They say 6 weeks, best to follow that advice but i imagine you would still be bleeding too yeah? You dont want to get an infection they can make you pretty ill so its best to wait. Didnt they give you a time frame when you got it done?

After both my termination and DC from miscarriage I was told to wait 6 weeks. I only waited 4 after the MC and ended up with a infection. It smelt horrible and had an awful discharge. Wouldnt wish it upon anyone especially cos its in 'there'. If you do get an infection and its not caught you could ruin your chances of having babies in the future.

after my d&c (is kinda like the same process ? if so) i was told to wait until my GP gave me the all clear when i had my check up....i was meant to have an appointment was 6 weeks after, so i guess they were pretty much telling me to wait 6 weeks....though im not sure i listened

Your cervix has been dialated just as it would after birth so 6 weeks is neccessary. Otherwise you risk infection. After my D%C (post birth) I was told it was absolutely imperative that I obstain from 6 weeks as the d&C alone carries risk of infection- to have sex magnifies that risk enormously. (Post baby the absolute last thing I felt like was having sex but obviously you don't have that issue. I would wait regardless.)

I was told to wait 2 weeks after both my termination and my D&C to prevent any risks of infection.
In those 2 weeks I was not to swim, have a bath, use tampons, or have sex- Basically not allowed to have anything enter my vagina. I was told that this 2 weeks should be kept regardless of whether I was bleeding or not.
If in doubt, ring your doctor, he or she will be able to tell you for sure!
Hope I have helped.
