Hi there, your baby still has plenty of time to turn on her own. But there are LOTS of web pages suggesting how to help it along.
Laying on the ground with your feet up on a chair with BIG pillows raising your bum in the air is a good way too
There are lots of suggestions, just do what feels right for you.
thank u moonblossom i hope she does move i have been searching for some movements and stuff i can do to help her thanks

most babies have turned by about 35 ish weeks ... so you still have heaps of time.
There are some things you can do to try and encourage your bubs to turn .. check out spinningbabies.com
good luck, and I hope that bubs does turn - but I would certainly research your options and make a decision on how you will birth if bubs doesnt turn. How long will you wait, how determined are you to vb, do you want an ecv (manual manipulation to turn bubs) etc.
Google 'term breech trial' and breech babies in general for lots and lots of info, and make your own decision from there. Then if bubs turns, fantastic, if not - you will have made your decisions for yourself, not been forced into something becuase of someone else....
Good luck

Im 31wk on Thursday and last week my bub turned breech. If it hasnt turned by 35 weeks Im going in for acupuncture. But now reading moonblossoms' post I might search the net before paying out more $$$.

still plenty of time..
my dd3 flipped into breech position at 36 weeks, i had her turned by the doctor, it was pretty quick and painless...
Hi Mandy31,
My DD was breech from around wk 34. I got down on all 4's for 10mins every 2hrs (not at night though) with my bum in the air as per advice from my obst. I also had acupuncture in conjunction with moxibustion sticks (burning a little incence stick near your little toes, which can sometimes help). Unfortunately nothing worked & I had a caeser. I think I may have left all the above until too late though. My obst didnt talk about trying to turn her, which in hindsight I wish I'd asked her about. There are things you can try & in my exp, the sooner the better, while there is still some room for bubba to turn.
All the best......

Zack turned breech at 37 weeks. I read everything I could, I did all I could to turn him, crawling, lay down with my legs up, ice pack near his head (he didn't like that kicked me big time). By 38 weeks he had turned back. You have plenty of time yet.

I birthed my beautiful breech princess at home (the birth story is on this forum). Don't let the system railroad you into doing something that isn't the safest for your baby. The TBT has many critics. Do your research.

I am interested in this topic too.
Currently at 28 weeks my baby is tranverse. Laying Across my tummy, with head on the left, bum on the right, back/spine at the top and feet in my pelvis.
I know that there is plenty of time for baby to turn, but it does put in the back of your mind the very small chance that bubs may not turn, and I will need intervention to get baby out...
I will be having another ultrasound at 32 weeks and 36 weeks to check for positioning and size (my last 2 have been over 4.5 kilo each) as the Dr's dont want me to try birthing a baby that is too large...incase baby gets stuck.
I will be checking out the spinning babies site.
The last thing I want is to require a c/section...

My 1st turned finally at 36 weeks on her own, but in saying on her own I was floating on tummy in the spa alot and crawling around on all fours to encourage her to turn.
My 2nd would not turn no matter what we did, even to the point when they physically tried to push his bum out of my pelvis he arched back (little toad) :D so I had to be booked in for a c/section, as they didn't want me to go into labour.
If there was the support available to have a natural breech birth up here I would have gone for it but Cairns has very limited options at short notice.
Do as much research as you can and make sure that you feel that you have made the decision as to how you want to have your baby. Empowerment is the key to making it a special event which ever way you go.
Good luck

mandy31 - hopefully your baby will turn on its own, but if not, in Newcastle, you have fantastic support for a vaginal breech birth. Dr Andrew Bisits at John Hunter is very well known for his support of breech birth.
DS#1 was breech utntil 35 weeks, I managed to get him to turn by basically living on all fours for a few days
Arch your back up like a cat does (careful though you may pull something down there) and then dip your back down in the opposite direction a few times everyday. The midwife I was seeing at the time gave this info. He did finally move.

Dont stress. Although I said on the first page that my bub was breech the other night she did some acorbatics and is now engaged :D. Wait it out a bit. Unnecessary stress isnt good for you or baby so wait till the last minute.

DD1 was breach and turned about 26hrs before my 36 week appointment with the hospital and just before my share care one with my GP who told me I was lucky.
As the ladies said the earlier you start the exercises the more chances you have for turning bub!
Good luck!
I think that because all pregnancies are very different, and as you get to the end there is not much room for bub to move, some stay in the breech position if they are comfortable enough, my baby is currently breech , but has been trying to turn but can't because my placenta is in the way, so he comes back up, good luck.

My baby was breech and the Drs turned him/her at 37 weeks - it was pretty traumatic and I was sore for days afterwards (not to mention paranoid that it had flipped back!) Previous to this I'd tried everything that I could to get it to turn on it's own.
There was no chance of me having a natural birth here in WA - no one would take the chance with the first baby as my pelvis wouldn't have been ready.
I'm now 39 weeks and s/he is still head down (apparently!) :fingerscrossed: If it doesn't arrive by 40 wks I'll be induced as I have gestational diabetes too.
thank u all for ur replys im sooo happy i had my app yesterday and they nurse said that she is head down and 4/5th way up i dnt get that if she engaged or not but head down is a good thing for me lol :yelclap:
Bellaleggos :fingerscrossed: ur little man stays there he might have no room now to move back so he should and i hope u have a quick and easy labour

YES! And the John Hunter is very well known for their acceptance of breech vaginal births...so even if your baby turns back into the breech position- your in the best place in the state to attempt a natural birth if that's what you would like.
Good Luck!:flowerz:
