I know I can rely on the wonderful world of Bubhub to help me out here! :)

I am after some fundraising ideas for a project my company is running...

So a bit of background for you:

I work for a large corporation which is a part of Johnson and Johnson- the company donate a great deal of money to charities every year- but this year we are going one step further....

We are having a fundraising 'competition' where the company have set up 33 teams of 10 people from all over Aust/NZ aiming to raise $2500 each for the Mary Mackillop foundation East Timor, the team who raises the most money in the most creative ways will also get to travel to East Timor to see the funds at work in new schools. :smiliedance:

We are not allowed to run raffles or rpize draws, we have $250 to spend, and my team is spread across regional/metro Vic and Syd...

The Competition runs till end of Aug, and I need to have submissions for fundraising ideas in by the end of this week for company approval. And there are some very Entrepreneurial people in my company, so it will be a fierce competiton!!

Sooooo we need some novel ideas of ways to raise money, I would so so so love to be able to not only contribute to this wonderful cause, but also travel to see the work in progress.

So far we are going to all travel to syd for the City to Surf and get sponsorship (if we all get 50 people to sponsor us $20 then thats $10,000 right there), but also looking for things to run locally and individually too.

Any ideas? :detective: Remember we only have $250 to spend, although we are happy to contribute some out of earnings/our own pockets to go towards super good ideas.

 How about an Auction? Think of a catchy/interesting/funny theme so your event will catch peoples attention.

Get your team to ask business to donate products and services and use your $250 for advertising.......

I actually had an idea for a fund raiser just the other day!... I have no idea how to work it but it might be fun. It's only a basic idea - hopefully it will spark something for you to do

I had the idea as it's my first wedding anniversary tomorrow. I wanted to try on my wedding dress again, and thought I'd love to wear it again, and I know friends who would love to wear theirs too.

I thought of some kind of event (that you could charge entry for) just for women, where you have to wear a wedding dress/bridesmaid dress/deb dress/ or some other outfit that you have never had the opportunity to wear again.

maybe a dinner? a picnic? a lunch?

if you do something like this make sure you advertise it on here - I'll come! and I know at least 4 other friends who would too :) - plus all the bubhubbers that would :)

Jag- thats a brilliant idea!!! :yelclap: :yelclap: :yelclap: I am definitely going to run with that and see what I can organise.

We also have come up with auction events, movie nights, organising school disco's in primary schools, auctioning stuff on ebay, and participating in runs for sponsorships.

One of our team members has come up with an amazing idea that we are hoping to pull off which involves actually bringing big pharmacuetical companies together to try and colloborate corporate philanthropy- it could have the potential as a corporate event which will attract CEO's from some big companies- to raise several hundred thousands....it is mind boggling what we could do if we pull it off, but its going to be a lot of hard work.

Could you have a fete or something and charge and entry fee?
Maybe get people to donate goods and have a huge garage sale.
Can you do fun runs or something like that ?

Its hard if you cant have raffles thats all but not sure if they will help :)

Good luck with things though

glad you liked it Sal, hope it helped spark an idea :)

I hope you have success with whatever you do - don't forget to update us on what you decide.

ETA - I just thought that anything with kids is a great one - we all know that parents will spend more money of kids than on themselves!
