I live on the north side near Strathpine

The only place I wouldn't like to live is Caboolture only because of the bad thing's I have heard about the area and places like the back end of Eaton's hill cause there is limited public transport

Hi Ang & Bex,

Sorry for the delay but I was in transit on my way to my mum & dads. Bex, if your DH is working in Virginia you could try Boondall, Taigum, Bracken Ridge. That's a start anyway but if you have a specific suburb you'd like some advice on I can try and help.

I agree Bracken Ridge and Taigum are nice. Wavell heights and Aspley are near Virginia and both are nice I think.

I wouldn't live in Caboolture or Deception Bay. Closer to the city, I don't think I'd live in Keperra either, or Strathpine, though I grew up only a couple of suburbs from there.

I was thinking the same about Keperra ...was just going to say that it's hard to make a blanket statement about a suburb - while there are definitely some areas of Keperra I wouldn't touch with a bargepole, we lived over near the golf course and I loved it - 2 mins to train, huge park, great restraurant in the golf club etc etc.... It obviously all depends on what you need/want/can afford - If you need to be close to Virginia, there are some really lovely areas of Geebung, Sandgate and Brighton if you like the water, Carseldine is great, Aspley and Wavell as someone already suggested ...Chermside West and Bridgeman Downs are getting a bit further out, but are fabulous areas ... close to that area, you hear more negatves about Zillmere, the older areas of Taigum, Virginia (cause close to industry areas)...there are also some parts of Bracken Ridge that iw ouldn't like to live in, but there's also some beautiful parts too.....As a said, a bit hard to make a blanket statement

(as someone said (and sorry can't look back at who, cause this is an edit ) I can also offer to help with particular areas/suburbs - have been a Northside girl for the last 18years, and have moved quite a bit)
