself a lady who does it lives 5mins from me so i took A over n she did it for me, it didnt look hard at all though so id prob give it a go myself. I got one for DP too for his bday. there so gorgeous :)
Tis enough for now, off to find something yummy and warm to fill my belly.
:goodvibes:

I don't have either of the girls in with us but they were both in our room for 6 weeks... I thinks it's not so much that they make so much noise, it's more you can sleep a little deeper because you know they are either with you or just in arms reach... I slept better with Becca in the room and it was so much nicer to just roll over to reach her and shove the dummy back in her mouth, now I have to get up and walk 1/2 way down the house!!!
What I'd give for a full nights uninterrupted sleep!! Ok, so naturally I now need to pee at 3am every freaking morning, but if it was just to go to the loo it wouldn't be a problem coz you don't need to think or wake up for that, dummy runs you need to wake up to think enough to find the darned thing and shove it in the right hole!!
I was so tired last night after my 3am dummy and loo run that DF got cr@ppy at me coz he had to go and check on Becca... Apparently her heart monitor went off (to indicate she isn't breathing) I didn't hear a thing... Thankfully she'd just moved off it, laying along the top of the cot instead of along the length of it...
Anyhoo, massive headache, going for a laydown while Becca sleeps and DF's taken Annabelle (my Spina Bifida TODDLER :D) to the shops!!

:iagree: Alyssa drove me crazy when i had her in my room, she was a grunter, she would let out this huge grunt id leap up n she'd be fast asleep! i was expecting to find she had given birth herself! even now sometimes i hear lil suck noises or grunts when im awake reading.
Best thing i did was move her to her own room :) hehe

Hiya Dec mummies
I hope all is well wherever you are. As Louise said, it's a cold and wet ol' day over here in the west (and yes Jackie, I thought of you this morning when I heard that it was a chilly 4 degrees in Hobart, lucky you!!! Hehehe!). I haven't ventured any further than the letterbox today LOL. Been way to yuck outside. DH left at 4am this morning to catch a 5am flight to Sydney, so yet another week home alone... boo hoo! Tho' DH attached a camera-thingy to my laptop so we can call each other (and see each other) using iChat. I wish he would have warned me today when he called. He was in the Sydney office and decided to flash his computer to some work colleagues 'coz they wanted to see Caden. Let me tell you I wasn't that pretty... haha! So DH is gonna be in trouble when he gets home on Friday!
OK, I feel some personals coming on (I'll apologise for my mamoth post now :D)...
I think her teeth are really bugging her. I looked up DS's health record yesterday and he didnt get his first tooth till he was 9 months, eeek! I want hers to come through now cos she seems to be in a lot of pain with it.
Oh, poor Andi! How's she doing now? Any lil' teeth poking thru yet? I think Caden will be like your DS Sam 'coz he doesn't seem to be showing any of the signs of teeth yet.
Hi girls..dont have time for personals, but wanted to let you all know that my sister called me today and told me one of her twins has passed away they did a scan and said she is the size of a 16 week fetus so she must have died a few weeks ago..she is devastated as am I...she now has to carry the baby to term when she delivers the other twin and will not even be able to see the baby when its born. Its so sad that innocent little girl had to die. My sister is not coping well...and has been crying non stop since she found out...but she knows she has to be strong for the other baby who is healthy and well. I have been so emotional today.. please keep my sister in your thoughts and prayers..RIP little Rebecca
Oh, give your sister some BIG :hugs: from all of us. What a gut-wentching thing to happen. It's definitely gonna be a bitter sweet moment when they are born. Such a happy time for the healthy bub but such a sad time for lil' Rebecca. It's great that you are there to support her, she'll definitely need it.
Just a lil question does anyone know where on earth i can buy some baby bathers? 6mths +, i want a rasher suit, short arms n legs. bright bots have the best but can i find any...no! driving me nuts.
I was in 'Baby on a Budget' in Cannington the other day and they had a stand with lil' swimsuits/ vests etc. I really didn't take much notice of exactly what they had and price, but maybe worth a try.
oo and i got my necklace today! duno if i mentioned it. but i had a smallprints necklace made, its a tear drop pendant with alyssa's lil finger print in it her name on the front n 6mths on the back. so love it. had one done for DP to for his bday next month. its pure silver n just gorgeous.
I must admit I had not heard of these before, so of course when I read your post talking about them I googled. They are definitely very cute! And such a great keepsake too. I'm sure your DP will love his. They are even a great idea for grandma's etc (my Mum's birthday is coming up so maybe an idea...).
Check out my last post WITH video!!! (http://www.bubhub.com.au/community/forums/showthread.php?p=2757375#post2757375)
O.M.G. How gorgeous is Annabelle???!!! And I bet you are proud as punch! She looked like she's been walking and running for ages. Amazing how fast they can learn something and then excel at it. I'm sure it's the start of many good things to come with her development.
Got the big 'number day' tomorrow...
So how did the 'number day' go Amy? Do tell all the details! I'm sure you were spoilt rotten (if not then put your DH online so we can give him an earful :D).
Isabelle is much better now. She is still snotty and had another choking fit this morning but she isn't chesty anymore.
He went straight back to sleep.
Thank goodness Isabelle is on the mend. And sorry, I had to have a giggle when you mentioned about giving Max some stern words. I can so relate to that as I must admit last week when DH was away Caden decided he wanted to get up about 6am in the morning. I went in there and gave him some stern words about him not loving his mummy 'coz she wants to sleep :o. Mind you, he didn't understand a word of it and continued to cry!
I too was a lil' worried at first when Caden decided that sleeping on his belly was much more comfy than his back when he had mastered the task of rolling. I would go in there and ever-so-slowly turn him back onto his back, only to go in half hour later to find him on his belly. So now I leave him. I figure he knows how to roll so if he gets into trouble then he can flip over onto his back.
Layla even pooed by herself today. It was only a teaspoon worth but that is a start.Oliver still has a nasty cough but is back to his terrorising ways.Layla actually slapped him back today LOL.She lined him up and wack. The look on her face was pricless. We have her CHN check tomorrow so I will give you her real measurements then. She has had another growth spurt this week and finally fills out her 00 wondersuits.I will be putting her 000 outfits away really soon.
Ya for Layla's poop, even if it was just a eeny-weeny one!!! And good on her for whacking Oliver, I think she may have to get use to that as I'd imagine having a big bro' will be testing at the best of times... hehehe! And funny enough this morning I packed away a whole heap of 000 clothes as Caden has now finally graduated to 00... yay! He still fits into a coupla 000 t-shirts so they are still in his wardrobe, but all the rest are packed away.
odette ate an entire <steamed> pear this morning. and has now been asleep for 2+ hours - possibly also because I have the heater on low in her room and it is super comfy. I am going to start giving her 2 meals a day (she can definitely do with it) and was wondering if soemthing this arvo might be a bit much due to the pear attack this morning...

Shes never really had a cold either so its not like shes always sick.
Great to hear that Alyssa went well with her shots. I got some info about the flu vaccine, but I too decided against it. I think maybe next year when Caden goes to daycare then it might be worth doing.
Well, news here. Caden had his first try on solids yesterday! Just a lil' bit of farex. I made it quite runny (I suppose more like thick soup) and he loved it! It was so funny to see him licking his lips and opening up wide for the next spoonful. He guzzled it down so I made a lil' bit more but this time made it a lil' bit thicker. Well, he didn't seem quite as eager to eat that LOL. So after only a coupla lil' spoonfuls he literally clamped his mouth shut, indicating that he wanted no more. Of course DH turned the event into a photo-fest, so he's posted a pic on his blog >>>
http://leonshaffer.blogspot.com/2008/06/caden-goes-hardcore.html
I think he's gonna post more pics in the next few days when he has a chance (he's busy in Sydney ATM) but when he does I'll let you all know. I gave the farex another try this morning, made it not quite as thick but not runny either IYKWIM and Caden seemed to guzzle it down, so all good. I think I'll keep with the farex til the weekend and then dig out the pumpkin I have in the freezer.
Well, I better hit the submit button before I loose this post LOL. I hope everyone has a great evening.

I have both my kids in a room with me ATM.Layla has always been in with me and she is a very quiet sleeper but Oli snores his little head off.I love having L close to me but prefer Oli in his own room. When I finally get my living arrangements organised the kids can share a room and I can have my own...........Bliss!
Jackie-wow a whole pear:eek:.That will be nice coming out the other end:p.Layla isn't huge on the single fruits.I stew her apricots, sultanas, prunes, pear and apple with vannila beans and cinnimon and she goes nuts on it.It makes a really nice treat for me as well.
Louise-nope massage doesn't help.Even learnt the real way to massage and all.She still loves it when I get a chance. The only hands on thing that would help would be to stick my pinky in her bum to stretch the muscle but that would hurt her heaps.Sorry TMI.
Just put Layla down unswaddled for the first time.It took 5 minutes but she has nodded off with only little wimpers. She also says "mummy".It is usually when she is sad or tired and she looks at me and lets out a long drawn out "muuuuuummmmy".She is starting to mimic her name to layla is "lala".no dada, bubba etc though.

Thankfully Caden has DH's eyes! I have such boring ol' brown ones. When I was pregnant I had hoped Caden would get DH's blue eyes but really thought that brown being the more dominant gene he'd get mine. Not the case :yelclap:
And yeah, Caden seemed to like the farex. It really is quite tasteless so have no idea why (yep, I tried it :barf:).
I remember the CHN saying that giving bubs farex is more for them to master the task of eating and getting use to texture rather than for taste, so she's not wrong there LOL! :D I can't wait now to start giving him stuff that tastes good tho'. Will do that next weekend

Snake eater - Funny you mentioned the earplugs. I used to wear them religiously before the kids as I am such a light sleeper. I have been very tempted to put them back in sometimes . With Max I booted him out of the room pretty early as I couldn't stand all the noise he made. Isabelle though is a very quite sleeper and only makes a noise when she wakes up and wants attention (which is quite often ).
Louise - Glad her shots went well. I will probably get Isabelle the flu shot but it sucks they have to have three.
Widget - I've poked the dummy in Isabelle's eyes a few times in my half awake state :o. It's like "why won't she take the dummy" as you keep poking.
Sam - Cute pic of Caden and his first solids. He has very vibrant blue eyes. I have very light blue eyes and luckily Max got them. DH has boring hazel eyes. I was hoping Isabelle would get my eyes but so far they are blue on the outside with a little bit of hazel on the inside, very odd :detective:. I tried farex with water first and it was soooo bland. When I made it with breastmilk it tasted so much better (yes I tasted it :o). Isabelle still wouldn't take it though. Maybe I should make it really runy like you did? Max has cottoned onto the fact that if he yells out someone will come in to gently settle him back to sleep. I was so not in the mood and bluntly told him to "go back to sleep now!". He got the idea.
Brodiebunch - Hope it's not to long before you get your own room. Good luck with the swaddle weaning. I will tackle that in about 3 weeks.
________________________________________
I have had Isabelle in her bassinette in her room for her last couple of naps. DH is home sick and has been napping in the bedroom, coughing and spluttering everywhere. I think she likes the security of the bassinette as she didn't cry at all when I put her into it. If she sleeps for a decent length in it tonight then I might try to keep her in her room tonight. Means I will have to get up and feed her in the chair but oh well. The only problem is that she is head to toe in it so we won't be able to use it much longer.
She has been pretty good today and I thought that she even seemed like her old self. She hasn't fussed much during the last two days and has been pretty content by herself for a while. She must be feeling better. It's the nights where she is all messed up though.

Hi Sam - don't mean to be a party pooper but Caden's eyes could still change to your beautiful brown eyes. My nephew had the most gorgeous blue eyes that "transitioned" to brown from around 7mths to 12mths. Having said that his brother has crystal blue eyes and he is 2.5yrs... HANG ON TO THE BLUE EYES FOR YOUR MUMMY CADEN!:flowerz:
And YAY for Caden giving farex a go. I kept Xavier on farex for nearly 2 weeks before introducing anything else - I'm juse taking my time this time around and so far he is enjoying the other foods I've been slowly introducing. I bought a blender today to get stuck into pureeing - both girls were on bought tins/jars - so see how long I last :p
And what was your hubby thinking! He should know that if he wanted to show you off to at least give you a courtesy call for a heads up - but I'm sure you looked fine.

Yep, you sound like me. Don't want to rush it so that's why I thought I'd just stick with farex for at least a week, and then slowly introduce a different vegie every coupla days. I'm hoping I can keep with the homemade foods too .
And what was your hubby thinking! He should know that if he wanted to show you off to at least give you a courtesy call for a heads up - but I'm sure you looked fine.
I know, what the heck was he thinking???!!! No, seriously, I was not pretty. Not that I wear make-up every day or anything, but I hadn't even bothered to really brush my hair (just scraped it back in a pony), and I had a top on the Caden had just puked on. Yeah, I tasted it and thought it was really 'blah' and that was with EBM, so I wouldn't like to try it when it's made with just water, couldn't imagine it being any blander . DH gave it a go too, and nearly spat it out across the room when I told him that he did realise that it was made with EBM. The look on his face was priceless :D. I actually took a photo of him spitting it out but I doubt he'll post that pic up on his blog LOL.
Not too sure how thick you're suppose to make it, but the first batch I made it was really runny, more like thick soup IYKWIM. Must have been OK 'coz Caden ate it right up. I then made another serving a lot thicker and he really didn't like it so much, so today I made it inbetween. That went down OK too. A little messy but still went down .

:laughing::laughing:EBM farex.Layla has to have hers made on soy milk.It actually doesn't taste that bad.She has been on solids for a month now that is why her diet is getting interesting. She also has 3 meals:eek:............what a piglet!
Layla has my eyes and eye shape.I really hope they stay blue as DH has hazel.Oli's turned brown almost straight away.Infact when he was born the midwives said he will have big brown eyes. His eyes are the colour that my late mums were, deep dark brown.I love getting lost in them when he chats to me.
I am so glad i am not the only one who blinds there kids with dummies;).I have also tried putting it the ear repeatedly in the deep of night.
pixie-goodluck moving isabelle into her room.
sam-please post us the pic of Dh.I cook all L's food cause of her allergies.I find it very relaxing cooking baby food.If I do need to use pre brought stuff I use thr Rafferteys Garden brand, very tasty. That is the cereal we use as well.

I had Isabelle in her room all night last night and it went better than expected. I had to get up to her at 10:20pm, 1:30am and 5am. I was expecting a lot worse actually. Each time I gave her the boob and she only had a proper feed at 10:20pm. The other times she just suckled a bit then lost interest. She went straight back into her bassinette without any fussing. All up I was only up for a max 20 mins each time .
I want to try and move her cot and the proper nursing chair from Max's room into her room today. I hope she does as well in her cot as she does in the bassinette :fingerscrossed:.
DH is still home sick. He has a very high temp and can hardly walk. Trying to get him to the doctor though is like trying to draw blood from a stone :banghead:.

Layla is now 6.2kg bare weight,67cm,Hc of 44cm.CHN still worried she isn't gaining enough weight but that could right once she starts to poo.It is possible she doesn't absorb nutrients properley cause everything is slowed down by her bottom.

 Oh Jackie, just saw that it was 2 degrees at 8am in Hobart, so that's gotta make it at least a big fat zero up on your mountain... bbbrrr!!! That puts icicles on my eyelashes just thinking about it! How do you keep your house warm? Gotta have some serious heating system in your house (well, I would have to have some serious heating system in place :D).
yup..............computer frozen.....................dunno.................i f................message......will....get....throu gh...send help............plea
snake eater - yup Avari rhymes with Atari (thats how we got people to pronounce it so it wasn't like a birds house -hehe, figured her generation won't know what Atari was??) ended up being too paranoid to put her in her own room yet, my Dr said heaps of IVF mums get like this, I don't know maybe thats just a good excuse? How is Nigel the chook settling in or I guess she'd be Nigela huh? Had some chooks when I was little, loved collecting the eggs, do they cope OK when it's really cold
Brodie - Glad Layla managed to do some poos, must be a big relief, hope she continues to improve. Wow she says Mummy and Lala am hanging for A to do that it must be so nice :yelclap:
Widget - your sleep pattern sounds sooo famaliar, am putting dummy back constantly, and the alarm went off 3 times this morning, I think 'cause the cot is big and she rolled off it, she looked alive to me (especially as the third time she was smiling at me and kicking her legs around)
Sam - such a cute pic of Caden with the farex, watch out for the pumpkin I've got a pumpkin addict on my hands, all you have to do is say pumpkin and she opens her mouth and starts kicking her legs around :) Am hopeing A's eyes stay blue too but my little sister had blue eyes for her first 2 years then they went hazel -weird huh
no news here - the neighbours house is up for auction and there are people inspecting it am hiding in here with Avari, don't feel like being all neighbourly at the moment - too cold.

flippin'eck you werren't joking/exaggerating about Layla standing. that's incredible.
busy morning here people - somehow in the space of a fe whours I managed to blow a heap of money - on nothing much just "stuff we need". leave sme feeling a bit uneasy though I must admit - that's just coz $ has been so tight recently and now we get an injection- kinds like we're catching up.
anyway among all that odette got a new maisy book (maisy's fire engine) - also got a roast chick for tonight. HOORAY!
sam - forgot to say how clever caden is for taking to solids straight away! Odette now eats fresh apple as well as pear! and is transitioning to 2 x meals a day. that was a very funny story as well abotu your DH and the EBM farex. I'm also a bit like you and hope odette doesnt lose her blue eyes. neither DH nor I have blue eyes but have family members with them. I have hazel and DH has brown eyes. The blue eyes really suit her.
Hoping to take her bottles down from 4-3 a day over the next coupla months. I'd like to have her off them by 1 yr - is that normal/reasonable?:detective:
she is currently over at her nan's place asleep.. meant i could go and have a meeting/get work done. I think i'm going to be offered a permanent 2 day a week research position. this is damn good. it'd bring in enough money to really sock it to the fortnightly mortgage payments.
sai - nigela is still vageuly ostracised. she's slowly getting to know the others more, but i've noticed a different dynamic now Ron (rooster) has gone. I miss Ron, he was a gorgeous gentle and majestic rooster. Where did you find Avari from? a book? or a character? or is it your creation? (sorry if you've had to tell people over and over again)
amy must be going completely apesh!t with her brithday - havent heard from her since.
hello to everyone reading this - hope your weeks are going well.
must dash bye!

Jackie-Layla loves nothing more than a good stand! That is my sisters hand in the pic as she gets worried about the big tumble:laughing:.Layla was stealing her brothers dinner and he was cracking it:hissy:.That roast chook sounds great! It is lambcutlets and veg for me tonight.
Had a huge day out.Hit The slavos to get a few beanies for Layla and round the house gear for Oli.We also just wandered around and got Oli a hair cut.I had to take advantage of the warm day as it will probably rain for 2 weeks again tomorrow:rolleyes:
Becca's gotta get jabbed again tomorrow! I can't believe she's 6 months already!! :(
Oh... She ROLLED today!! Back to belly!! :smiliedance: We have a milestone!!! :D
i have nothing constructive to say... been wollowing in sorrows of late... stupid money...
Oh... Sam it is possible that Caden's eye's wont change. Annabelle has the bluest eyes I've ever seen (from MIL) and I have deep, deep brown eyes... Becca's have just gone brown from blue (completely skipped hazel) and I get so lost in them...

