Hi there,

I recently moved to Melbourne from NZ and have an almost 3 year old and a 4mnth old baby. I am trying to start a bookclub/group for mums (and dads) that would be run during the school hours probably mid to late morning. I am new at this but thought that it might be a great way to meet parents and children and a chance to have some grown up conversation. I am an avid reader but like most parents don't get much of a chance to read. I am proposing one meeting per month to give everyone a chance to read a book. I want to keep things on the lighter side to make it fun but am not adverse to the idea of some heavier reads and conversations. The group would welcome people of all ethnic backgrounds and religious groups. Anyway, I live in Preston but have a car and can travel. I think it would be good to meet somewhere kid friendly initially like a cafe (maybe Seres) and then later if people are comfortable move the groups to people's houses (only if this doesn't cause too much stress) and/or parks, gardens with playgrounds. I have some people interested already. If you are interested, email me on: brigetteandandrew@gmail.com.

Hi there,

If you are interested in having a coffee to discuss a potential group I am meeting someone (for the first time) next Tuesday morning at 10.30. You could email me and I could give you our planned location. At this stage I am still drumming up interest but hope to have something up and running by the end of the month even if it starts off small.
Cheers
Brigette
