Hi, I'm just wondering how accurate an ultrasound can be in determining the sex of baby at 15 wks 3days? I visited the ObGP today and we both definatly thought we saw boy bits (penis and testicals :D) on the screen. Baby co-operated really well and gave us a nice veiw (was quiet cute actually :p).

To be honest we thought we were having a girl :o

TIA

umm well I would not trust it 100% as it is still pretty early. Its probably a good indication its a boy but at this stage the genitals do still look similar. Also I was told you wil not see testicles only a penis shape. Testicles are not descended til 30 something weeks

I think boys are easier to see than girls. I was told by the ultrasound place that they like to do the ultrasound at 20 weeks as it is more accurate at that time.

At 12 weeks I was "hypothetically" told the sexes of both my children (the sonographer saying "If I had to guess...") and he was right both times.

At 18 weeks I was told by a different sonographer what they thought and she was right both times as well.

But I have heard other stories... of the "surprises" :D

I found out with DS3 that he was a boy at around 16wks gest, and they were right