Hi all,
Tough day here today. DH is still home sick. He has been diagnosed with pneumonia. He is getting better but he can't help me out at all with the kids. I am trying to get the house clean for the housesitter, get all our gear washed and packed and am also trying to get the heater fixed before we go. The split system died again (only had it fixed two weeks ago) and I really want to get it fixed before we go away so the sitter has some heat.
Isabelle slept poorly last night in her room so I ended up bringing her into bed at 2am to try and get a bit of sleep. I hope she does better tonight :fingerscrossed:. Ahhhhh noooo, I can hear her stirring and it's only 9:15pm :(.
Jeez I'm a bit of a misery guts tonight aren't I ladies? Sorry.
Um just trying to think of anything positive to report on.I know..... I have two gorgeous kids and a wonderful husband :).
No milestones for Isabelle lately. She has mastered rolling and did about 6 rolls at once the other day. She ended up halfway across the living room. I gave her an empty chip packet today and it completely fascinated her for so long. Better than any toy. Still not liking solids so I will try again when we get to QLD.
Better go

Evening Ladies
Had a good day shopping today, Alyssa has stopping sleeping in her pram so she chucked 2 tantys cos she was tired and couldnt manage to drop off eventually she had a lil sleep, it was strange as i wasnt out for that long and she hadnt been awake for that long either. Shes been very tired lately i think this may be her way of coping with her immunisation on Monday.
I picked up some good 6m+ toys although i was a lil disappointed with the variety i went with something in mind n just never found it hehe oh well!
Snakeeater - Naw Maisy, shes so cute. How is Odette with books? do u read to her every night? I want to start incorperating that into Alyssa's nightly routine. mmm how was the chicken?
Brodie - wow go Layla! shes so strong! Poor Oli trying to eat his dinner and being taunted hehe im sure they will love each other when they are older...maybe hehe
That picture is priceless...definatly one for the 21st birthday slideshow hehe
Widget - Go Becca!! Good luck with the jabs im sure she will do fine and just remember no more till 12months! yayee
Bec - Im so sorry to hear about ur DH. How horrible it must be for him feeling so rough and not being able to help u. U must be wonder woman caring for 3 babies ;) alone
Doing the call around tomorrow to see if any BabyonaBudget's have size 0 brightbots swimmers. im sure at least ONE will have it hehehe im determined d@mmit!
Must sleep now, so very exhausted today
Widget - Go Becca!! Good luck with the jabs im sure she will do fine and just remember no more till 12months! yayee
Maybe she's having a growth spurt??
You have no idea how quickly the next 6 months will go!!
I can't believe that next month Annabelle will be TWO!!! Where does the time go???
Bec - pneumonia is no good, hope he gets better soon
Snake Eater - (is it Jackie, am still trying to work out who's who??) hope Nigela fits in soon.
I found the name Avari searching for names by what they mean, it means from the heavens & is a variation of Ava which means Eagle (I'd had alot of bird dreams while pregnant so liked the meaning thing -sounds a bit airy fairy I know) I've since found out that it's also a name Tolkien gave to a tribe of elves, figured that's ok:)
Brodie - glad to hear I'm not the only one raiding the salvo's and Vinnies for beanies etc, got a really cute fred bare dress there not so long ago.
decided to try out the playgroup up the road today, called a bit over a week ago and a message was left on my phone saying I should just show up and see how I liked it, only problem, walked all the way there and noone else was there??? waited half an hour - no one, checked with some random bystanders they all said it was usually on, so have no idea what happened, tried to call the mobile I had but no answer? weird huh :o

Had a good day shopping today.
Ooohhh, I love a good shopping trip. I had one of those yesterday. Went a lil' wild at Target. Got a jumper and scarf for me, some cord pants, bibs and a beanie for Caden, as well as some face creme and nail polish :yelclap:.

Aaawww, both your kiddies are so very cute. And yes, Layla is a strong lil' one.
sam - forgot to say how clever caden is for taking to solids straight away! Odette now eats fresh apple as well as pear! and is transitioning to 2 x meals a day. that was a very funny story as well about your DH and the EBM farex.
Yeah, Caden seems to be loving the farex. He had some more yesterday and today, and now I'm making it quite thick and he's taking it no probs. Just like his father, looooooooooves his food . I think come the weekend I'm gonna give pumpkin a go. So speak to me after that 'coz it might be a different story LOL. Well done with Odette taking apple and pear, sounds like she's a real fruit-loving type of gal!
I'm also a bit like you and hope odette doesnt lose her blue eyes. neither DH nor I have blue eyes but have family members with them. I have hazel and DH has brown eyes. The blue eyes really suit her.
Well, here's hoping for both our kiddies. I seriously thought that Caden's eyes are now gonna stay blue, I've been telling everyone how I love his eyes and am so happy that he got his daddy's eyes. If they change I'm gonna be eating my own words LOL!
I think i'm going to be offered a permanent 2 day a week research position. this is damn good. it'd bring in enough money to really sock it to the fortnightly mortgage payments.
Hooray for the job prospect! Will it be from home as well?
Oh... Sam it is possible that Caden's eye's wont change. Annabelle has the bluest eyes I've ever seen (from MIL) and I have deep, deep brown eyes... Becca's have just gone brown from blue (completely skipped hazel) and I get so lost in them...
Keep your :fingerscrossed: for me that my bubba keeps his blue eyes, just like Annabelle did!
Well, we've had a good coupla days here. As DH is away I've managed to score dinner at my Mum's both last night and tonight. She has also been very kind to look after Caden whilst my sister and I went to the gym. Yep, still keeping that up, been two weeks already... hooray! LOL!!! If I can keep doing 3 classes a week I'll be happy. Big day planned for tomorrow. Heading into the city to have lunch with some of the girls from work, then heading over to my Mum's in the arvo so we can hit the shops, and then tomorrow night got another class at the gym. Hopefully Mum will make enough dinner to feed me too (I'm sure she will, can't let her eldest daughter starve... hehe!).
Oh, some exciting news. As DH has to fly out on Sunday to go to Adelaide for the week (yes, that's right, he gets back home on Friday evening and then has to fly out again on Sunday morning... starting to feel like a single mummy... hehe!). Anyway, as he has to be in Adelaide next week and airfares are surprisingly cheap ATM, Caden and I are going with him! Yay!!! So during the week we'll be staying in the city (Caden and I will shop while DH works), and then come Friday we are going to head out to the Barossa Valley for the weekend. We then fly back home on Sunday evening. So an impromptu holiday for the three of us. Can't wait! Hopefully Caden will be a good boy on the plane.
Anyway, it's getting late, I think I'm gonna express and then head off to bed. Nitey-nite, sweet dreams and here's hoping that all Dec bubbas sleep well for their mummies (especially those that are new to sleeping in their cots in their own rooms!).
Bye!
Sam...

Isabelle went surprisingly well last night, in her room, in her cot. I feel like I actually got some sleep. She did her usual wake at 10:20pm so I stayed up for it. Then she woke at 2:30am for a feed and that was it! Yay! She did wake at 3:30am but I managed to resettle her pretty quickly .
Not much else happening. Quite day again as DH is still sick.
Bec
It's good that Isabelle's settling into her new room/cot well for you!!

Very quickly..dh, myself, and Lachie all have some virus that is giving us chronic sinus headaches and cramps in the lower belly..not pleasant. Started Sunday and still lurking about.
Birthday went well..got a whole bunch of things..a few that were cool like a Kimmidoll (some collectable Asian wooden doll that embodies a spirit). Mine is called SAI and means: talents. I got Toblerone and fresh licorice. Then some things that defy explanation: a scarf/hat/gloves set (he bought me one a few years back on mother's day and then a friend bought me another for my b/day straight after I bemoaned to her I don't even wear scarves?!?), book of words for doing cryptic crosswords (hmm, not something I usually do..but..???), some kind of large crystal that reminds me of The Hope Diamond (lol *shrugs* not sure what to do with it).
Brittany made me a bday cake and brought it over on the bus. It was so incredibly yum.
I haven't had a mum for many years now and having someone bake me a birthday cake was so special.
Gotta dash..pick up Selia then lay down for a bit.
Dane is going well..trying new foods but only eating once a day.
Will catch up with personals in the next day or so.
Amy:)

I found bathers! yayee. Called around a few places this morning then trekked out to Babyonabudget in Cannington - which is oh so huge and i wish i could have walked around there for hrs but it was A's nap time hehe. They are Banz ones and size 6-18m  hehe bit big but will do nicely indeed.
Amy - so sorry to hear u are sick!! such a shame on ur birthday but glad ot hear it didnt manage to ruin it. How sweet that ur DD baked u a cake and carted it around on a bus :)
Widget - it may very well be a growth spurt. Im dying to get her weighed i can definatly feel the changes in her, shes so heavy now! hehe
Bec - thats great about Isabelle! she will be settled in her room in no time by the sounds of it :)
Sam - ooo just jetsetting off to Adelaide huh? hehe lucky for some! Im sure Caden will switch on his charm and be wonderful on the plane
Sai - what a bummer that the playgroup wasnt there! have u called to see what happened? maybe it was cancelled this week.
Fish and chips for tea tonight...being naughty hehe shhh:rolleyes:
Hi Crew!
How good is the 6 month mark??!! I am really enjoying this age - Hugh is so hilarious and fun...and demanding at playtime!!! And I've been told that it only gets better...woo hoo!
All going well - H is eating 3 x solid meals a day and 4 x milk feeds during the day. Still wakes up at 11pm and 4 or 5 am, but I'm not too stressed about it...figure he will grow out of it soon enough.
We're starting swim classes tomorrow - have been wanting to do swim classes for ages, so hopefully H loves it.
Take care everyone

. DH gave it a go too, and nearly spat it out across the room when I told him that he did realise that it was made with EBM. The look on his face was priceless :D.
lmao..hold onto that pic..you might need to blackmail him sometime:laughing:. I have a confession to make. I ate Dane's leftover portion of Farex the other day..it tasted fantastic..then I realised it was made with formula..*spit blech spit*. I usually like it with sugar and real milk.
Can't imagine Caden's eye colour changing now. My rule of thumb with my own kids was if I could see the red blood spot behind the eye they would stay blue..if there was a dark shadow they would go brown *shrugs..really scientific hey?*lol.

