View Full Version : Wipes!!
Hi there
I am about to receive my first fluffy mail this week sometime :smiliedance: I am excited!!
I am buying AIO BBH magicalls to start with and I might succumb to buying some itti bitti AIOs. I don't want to buy too many types as I am terrible and I will always reach for my favourite. I say that now but I am yet to become addicted!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I was just wondering if anyone could tell me what to do with wipes. At the moment I wipe the pooey bum and then fold up in the sposie and throw away. What do you do with am mcn as I will flush the poo, wash the mcn but what to do with the wipes??? What do other do??? Is there flushable wipes or do you make your own and wash them??
Looking for ideas
Much appreciated! :hugs:

I made my own and bought the BBH wipes. The BBH are by far the better :) I just pop them in the wash with the nappies, they are nice and thick and soft too

I made mine from spare flannelette that I had. Depends on how much ends up on the wipe as to what I do with it. Any 'chunky stuff' gets squirted to the loo, not chunky just gets thrown in the nappy bucket.

For nasty messes I use a flushable Kleenex wipe (loo paper aisle at the supermarket), and then cloth wipes to finish the job. For wees just the cloth wipe with a spray of water/baby shampoo solution. Then they get washed with the nappies.
I use the flushable wipes now as I don't have a little squirt and didn't want to handle the poo too much, I found it too tricky to use toilet paper, and this works for us!
Hope I've helped, Cherry

I do the same as cherrybaby only bc I too dont have a little squirt.
My granny made me about 50 flannelette wipes and we just wet with warm water on the way to change DDs bum.
Thanks so much for your replies!
Hmmm I may have to make/buy some cloth wipes and get some of the kleenex ones too. I might also have to look at re-arranging my changetable to keep a water sprayer there or pop by the bathroom on the way to changing.

I keep some pre-soaked in a huggies wipes container (the big refillable one).
I mix:
1 cup cooled boiled water
1 tsp baby bath wash
1tsp tea tree oil
This is enough to keep about 12 or so small face washers damp and will last about two days (less time if there are lots of icky poos!).
I bought the small thin washers from big w, and they are really good. they just get chucked in the bucket and then washed with the nappies.
It does take a bit of change table rearranging but it's so worth it!

I use the small face washers too, also in a huggies container, but I only use cooled boiled water. Does the trick.
I rinse the wipes off with the little squirt if needed, then just goes in with the nappies, easy as! I actually find it harder using disposable wipes having to bin them, lol

I got a few 5-packs of Little Wishes washers from Safeway :D They have been great and have held up fantastically for nearly 2 years now
They get squirted with the nappy and then follow it into the bucket- easy! :D

The 'big softies' brand of face washers (comes in a pack of 10 at big W or k-mart) are the perfect size for the huggies tubs! I fold them in half and cover with boiled water (i have the monkey doodelz squares for a bit of extravegance now and that makes then smell nice) and that lasts a day or so. Using boiled water apparently keeps mould away for longer.
If you are looking for PURE extravegance have a look at the ultimate wipes when you go to the itti bitti site - they are soooo lush, although I only have a few of them!
I have some baby beehinds ones and diluted chamomile tea in a spray bottle.
