I swear I have written about a million posts in the sleeping section but my DS is a real case when it comes to this issue.

He is now 26 months. He is a fantastic sleeper at night - 7 pm to 7 am no fussing at bed time.

He was a shocker of a sleeper during the day and I know he needs an hour during the day.

I finally, FINALLY managed to get him into a day sleep routine and it's going very well.

The thing is, he used to get tired around lunch - mid afternoon.

Now he's tired by 10 am

Am I doing something wrong? I don't get it!

Could it be a growth spurt making him need more sleep / earlier sleeps?

Every time the day sleeps get better, something else gets put totally out of whack. :crying:

My ds is a month or two older than yours - and he has recently started doing the same thing (although he is getting up at 5 instead of 7am)

Have you tried putting him to sleep earlier? Or quiet play time in his room? What about a story? When ds is grumpy cause he's tired in the morning, I curl up (as much as I can at the moment ) with him on the couch and make up a story (or recite one from memory - think snow white and the like). If I read to him, he gets cross cause that's part of his bed time routine, but it might work for your son.

Otherwise, take him for a run outside so he's really knackered and won't fight when you tell him it's time for bed. :p

Good luck!

 he would love the running part! He's such an active little thing, I think that could be adding to this whole sleep mess.

I'm a bit wary of putting him to sleep earlier, as he is very funny with his routine it's so easy to get him all out of whack but I think I might try it tomorrow and see how we go.

I just can't handle the high pitched "hooooo" noises he makes when he's tired :hair:

I must give him credit though, he's a great little boy and we don't have many troubles apart from sleep.