Perfectly. Have you tried her with a sippy cup yet? Dane is not so impressed with it atm..but I will keep offering it. Once he takes to it I will wean him from the bottles.
I think i'm going to be offered a permanent 2 day a week research position. this is damn good. it'd bring in enough money to really sock it to the fortnightly mortgage payments.

amy must be going completely apesh!t with her brithday - havent heard from her since.
I wish..lol..just so rotten sick. It involves headaches, joint aches, and pains that feel like uterine contractions *ouch*. The headaches build over the day and sitting in front of a puter makes them worse. Poor Lachie had a bad one last night that made him cry. I hate it when he gets that sick poor lamb.
Glad your chook is settling in. I understand you missing the rooster though. When I was a teen I bought a bright green chick (food dye) from the shopping centre at Easter-time. I hand raised it in a cardboard box beside my bed with a lamp to keep it warm. I was a good chicken-mummy:D.
A few months later I went to camp and when I returned Choko was gone. My stepfather had discovered it was a male and we weren't allowed any roosters where we lived:crying:.
Yay to Odette liking the two fruits. I very wickedly gave Dane a Homebrand gingernut biscuit the other day. They are really gingery and I thought he would balk..but he LOVED IT! It melted in his saliva really quickly until it was just a sliver. Not in a hurry to give him another as the sugar content:eek: but it was funny watching him destroy it..lol.
Best go..head is feeling rotten again. Back to more personals tomorrow.
Hugs,
Amy:)
6 month stats:
Height: 68cm
Weight:7.6kg
HC: 40cm
Not too different to her sis... Annabelle was 68 long, 8.8kgs with a HC of 42...
I swear Annabelle was in 0's by 6 months though, Becca's still in 00's...
got a whole bunch of things..a few that were cool like a Kimmidoll (some collectable Asian wooden doll that embodies a spirit). Mine is called SAI and means: talents.
he he - glad it means talents and not something bad. 'tis a nick name given to me in high school
funny you got that just when I've been chatting about name meanings. Glad you got good prezzies!
Just looked at them on line - I want one - will have to hint about namesake doll to DH
Found out that the playgroup went on an excursion so thats why no one was there, the organiser nicely called me back apologising, doesn't matter I needed the exercise the walk gave me anyway, so I'll try again next week if it's not raining.
Avari has her shots tomorrow :crying: hope she doesn't cry as much as last time :fingerscrossed:

William had his 6 months check up and needles yesterday...
Weight: 10.2 kg
Height: 74cm
HC:44.5cm
He is as grumpy as ever now I hate immunisation time it throws his whole routine flying out of whack. It's taken 2.5 hours to get him asleep. Hopefully it will be a big sleep and he wakes up happy. Better get some work done
Hi all. Hope all the bubs and mums are doing well. Things are good here. Ava is now 6 months old. I can't believe how fast time has gone. 1st birthdays will be here before we know it!!
Noticed that some mums have had their 6 month check up at MCHN. Mine didn't want to see me until July to see how we went with solids but I think I am going to drop into an open session they have so I can get Ava weighed. We are interested to see where she is at especially length. I have had a lot of people comment lately that she seems long.
Well hope everyone has a great day and all the bubs are good to their mums.
hi girls! yeah I cant believe our babies are 6 months old already! Its gone so fast! Nice to see all the bubs are growing well...
Maverick- William is nice and big! 10 kilos already! wow!
madison is now crawling and scooting all around the house! yesterday i was sitting on the floor with her and she managed to pull herself up to an almost standing position! She didnt stand all the way up, but half way! She is doing things alot faster than any of my other kids did..must be her eagerness to run around like her big sisters and brothers! She still has no teeth..oh well I know she will get them eventually. her sleeps are getting shorter and shorter..she has a morning sleep for about 20 minutes and an hour sleep in the afternoon. She does sleep pretty good at night tho..from about 9pm-7am...tho she wakes 1-2 times for a bottle but goes right back to sleep. Im taking her next week for her immunizations..she dosnt need a checkup with the health nurse until 8 months but Im going to pop in there and have her weighed and measured next week as well. She is in 0 size clothes now. well thats about it for me today...I have heaps of housework to do! Hi to you all! hope you all have a nice weekend
Noticed that some mums have had their 6 month check up at MCHN.
I don't see the MCHN at all. When they get their 6 month immunisations they get weighed and measured...

OMG!! Becca's only rolled once and it was only half way... Couldn't imagine her crawling yet!! She does try to get on all fours, but hasn't quite mastered it yet. Becca doesn't have any teeth yet either. Hope Madison's sleeping gets more overnight for you, I won't mention Becca's sleeping patterns LOL. Size 0 gee. I was going through Annabelle's old clothes looking for winter stuff for Becca and found her 2006 Christmas outfit, Annabelle was only in 00 at 6 months so I'm not so "concerned" (can't find the right word) about the differences, they are pretty even thus far...
I've got Hugh's 6 month check up in 2 weeks time...he'll be almost 7 months by then!
I had him weighed etc last week when he had his immunisations and his stats were:
w: 9.25 kgs
l: 72 cms
He is sitting up and rolling over but not crawling yet. A couple of times I've left him sitting and gone to do something and when I get back he's moved to his tummy and then rolled over...so he's definitely on the move! He still loves to stand up too - with my help of course!!
We had our first swimming class today and Hugh LOVED it. It was so funny watching him go underwater. Can't wait for next week already!
Have a lovely weekend everyone :flowerz:

Hi ladies,
This is my last post before I head off to Airlie for 10 days :sunshine:. Don't know when or if I will be able to post up there.
All is well here. DH is getting better slowly. Isabelle has been going great in her own room. This morning she slept in until 8:30am (she usually gets up at 6:30am).
I've booked her 6 month shots and checkup for when we get back.

Sounds like it was the week of immunisations i must say though Alyssa's stats never got done :/ bit disappointed actually cos i really wnat them done but have to wait till next tuesday for the open clinic. i was a bit annoyed as the receptionist came to the door of the treatment room n was like 'i have a lazy here who thinks her child has chickenpox can u check' and she had the bl00dy lady n child with her! i felt like saying 'uhm excuse me can u not come in here then' to me it wasnt very considerate.
Prudie - wowee Hugh sounds like a nice tall boy!! glad to hear he loved his swimming we definatly have some water babies here! musta been the summer vibes hehe
DJ - Madison sounds like such a strong baby! i think ur right about her wanting to play with her siblings! I hope the overnight sleeps start to stretch out for you.
Maverick - Sounds like William is thriving! I hope he is feeling better today, jabs can be so unsettling :(
Sai - hope the shots went well today and bub has been happy!
Avababy - Hows the solids going? have u introduced many new foods?

That is SO rude!! You were already in there!! and to possibly expose Alyssa to them is just atrocious!! They don't get immunised for chicken pox until 18 months...
Nah, she's not on solids yet, have to try again, last time she still wasn't ready. I don't think she is yet either, but won't know for sure until I try...

MaverickCowgirl: Wow but William is doing well in the growing stakes. Will you shorten his name to Bill or Billy or will you stick with William? My eldest daughter is Brittany and I wouldn't let anyone shorten it to Britt..didn't like the name..but I shorten it to Brie myself(lol). Lachlan is Lachie and Selia is Seals..can't do much with Dane though:)
Widget: Rebecca is growing along beautifully too. They can be so different to their siblings in terms of growth can't they. As to food..at this age it is more experimentation than nutrition so just expose her to a wide variety. They get a liking for the things we ate during pregnancy. What did you crave? I ate a whole field of mushrooms..lol.
Still in the 00's here but lately I have been pulling the sleeves down frequently as they ride up..might be time to go to 0's.
Hugs to active Annabelle.
Sai: They really are cute little dolls. I am thinking about buying a few more..lol. Hope you get your namesake. How did Avari go with her needles?
How come the playgroup went on an excursion and didn't invite you? Or was that your first visit? I did your trick the other day..I walked all the way to our local IGA (which is a very long way when you are sick), only to discover it had closed for good the day b4. No warning the last time I was there..just a spur of the moment closing. Was I ever ticked! First the doctor goes, now the shop. Not good for the people in the retirement village right across the road.
xlouxloux: How thoughtless of that nurse to expose Alyssa to the chickenpox virus. Fingers crossed she doesn't end up with it.
What kind of bouncer/walker did you end up with? Something Alyssa can sit upright in like a playcentre?
Avababy: Agghh..don't wish their first birthdays upon us yet..lol..I am with you on how fast they have grown to date though..toooo fast!
So Ava is a long bub..netball, basketball? lol.
DJWebb: Hi hon..hope you have a great weekend. Gee but Madison is a busy beaver. I had one of those out of the four but Dane is probably my slowest to everything so far.
Maddy must be so much fun for the other kids though. Selia and Lachlan are playing with Dane more and more.
Do you let your kids pick Madison up? I am still a bit dodgy on that with mine (except Brittany)..unless he is falling out of his bouncer and they need to put him back in, or sit and hold him on the lounge while I duck to the loo..but I would feel stressed if they wanted to carry him around etc.
Pixiemum2: God love ya..enjoy Airlie Beach *sooo jealous*. Don't even bother worry about a puter to chat with us..we are boring by comparison to a great holiday in the sun:laughing:
I hope you have a great time away with Isabelle and your dh.
Prudie: another good swimmer! Great that Hugh loved it. It must be an enjoyable activity for a mum and bub. Will get there one day.
Sounds like Hugh is growing really well..and sitting by himself:smiliedance:. Dane would fall to his face..lol..but he does love rolling.
Still no teeth here. Rolling both ways and sitting and standing with help or props. I gave him natural yoghurt and mashed banana yesterday and he pulled faces but ate a few tspoons. This morning I gave him toast (wholemeal crust) with vegemite and he devoured it! Gummed it until there was little left. I kept having to pull out big chunks so he didn't choke but he got feisty and grabbed my hand to put it back in..lol. No funny faces with vegemite though. Will limit the amount he has due to salt content but nice to see he is indoctrinated already:yelclap:.
Had both school-age kids home yesterday..one with headaches and coughing, the other woke vomiting and continued for a few hours..the second she stopped being sick she begged for food..always been like that..lol. Cast iron constitution.
Hope everyone is having a wonderful weekend. I am doing washing, housecleaning, and resting.
Hugs,
Amy:)
Haven't read yet, been out all day...
I started this thread (http://www.bubhub.com.au/community/forums/showthread.php?p=2779770#post2779770) today and was wondering if any of you wise and wonderful mummies have any input that you can give me, I'm getting all confuzzled with the topic of solids now...

:hugs:V..you sound really stressed. It would seem to me that someone comes up with some whacky idea, gives it a catchy name, and you suddenly have to do a university course to understand all the rules of this new thing. "Baby led weaning"..what the heck is that? lol. Sometimes the old fashioned ideas work the best. Your mum/aunty/friend-with-kids would be a great person to talk with about feeding.
There are tons of great books too, or there is a free booklet that the MACH nurse can supply called From Milk to More. I actually think that would be your best option as a starter.
Try that and see how things go..but don't let some 'fad' thing strip your confidence in your mothering ability. Annabelle is thriving and so will Rebecca.
Amy:)
I'm just so confused about it all... Becca spits the purees out but she loves rusk sticks... So I'm thinking that baby led weaning might be the way to go with her... From what I understand of it, instead of pureeing their foods, you cook them so they can grab them and taste and learn about food their own way... Rather than spoon feeding them a soggy mixture. That way they also learn to eat what the family does...
Annabelle is still spoon fed...

Have you tried her with a sippy cup yet? Dane is not so impressed with it atm..but I will keep offering it. Once he takes to it I will wean him from the bottles.
really- as in he will still have milk but from a sippy cup? when (roughly) is this viable?
nah havent tried the cup yet here bt it'son the list of things to get over the next few weeks. anyone know - should i be cleaning the 2 tiny teeth just yet? they arent even the whole way through yet.
I wish..lol..just so rotten sick. It involves headaches, joint aches, and pains that feel like uterine contractions *ouch*. The headaches build over the day and sitting in front of a puter makes them worse. Poor Lachie had a bad one last night that made him cry. I hate it when he gets that sick poor lamb.
wow that sounds like a blinder that one. I havent been sick yet this season, and now looking forward to when odette gets sick the first time. (what a silly thing to say, who would be looking forward to it?)
6 month stats:
Height: 68cm
Weight:7.6kg
HC: 40cm
Not too different to her sis... Annabelle was 68 long, 8.8kgs with a HC of 42...
I swear Annabelle was in 0's by 6 months though, Becca's still in 00's...
odette is in 0s now. 00s are too short in the leg. Good healthy bundle you have there at 6 months widget- well done!
William had his 6 months check up and needles yesterday...
Weight: 10.2 kg
Height: 74cm
HC:44.5cm
look at this one go! finally a baby heavier than odette!
Hi all. Hope all the bubs and mums are doing well. Things are good here. Ava is now 6 months old. I can't believe how fast time has gone. 1st birthdays will be here before we know it!!
it's a worry isn't it.
am interested to hear about ava's stats.
I've got Hugh's 6 month check up in 2 weeks time...he'll be almost 7 months by then!
I had him weighed etc last week when he had his immunisations and his stats were:
w: 9.25 kgs
l: 72 cms
another biggun!
i was a bit annoyed as the receptionist came to the door of the treatment room n was like 'i have a lazy here who thinks her child has chickenpox can u check' and she had the bl00dy lady n child with her! i felt like saying 'uhm excuse me can u not come in here then' to me it wasnt very considerate.
how ridiculous. in hindsight i'd be feeling like that too. it's annoying how I often get flustered in the moment and don'y say something and then later think "oh I really should have said something".
think thats enough for me tonight, heading to toys r us tomorrow for a bouncer/walker type contraption
did you get it? any good?
well odette is 7 months today! Happy 6 months to Caden as well (he's the only birthday i know well as he is exactly 1 month and 1 day younger than odette.
apple and pear still going great guns, havent diversified yet, thinking of doing so on the weekend coming. no idea what, maybe baby yogurt - is this any good? anyone know?
very cold down here today, heater been on low in odette's room most of the day. I know there was other stuff I wanted to say but typically i start the post and amnesia kicks in. might have to come back and make another when i remember what it was.

wow, there's some variety there. what sort of yoghurt was it? look at dane go with the bread, i wouldnt be game to try it yet out of fear of choking, but you obviously have experience and know-how on your side. maybe i could think of trying it at one point.
odette is sleeping a lot more in the day these days- currently she has roughly 3 x sleeps:
around 9, then 12, then 4 (ish). the first 2 can often be 1.5-2 hours as well.
6 Month Stats
7.5kg
67cm tall
She went ok with the shots not as much crying as last time but has been a bit out of sorts over the weekend and got a big bruise on one leg (the Dr's one, had the nurse & Dr go 1.2.3 jab at the same time - ouch)
They say all is normal and good with her :yelclap:
Tried a rusk last night she loved it, but it ended up on the floor & then the cat sniffed it so got chucked pretty quick.
Hope everyone is well!

what sort of yoghurt was it?
It was just a natural yoghurt that I make in the Ezi Yo (love that thing!). You can add your own mashed fruit if you want. The baby yoghurt sounds good too though as it is supposed to be easy on the tummy I think.
I made him eggless custard today with full cream milk; vanilla essence; sugar; and thickened with cornflour. He ate more of that than he has of anything else. Devoured it. I am expecting him to be about 20kgs by the time I next get him weighed:laughing:
look at dane go with the bread, i wouldnt be game to try it yet out of fear of choking,
I use a thick crust and toast it with a scraping of marg and vegemite. He just adores it and when he does manage to gum off a bit he moves it to the front of his mouth where I retrieve it. He is nuts for the stuff..lol.

Go Odette! Good sleeping for mum, that's the ticket. Pretty much the same as Dane but I think he sleeps less overnight..around 9hrs.
Looking forward to Odette getting sick?.
Try to coincide it with a week when you are feeling extra healthy and well rested..unfortunately that isn't the case most times.
Just glad Odette has had such excellent health to date. It's rotten when they have older siblings who mix with sick kids at school and then bring it home to bub (and their parents! cough splutter oh-my-aching-head). lol.
Best dash. Spag bol for tea.

helloooo well its been a bit of a mish mash of sorts today. I think the dreaded teeth are playin up. We've had alot of chomping on the plastic part of the dummy and red cheeks this weekend.
Had her passport photos taken today but have to have it all in before july 1st before the law changes on the size of pic u use. confusing but easily done. pic turned out kinda cute, she looks hell chubby though haha.
aww all this talk of stats! i want A weighed properly now!!
I did sit her on my electric scales toay with clothes on n it came up 8.1kg so i might try again after her bath naked. they are accurate as she sits well but who knows.
OH before i forget, i got a kolcraft sit to step activity centre, at the moment its like a bouncer thing with a seat in the middle n she can spin and rock around then it converts into a walk behind push along contraption. A loves it cos she can spin things and they make noises n songs and she can do her favorite thing STAND! without me holding her up hehe. shes very proud
Amy - ooo i tried A with some crust of my sandwich the other day and she loved it, there was no spread on it but she sucked the crust n was asking for more hehe. Go Dane, how aussie of him getting into the vegemite already hehe
Sai - ouch! dont know if id like to be jabbed from both sides but at least it got it out of the way faster! A had some lumps on her legs for a few days after her jabs but they have gone now. i hope Ava recovers quick!
Snakeeater - i have the vaalia baby yoghurt but A isnt so keen on it by itsself, have yet to try it with anything else added yet. I tried it and its okay, bit tart though.
Netball tonight! its so cold though im not looking forward to going out, its indoor but id rather stay home in my pjs hehe.
Hope everyones start to the week was nice :goodvibes:

god that typo made me look like a bit of a psycho. definitely NOT looking forward to odette getting sick.
Just got back from Neurosurgeon appointment for Annabelle...
We go back to see him YEARLY from now on!!! YAY!!
Also said that we won't need to do another MRI, maybe in a couple of YEARS just to make sure the spinal cord is still doing what it's supposed to!!
Good news all round! He was the first of her Drs to see her walk!! :D

snake eater: glad to know it was a typo..lol. I didn't think you were a psycho..just thought you wanted her immune system challenged or something. I hope Odette stays healthy through winter:fingerscrossed:..there are so many nasties floating about.
xlouxloux: How did netball go? I reckon it would take a bit to convince me to leave a warm house and go out into the night these days..but the endorphin kick would make it all worthwhile.
Go Alyssa with the crust! Dane looks like a feral animal gnawing on a bone..and almost growls when I try to take it away..lol.
Can you scan the passport pic and use it as your avatar? How sweet that she will have an official document with her name on it. I still get a kick out of seeing boybee's name on official things. He has his own Medicare card:yes: cause they couldn't fit him on the other one with the rest of us.
Widget: What fine news! To know you can relax for a bit must be awesome. What did the doctor say when he saw Annabelle walking?
Not so quiet one today. Selia convinced me she should stay home today as she has a head cold. I wish I had sent her to school..she is far too energetic for a sick person *agghhh*.
We had parent/teacher interviews last night and it was a relief to hear good comments about the kids. When I used to attend Brittany's I would wear boxing gloves..lol.
Dane woke at 5:30am for a feed..ewww nasty time of the morning. He went back for a nap til school run time..then had another feed when we got back..then some jolly jumper time where we introduced him to soccer (move over Harry Kewl..lol); then he devoured almost half a Weetbix before going down for his nap. Hopefully he will sleep til nearly 1pm.
I had best take off and feed Selia..and catch up on Dr Phil.
I took some film of Dane playing soccer this morning..unfortunately I held the camera sideways and haven't got the editing program to turn it right way up..hope you don't get a crick in the neck..lol.

Amy - I love that video of Dane, look at him go! He has grown up so much since that first pic you put up of him in his jolly jumper. It sounds like he is doing so well with his solids also.
Lou - You are brave going out in the cold weather! I used to take myself off swimming most nights in England all year round but it was nice and heated inside. I dont know that i would be so motivated to do it nowdays LOL and now I am in Brissie!
Widget - That is great that Annabelle is doing so well. You must be so relieved :smiliedance:
Andi has not been well, I took her to the dr last week as she had a chesty cough and all seemed ok, but i took her back to get checked again on Monday as she was not getting any better and he said she had bronchial pneumonia so she is now on antibiotics. DD1 was very sick the week before with a bad chest infection so I guess she passed it on to Andi. The antibiotics have worked really well which is a huge relief. I hope they dont get sick again this winter. I remember the awful flu going around late july last year so I hope we avoid that if it comes round again. Andi was supposed to have her 6 month jabs soon but the dr wants her to wait a few weeks now until she gets better.
Sorry to miss so many people, I hope everyone is going well.
katesmate - Hope Andi is feeling better soon and those bugs stay out of your house.
snake eater - I am getting Ava weighed etc tomorrow at the open clinic so will let you know her stats.
lou lou - just had the girl on the basic sort of stuff potato, sweet potato, broccoli, carrot, zucchini, avocado, apple, pear. Want to give the baby yoghurt a go but wasnt sure. How about you?
amy - look at Dane go. he just might make the side for world cup!!
Not much news here. I was suppost to go to SATC today for babe in arms movie but the other mum from my mothers group couldn't make it. I was so upset. I have been looking forward to it all week. Not to worry I might get to go another time. Ava is doing well with her sitting and wriggling on her tummy. Looks like she is making efforts to get off and crawl. She gets on all fours and rocks back and forward. Yesterday DH was on the floor with her coaching her how to crawl. Very cute and very entertaining.
Well hope all the mums and bubs are doing well and are being good. Have a great one.

How awful Jo! OMG..you must be so exhausted and worried. I hope the antibiotics kick in really quickly. Brittany was my sick baby..better when she got a bacterial pnuemonia than a viral one 'cause at least she could get a jab of penicillin and within 72hrs would be on the mend. The viral version kicked on longer.
I so feel for you hon.
:hugs:
I am forever telling my kids to back off from Dane when they are sick..then we get to school and their little friends swarm the pram and put their faces right up to his:hair:.
Let us know how Andi goes.
Amy
Don't congratulate me!! Only reason I'm going back is because DF's had 3 days work in 3 weeks...
I really, really don't want to go back!!
No, we haven't got childcare for the girls yet... But one of us at least has to be bringing in some money... If he happens to get work we'll have to work on a day by day basis on those days, but because Thursdays is so hard to get childcare for, I'm going to make Thursdays my day off rather than Fridays...
My boss is of course rather excited that I'm going back 6 months early!! She ran around and made sure there was a desk and PC available for me to return and everything this arvo...
It was either Monday week or this coming Tuesday... I didn't want either so flipped a coin for it...
Last time they asked me how I was and I burst into tears... They better not ask me this time, I have a closer bond with Becca!! I will more than burst into tears!!
AND to make it all that much worse, my hours will be 9:30am til 6pm...
Good 'ol DF had to move so far out that once the girls do go into care I couldn't get to work before 9:30am coz it takes me 2 hours to get to work from here - driving and Public Transport!!! The Pre-school doesn't open til 7:30am so I can't leave here any earlier than that...
I'm gonna go sulk on the lounge...

Go Ava for being on her crawling L-plates (so cute your dh is training her:D) and sitting up!:yelclap:. Dane is a slow boy..no sitting without loads of help, and only bum up during tummy time but no pushing up with his arms yet.
He did say his first big word this morning though: dad-dad-dad...traitor! Who did the midnight feeds? Who breastfed him? Who pushed him into this world? ..no loyalty. Can't wait until he says mum.
Hope you get another chance to see SATC on the big screen soon.

Hi ladies,
I'm posting from the beautiful Whitsundays!.....well, Airlie Beach :).
DH joined me yesterday after four days by myself. BIL, FIL and DH sailed the new boat up from Brisbane and it is stunning. We are all going sailing tomorrow. MIL didn't cope as well as I would have liked with the kids (she came up with me, SIL and our kids). She was going mental after two days. She just can't handle the intensity 24/7. SIL and myself are used to it though.
The weather is ok but not quite hot enough for swimming. Max isn't keen on the water anyway.
Isabelle is in our room so I haven't been sleeping much. Max is waking up about 3 times per night in his cot in the other room. Then there is DH and his snoring!!! Ahhhhh! :hair:. Not much of a holiday but oh well. At least it is a change of scenery and Max is having so much fun with his cousins.
We have been trying Isabelle with solids every day up here. She is getting better and is maybe taking 1/2 teasoon all up at each sitting. She much prefers the home cooked to the jar.
I did manage to squeeze in an hour massage and an hour facial which was bliss.
Not much else happening. Will try and pop on again in a few days.

Hugs just won't cover this one hon. In a perfect world you would stay at home until you were ready to go back. It's tough I know, particularly when you have had such a good baby experience with Becca and now Annabelle is walking and all.
It sounds like you are very wanted and needed at work though, is it a job you enjoy?
I guess until you are actually in the thick of it doing the travel (2hrs:eek:..is that one way??) you won't know how do-able it will be...and there will be an adjustment period of getting your working stamina back and settling into a daily routine too.
I am sorry it has come down to this when you are clearly not happy about it.

I hope you know I am living vicariously through your holiday Bec so make sure you get a full body massage and at least one child free day .
Dang but your MIL and mine sound like twins I swear. Mine told me the kids are not welcome to stay at her house..apparently they talk too much (hello..they don't see you very often and get excited when they do see you!).
Sorry but I just had to laugh when I read about your sleeping arrangements and the bit about your dh snoring..sounds awfully familiar to me from our own previous trips:laughing:
Glad you dropped in to share. HAVE A BRILLIANT HOLIDAY!
Hugs,

It sounds like you are very wanted and needed at work though, is it a job you enjoy?
Come September I'll have been there for 6 years, I'm the only one who actually KNOWS the role, but the new boss is changing the system on me and the way things are done...
I don't enjoy the job at all, the people are backstabbing cows and I get abused from internal and external customers (that is my actual job).
Yep, 2 hours ONE way... So I wont be home til 8pm and the girls are rather irritated if kept up passed 7pm, Becca's usually screaming for sleep by 6pm...
AND I found out this evening that MIL is no longer available on Wednesdays to watch them for us...
Anyhoo... Have to visit MIL tomorrow and my Aunt is in town from Gladstone, so I'm gonna get some sleep...
widget - sorry to hear you have to go back to work. The only thing that I can suggest to keep you motivated to sit there is if you have a photo of each of the girls and a pic of your wedding dress. That may be enough to help you get through your day.
pixiemum - I am soooo jealous. I hope you have a fantastic holiday and like amy said have at least one child free day or a nice dinner just you and hubby.
amy - good on dane with his first word. I hear you about the loyalty. I know ava will say dad first. She is such a daddy's girl. When she sees him come home from work her little face lights up and she gets so excited. I hope she does that for me when I have to go back to work.

Hey gals..just spotted a post from Naomi (Jaydensmum) that said she was being induced with bub yesterday. Anyone know if she has had her yet?
So happy for her after losing Oceana last year. Hope it all goes so well for her.
Amy:)
I'll keep an eye open on Facebook and with the July Mummies. If I see it first I'll let you all know.
Jaydensmum aka Naomi had their precious little girl at 4.30 this afternoon - :yelclap::yelclap:
Her name is - Ariana Grace
Weighed 7lb 5oz
She says it was a quick labour once her waters broke somewhere around the 45min mark...:yelclap::yes:
Congrats and a job well done - Welcome Ariana Grace
Ariana was born yesterday!!

Big hellos to everyone out there:)
Ive been so busy lately, it seems i end up doing something everyday, monday my mum was off so we cleaned the carpets (oh joy), tuesday was mothers group, wednesday i visited a friend, today she visited me and tomorrow is swimming class. I dont know where the hours go!
I finally cracked it at my carseat yesterday, i have the safe n sound premier retractor and alyssa has ALWAYS flopped forward in it, when she was lil it was because she had no neck control and now cos when she sleeps theres not enough side padding n she slips. So i went out and invested in a AHR model. very happy with it :)
Alyssa's dad and I finally agreed that we are no longer together, its been a bit of a farse the last few months but no one stood up n said its over. least i now have closure i can start thinking of the future. He will still visit Alyssa a few times a week which is good. who knows what will happen in a few months/yrs its just the right thing to do at the moment.
Snakeeater- woohoo snow! been years since i saw the stuff. Have u rugged Odette up to let her have a look at it?
Amy - aww im sure Dane will say mumum soon. A still hasnt said anything, she got close to hello but i think her energy goes into sitting nowerdays. Sounds like its great that u get to sleep in the morning hehe
Bec - what r u doing online woman! go enjoy the holiday, although i definatly agree, u need to weasel ur way into a bub free day :) after all its ur holiday too
avababy - A is on much the same cept i have tried her with rissoni aswell. takes her awhile longer to eat it but seems to enjoy the texture. the next step is introducing meat...eep! soon they will be carving up steak. haha
widget - so sorry to hear that u have to go back to work. i think that avababy's idea of having the photos is a great idea as u will constantly have a reminder of why u r doing it. the power of motivation can be very strong :)
Im home alone at night for the first time in ages, it feels so weird not having mum to give me a hand here n there. i quite like it though, makes me feel like im independant. maybe one day soon ill look into moving out. pitty its impossible to find a rental for less than 350 pw. :(
well best start the bath routine, hope everyones having a good week!

Hi Mummies
Been a while since I was last on - banks & solicitors have played havoc with our lives for the last few weeks - all good stress though (if there is such a thing!) - just purchased a nice mortgage (came with a free block of land)
Looks like all the Dec bubs have hit the 6mth milestone! Can you believe it!! I have no idea what Xavier measurements are. He nicely fills out his 00's clothes and is approaching 0's. Still no real crawling other then his "commando shimmy".
Exciting news today is that Xavier can clap his hands! Didn't even know he could do it - only discovered it today when at my parents dad was clapping in front of him and then next we noticed Xavier clapping his hands. Very cute :goodvibes:
Hi to all the lovely mummies reading and to all the lovely mummies MIA :flowerz:

allgirls - i definatly want him in the picture, i told him the other day (as he spent his day off at a friends) that he needed to see her more n be here on his days off. Its not a case of us hating each other or falling out, we've just drifted and theres no connection there anymore. im a lil upset about it all but like u said were young still and theres so much pressure nowerdays. Id like to think theres a possibility we'll get back together down the track :)
Alyssa is down for the night now shes been a bit crabby this arvo, felt in her mouth n theres bumps but who knows....ive stopped checking as its been months of it hehe one day ill check n there will be 4 or something :p
It's good to know that you are both at peace with the decision.
And it's very good that he's still going to be an active part in Alyssa's life and it's cool with both of you as well!!
Yay for jaydensmum! welcome to the world little ariana! :D
loulou- its good you can finally move on..and that Alyssa will still have her dad in her life!
hi to everyone else!
things have been a bit crazy here, lots of family dramas! I wont get into it, but dh and i have decided to not have anything to do with his family...there is always drama...and we cant handle it anymore...so tho its sad my kids will never see their grandparents again, its for the best. they can torment eachother, but not us as they are not welcome here! so, on from that...some of my kids have the flu at the moment! Mady can pull herself up to stand now! tho she dosnt do it alot! im so amazed by how fast she is doing things:) well hope you girls have a nice weekend!
hi all. Went down to the health clinic today to do the 6 months stats:
weight 7.8kg
height 65cm
HC 43
so I don't think she is as long as people were saying. Anyway hope everyone is having a great day. Best go and do some dusting. God I hate it.

 that you found the right one. I used to hate the capsule for the same reason..the head always lolls at a funny angle when they are tiny.
Alyssa's dad and I finally agreed that we are no longer together, its been a bit of a farse the last few months but no one stood up n said its over.
I hope you can now move on and be at peace:hugs:. We can never see around corners so who knows what great things you have just opened up for yourself and your gorgeous daughter:yes:. If it is an amicable separation and you are both invested in Alyssa then she will grow knowing she is loved by both parents, whether they reunite in the future or not.
You are an incredibly mature woman hon.
Hugs to you both.

Sorry to hear the extended family situation has turned sour hon but you have to protect your family. Hopefully in time everyone will settle down and see sense.
I hear you on the flu front. Hope your kids pass through it without incident. I love winter but not the illnesses that accompany it.
Wow! Mady pulling herself up..:smiliedance:. She will be running around the backyard in no time.
I finally understand why some women want to go on and have more and more children. Once you get past two or three kids and get into the routines it is just so easy to slip another in there..lol. I am so enamoured with Dane at the moment and it just builds upon the love I have for the others. I swear, if I were ten years younger I would probably slip another two or so kids into the family. They are all so precious and fascinating.
How is your sister doing these days DJ?
Hope you have a lovely weekend.

I finally took the hired capsule back yesterday and found out they were having a clearance sale of old stock. I bought one of those play centre things for Dane with the seat that swivels 360 degrees:
http://picasaweb.google.co.uk/Amypendragon/AmySPublicAlbum/photo?authkey=TbxMpDl92t4#5216691260198642706
They had a cuter one in the shape of a car but I knew I would have trouble keeping a 7 and 6yr old out of that one..so opted for the less cute model..lol.
I am hoping it helps to build his leg muscles for sitting and standing as he is quite a floppy bub currently.
I had a great day yesterday..Peta dropped me off at Brittany's place for a few hours so we could shop and catch up. I don't get over there often without a car during the week. We had a lovely time. While out I bought one of those wierd little teapot looking things (Neti Pot) to wash out the sinuses. I have rotten sinusitis and it really helped:smiliedance:.
Hope everyone else is enjoying good health and keeping rugged up.
Going to Peta's Undercover Wear party today..just wish I had a sexier figure to take:laughing:.
Enjoy your weekend.

Just wanna say thankyou to everyone who said such lovely things about the whole x-DP situation. It just reassures me that i am doing the right thing and to just sit out the 'upset' stage. And we are young and im optomistic about the future between us.
On a sadder note...Alyssa is being knocked about by her runny nose which i think i can now upgrade to a cold. She is all bunged up n its just dripping everywhere n the sneezes Oh the sneezes. I have a vapourizer in her room though n shes keeping rugged up n having baby balsam rubbed on. Hopefully she bounces back quick.
Amy - those activity centres are great, i got one for Alyssa about a week ago n she loves it! keeps her entertained while i eat dinner so im happy.
DJ - wow thats great that Mady is pulling herself up, we have some strong babys in this group! i think its going to be a race between Mady and Layla to see who walks first hehe
Avababy - Sounds like Ava is growing nicely, i dont think 65cms sounds particularly long. some bubs just look tall hehe
Allgirls - thats so cute that Xavier can clap his hands! do u sing 'if ur happy and u know it'? or did he just copy his grandad? smart cookie! im trying to get A to wave at the moment she loves being waved at but hasnt got the idea just yet hehe
Staying indoors this weekend to ensure A gets some good naps in and stays warm, i dont mind though ill potter around n maybe get some time to play comp games. yay.
have a lovely weekend ladies:goodvibes:
Would seem that Becca has lost the tongue reflex... Just doesn't like apple!!!
I can get it in and she swollows some, then the next bit will be spat out at me with the filthiest look as if to say "why did you give me that AGAIN???"
Maybe the baby led weaning will work. I can't really say she's weird for not liking apple, I don't either!!
So looks like we may have one that will eat anything and everything (but never something that isn't food!) just like Daddy and one just as fussy as her mother!! That's gonna make meal times FUN (not!).
So, I still have some carrots left.
Might peel, slice and soften them a bit and see how she goes with them.
You know, that could have been Annabelle's problem with carrot, I never boiled it softer for her, just peeled and sliced then handed to her (once she was older).
Becca still has no signs of teeth making an appearance... Her right cheek gets hot and rosy, but still no bumps to indicate they're on their way out...
yswoman- my sister isnt doing well..she now is working a full time job (as her DH is to lazy to work) plus taking care of her 5 kids, and home duties (her dh dosnt cook or clean either!) all that and dealing with the death of her baby, and she also found out she has a blood clot in between her cervix and the placenta (she has placenta previa) so I am really really worried about her! I feel so bad I cant be there to help her as she is in America. Such a stressful time :( thanks for asking.
loulou- yeah will be interesting to see who will walk first! Mady is moving along quickly, she is so amazing..she is doing things much quicker than our other kids!
wisget- I thought I read somewhere not to give babies home pureed carrots because of the high vitamin A content (commercial baby food is safe tho) I cant remember where I read it I think in a parenting magazine the other day! Might be worth looking into anyway:) Oh and Mady also dosnt like Apple! her fav is banana and and she loves blueberry!
well hi to everyone else, hope you are all having a good weekend! My kids are sick here, so we are just relaxing watching some movies this weekend.
I wasn't going to puree it... Just make it soft carrot sticks, but I will look into that before I do it (was going to try it tomorrow). Figure if I get her on solids before Monday week I know DF will know she's on them and won't deprive her of them. I should give him credit, he's not as stupid as I make out and not a bad Daddy, I just can't stand not being the one they rely on... He's a great cleaner - better than me anyday - and he can cook - if you like spices... Just worried about their eating and nappy changes really... Still, even knowing I'm going back to work, he hates giving Becca a bottle if I'm available to do it... If he's given an option he'll take the other... Just hope he remembers to change their bums (he has a bad memory and when he's looking after them I have noticed soaking, leaking bums)...
What am I so worried about?? Oh yeah, the obvious favouritism towards Annabelle...
I made him get up to them this AM... He was very reluctant but I just said "you have to sleep lighter now coz I'm going to need the sleep once I go back to work" and he got up!! YAY I got another 1/2 hour in bed!!!
The timing should work out ok, as they generally get up at 7am and I'll have to leave at 8am to get to work by 9:30... Will be setting my alarm though as they have also been known to sleep in til 8:45 on occasion...
Sorry, I haven't anything to actually contribute to the group, just word vomit about things here...
Oh... Possibly found our wedding photographer too, just waiting to hear back from her!!

Wow DJ..I didn't know I could experience so much anger toward someone I don't even know..lol. I can't believe she is still with her husband:banghead:. The poor thing has so much on her plate without needing that..geez. She must be one strong woman!
Mady is moving along quickly, she is so amazing..she is doing things much quicker than our other kids!
That is fantastic:yes:. I love hearing about Mady's next stage of development. Selia was my early milestones bub but boybee is quite the opposite. I went to the Undercoverwear party yesterday and including Dane we had three Dec07 bubs there..the other two are far superior in their physical milestones. Poor Dane appeared to be a much younger bub due to that.
I felt so sorry for Peta's hubby as I forgot to tell him that you have to support Dane's back when you pick him up. The boybee arched his back and fell backwards (he has done this a few times before) and Peta's hubby caught him but got a fright..eek. I am so hoping the exersaucer thing and the JJ will help him to develop back/leg muscles, failing that I am taking him to see the local osteopath.
Anyone else's bub a bit floppy too? I am actually starting to get worried. No way I could sit him up..he just crumbles, but he can stand when I hold him up .
Enjoy your movie day hon and hope the kids get well soon.

What am I so worried about?? Oh yeah, the obvious favouritism towards Annabelle...
I remember you saying this b4 Becca was born and just after. I wonder if he feels more comfortable with Annabelle because she is walking/talking etc? Some guys don't go near their kids til they are 2yrs old (bizarre but true), they feel they don't know how to relate to a tiny one.
I reckon given a few weeks of looking after them both he will be a dab hand at it, and it could help him bond better with Becca too:yes:.
I think it is fantastic that he is willing to pitch in with his family like that..I am sure you hear other women complain their men won't cook/clean/look after kids. Young men get a bad wrap these days but there are plenty doing what your df is doing and doing it well.
Hopefully in a short amount of time he will learn to watch for nappy change needs.
I know you don't want to go back to work..and I know you are the best to look after the girls..but it must be comforting to know your df can pick up the slack too:yelclap:. I am guessing you will be phoning home a lot in the first weeks at work til things hit a flow. I know I would be too..lol.
Oh... Possibly found our wedding photographer too, just waiting to hear back from her!!
Woohoo!:smiliedance:. Cheap but good work?
Have a lovely weekend gorgeous.

Becca's not ready to sit unassisted either. Still head heavy. These days when I try and sit her in the corner of the foam lounge she arches her back until she's laying down... She's getting really strong with her legs though, the knees don't seem to lock enough yet to keep her standing while I'm holding her.
I don't think I'm worried though? But I also have the set back with this sort of stuff because Annabelle was so far behind in her physical milestones...

hi ladies.Typing one handed here :D.We have been run off our feet since I last talked.Racked by gastro (all except Layla.....will she ever poo?).Even had to leave pg sister in gloucster hospy after our holiday cause she was so sick.DH and I statr counciling on tuesday and am starting to look for a house for me and the kids.Layla has to go back to the pead as fibre has produced no results and she still cant poo:no:.
On a positive note..........she sits for ages now.To play, eat, and just cause she can.she has even mastered reaching all around her for things and righting herself. She is getting better at standing and pulls up holding only one pinky now and plays with her free hand. Her standing balance is great as well.We still have to limit tummy time so no crawling just yet but we aren't far away. She loves her food. Her new favs are a mild korma curried meat and veg based on coconut cream and roasted beetroot and pumpkin with cummin.Boobies are still her fav;).Back later
brodibunch-Layla sounds like such a big girl now being able to stand up and only holding on with one hand! she must have really good balance :flowerz: Im sure she will crawl on her own time!
well just a little update here as I am so sick to my stomach and stressed out as my evil mil just came over, barged in my house to see my kids...and then decided to yell at my DH about how horrible I am...I really dont understand why they are trying to interfere and break up my happy family :( DH and I love eachother and are just trying to stay away from his family..but they just keep showing up and starting fights...and in front of my kids! well hopefully they get it that we want nothing more to do with them now..they can keep their opinions to themselves and just forget we even exist! :banghead: sorry just needed to vent that out! As I am already stressed and upset enough as it is dealing with my sister and everything. well hope you are all having a nice weekend!

You summed it up beautifully when you said 'head heavy' because that is exactly what is going on with Dane. He has a very fine neck and it does feel like his neck muscles aren't strong enough to hold it solidly yet. And he also does the arching and shuffling down when he is sat against a cushion. So maybe I shouldn't worry so much then. So glad you posted that. Thanks V.

just tried 2 catch up on everyones posts but halfway through the baby alarm went off again, thankfully A is breathing and all is fine but it gives me a heart attack every time it happens and is happening much more often now she is in her cot, perhaps it's the thicker mattress.:banghead:
Sad to read some of you are having family probs I hope things get better for you all soon :hugs:
Am on antibiotics for really bad cold -not happy, am hoping A stays well, so far so good it's only me thats sick.
Got a Mountain Buggy off ebay am so far v happy with it, needed something I could walk with as the other pram couldn't cope with the bumpy footpaths. I even went and took it on the train, was pretty easy to get on and off but then my sister picked me up and it is a monster in the car boot - oh well
Am off to do the late bottle, hope you all have a lovely week!

Thanks Amy,tomorrow should be colourful at least.Layla has dinner at 5.30 everynight followed by her night cap bath and bed.She actually eats better than the rest of us here as well:o.Yes I did get Oliver a haircut. He gets a really sweaty head when it is to long.As usual they took to much off but the curls are already starting to come back.
Sai-sorry to here that you are not well.Mountain buggies can take up a fair bit of shopping room in the boot cant they.Thay are a nice pram to push.I would love one.
I have been up since 3am.Oli decided it was party time:banghead:.Went through the check list with him and he didn't want anything. He actually said "Oliver be naughty" and that is exactly what he was.Hitting, pulling hair etc. Also trying to hurt Layla. He stopped at around 8 and has been an angel so far all morning. Will be giving him lunch really soon and putting him to bed.Kids!who'd have them:rolleyes:;)

Brodie - aww what a wonderful suprise!! those pics were beautiful too u got some gorgeous kids there :) Sorry to hear Layla is still having trouble pooping hope u can get it sorted at the paeds
Amy - sorry cant be of assistance on the 'heavy head' situation but im sure using the JJ and activity centre will build up those muscles! I think we should crash Brodie's for dinner one night, dinner here is more like a 'okay whats in the freezer' haha
Sai - sorry to hear ur sick, im in the same boat. Damn winter! hope u get better soon and no one else catches it!
DJ - hmm that sounds like a horrible situation to be in. I dont think its right they they are coming to ur house to argue when there are children around. Hope things clear up for u. :goodvibes: for ur sister aswell im sure she needs all she can get
Another lazy day here today, Alyssa is a bit better, her face n eyes arent puffy anymore but her nose gunk seems to have thickened (sorry TMI!) but shes very happy and has been having huge naps (3hrs in morn n 2hrs in arvo) as well as sleeping through, my angel.
Seems i have caught it too so no netball tonight and no mothers group tomorrow, dont want to spread it any further!
Hope everyones week started well :flowerz:
I was gonna brag with a video but can't find the USB cord for my mobile... (Can't find the digital camera either )
Becca's on SOLIDS!!!! :goodvibes:
She didn't liek the apple the other day so I gave the rest of that to Annabelle yesterday and tried Becca on jarred sweet corn coz while she didn't like the apple she wanted more food LOL... She had probably about 1 baby teaspoon full in total...
She just finished off the other 1/2 a jar!! :D Absolutely LOVED it!! Wanted more, so I had to leave her with corn on her face and give her the dummy so she still had the taste...
Now, to work out what we can puree for her (don't have the $$ to buy atm) that isn't going to hurt her little insides... Then teach DF. 6 days left... :(
But, she's on solids so it's one less thing I have to worry about!!
Was thinking of trying her on a bit of toast but not overly confident that she'll be okay with plain margarine or if I put vegemite on it or anything...
Oh, BigW and Kmart are haing their Big Toy sale starting Thursday too... Good time for xmas laybys (shame I can't follow the flock and do the same)...
STILL waiting for this darned tax money to come in... I tried to call the ATO to find out what was going on and the machine said that no-one will talk to me until after the start of the financial year... So I logged onto TRA (who I do my tax through) to see if they had any updates and my information is missing!!!
IF it comes through by Thursday Annabelle might be getting something for her 2nd birthday - possibly a $10 etcha sketch (in the sales) spesh if this $$ doesn't come through. What I want to get her is $35 but I can't even justify the $10 right now - birthday presents come last to feeding and sheltering the children and when we've been scrounging through the 20c pieces to get milk etc presents don't need to be given...
Sorry, I've been rather stressed of late, obvious reasons, work, lack of finances, care for the girls, Drs appts.

Quick post. Sorry to the sickies..hope you get better very quickly. I know how tough it is to look after kids when you're sick yourself.
Today we had to take Selia to another school. She is doing some special workshops there today and tomorrow. We went as a family this morning as dh took the time off so we could have the car; and ds1 was home sick. When we arrived we were a few minutes late so dh suggested I take Selia in while he parked the car.
After registering her I turned to see dh and Lachie had made it in. We stood and watched Selia line up with her group. I turned back to smile one of those proud parent smiles at dh. I smiled at him, smiled at Lachie, then said casually: "Where is Dane?", at which point dh went white and bolted for the car:eek:. Thankfully Dane was waiting patiently in his car seat..OMG!!
It appears there is a dad-nesia too.
Gotta dash to get tea.

My dad just found a box of my baby clothes and brought them over for Layla.I put them on her and she is sooooo much like me.There was also some dresses my mum had made to put away for me and my sister in our glory boxes. It was a great suprise as she died when I was 15 and we dont have much from her.Very special things indeed:):bee::goodvibes:
It's funny how things like that happen. Perhaps it is your mum's way of letting you know she is around you at this time (sorry..not trying to be funny..just really believe your dad was lead to pull those things out at this time for a reason).
How special to have those clothes. Enjoy the reminiscing.
Hugs,
Amy:)

Becca's on SOLIDS!!!!
Now, to work out what we can puree for her (don't have the $$ to buy atm) that isn't going to hurt her little insides... Then teach DF. 6 days left...
Was thinking of trying her on a bit of toast but not overly confident that she'll be okay with plain margarine or if I put vegemite on it or anything... Annabelle might be getting something for her 2nd birthday - - birthday presents come last to feeding and sheltering the children and when we've been scrounging through the 20c pieces to get milk etc presents don't need to be given...
Sorry, I've been rather stressed of late, obvious reasons, work, lack of finances, care for the girls, Drs appts.
Yeah..I'm sorry you've been rather stressed of late too. Life has a way of turning sharp corners without warning so make sure you have your seatbelt on :).
As to pressies for 2nd bday's..eating and a roof come first in our home too. At 2 a cardboard box and some paper are as much fun as a pressie so don't stress. If you are really worried then hit the charity shops and see if you can pick up something small til you can afford the thing you want.
I do give Dane toast with marg and vegemite but watch him carefully. He mainly gums the thing and makes it soggy..oh but how he loves it though. I sometimes put the vegemite on his rusk. Today he had wheat bix. He didn't want it at first so I mixed a spoonful of strawb yoghurt into it and he went nuts and gobbled it up.
You can puree almost any vegie..just steam it til soft. The only thing I used to have trouble with was peas. I had a batch that pureed up but the outer coating of the pea's when chopped felt like shards of glass:confused:.
Congrats to Becca for finding a food she likes.:yelclap:. I am sure now she has the idea she will go great guns with it.
Hugs,
Amy:)

Widget-solids fun at your house:yelclap:.Layla has only had a few bits of toast as most people use a dairy spread on it.She did love it but as she chews everything she always ends up chocking.Money is always a stress:hair:.St vinnies have been helping me with $100 wollies vouchers and hugies nappies for the kids each week. You can even use the vouchers on petrol if you need to.
Amy-:eek:Leaving Dane in the car:laughing:.OOOOPS!I know heaps of people who have done it and Yes they are mostly dads.......Typical:laughing:.We tried weetbix this week and L loved them.I also think things happen for a reason.I have had heaps of Dreams with Mum in them in the last few weeks.I have a new found respect for her being a single mum for so long. The Dresses she made we thought had been lost so I am extatic about them. She was so good at smocking, embroidering, and cut lace work.Just a shame she never got to making Boys things as my sisters Bub2B is a boy.
My day has dragged on it feels like I have been awake forever(funny that!).There is not much point hitting the Hay as Laycate is due for a BF at 9.I just hope Oli sleeps tonight.A little bit freaked about counciling tomorrow
Good luck with the counselling tomorrow Brodie! I don't have any words of wisdom as I've never been to see one... I think, relax and go with the flow... You're either going to try and work on your marriage, or you're going to ensure the kids will have the best upbringing... Either way, relax and go with it, don't work yourself up, spesh if you don't know what to expect!!
Hope the kids sleep well for you tonight!
I don't know if Vinnies can help us... We don't have a Woolies out here, only Coles unless I want to bus it elsewhere... And, I have to keep reminding myself... It's only a week, it's only a week then I'll go back to work and get paid for the month and hope I budget well enough to get groc for the whole month!!
