Hi everyone,
Today I went to our local shopping street and I NEARLY WENT MAD!!! :D I couldn't move because people wouldn't help this poor Mum out by letting her past! (There were even other Mums standing in the way with their prams!) I felt like I was invisible - one lady even joked with me that I needed a horn on my pram!! I nearly lost my temper in public!!
Am I the only one?!! (Maybe I need to catch up on some sleep!)
you are not alone! there are a lot of ignorant people out there who just stan d in the middle of the isle , and they expect people to go around them?!? just crack them on the back of the heels with the pram/trolley i say!:devil6:

I love shopping with the pram. I use it like a battering ram  .
i hate when stuff like that happens makes me so :banghead:
people can be so rude sometimes...
maybe installing a horn is a good idea
an after thought....
Maybe the horn could say....
"MOVE IT OR LOSE IT TOOTS! "
I think people who have never had a baby or a pram just don't understand. Before I had my baby I used to think people with prams were always getting in my way, now the shoe is on the other foot I realise how hard it can be. I have run into a few people who just don't get out my way quick enough! :devil6:

you guys are so right about this!! It really annoys me that people don't realise it's easier for them to take one step to the side and get out of your way than it is for us to try and manouver the prams out of theirs!!! Sometimes I don't even bother with the pram and carry bub around (he's 9kg - I reckon I could beat a bikie in an arm wrestle :D )
But I reckon the horns are a good idea! Anyone want to volunteer to try one out?

I had an episode like that too!
I ducked into target to get some easter pressies...BIG MISTAKE!
People everywhere, turns out they didnt have what i wanted, and getting out took me longer than getting in!!!
This one lady took up half the aisle with her trolley and just stood there! I was stuck there because there were ppl on the other side of the aisle going the opposite way. In the end i gave her the BIGGEST evil look and said excuse me, she just looked and turned away!!!:banghead: I WAS SO MAD!!!!!!
Ok now to calm down a bit lol

I'm with you Ange. I'm constantly moving the pram to allow people to walk past me. I dont mide if it's an elderly person or similar but when it is a young person, & they just keep walking & look at me like "i dare you to hit me with that" I just want to scream the whole shopping centre down.
I hate having bump rage. People just walk at me like i'm invisible and ram me, or scare me into doing some funky move because I think they're going to ram me and that makes my back hurt even more :(
And, while I can understand your pram rage, I got a bit raged at a pram-user when I was in an aisle at the shop, just about at the end and ready to turn the corner and a mum came acround and blocked the whole aisle with the pram and gave me a look like "are you going to move out of my way?" I had to waddle to the end of the aisle while she menanced me with the pram and then waddle back to where I was. :(
I get major pram rage. :o DP hates shopping with me and always insists on pushing the pram, and then it takes 10 times longer to do anything because he's so polite and lets everyone go past or waits for people whereas I would just ram on past them. Prams come first baby!!
And I really hate it when people aren't watching where they're going and just meander around... stopping here... dawdling there... and then they step backwards! Into the pram! And then have the cheek to give ME a dirty look!

What is it with men and prams? Get some balls guys! They seem to be so aggressive on the road and then they get to the shops and its like they are on a different timezone....they just mosey along so slooooowly...............

The sad thing is other mums with prams are just as bad!!! What really annoys me is when two mums meet and decide to chat in the middle of the isle way..... :banghead:
I had to go to our local shopping centre today to get some stuff for tomorrow and it was a nightmare!! Because I was on my own Ryan was sitting in the trolley and while I try to keep out of other peoples way (whether they have a pram or a trolley) it seems noone else seems to pay the same respect!
And I really hate it when people aren't watching where they're going and just meander around... stopping here... dawdling there... and then they step backwards! Into the pram! And then have the cheek to give ME a dirty look!
Grrrrrrrrr this REALLY bugs me

I manage to avoid Pram rage.
I've had years of training, pushing my wire basket shopping trolley around the Victoria Market!!
Watch out, people!
i have a jeep pram and it's toy does have a horn noise on it which my toddler delights in hitting at first i used to think i would be embarressed by her honking at everyone but now i encourage her to use it:D

GGGRRRR........and what is with people that get to the end of the escalator and STOP, have a look around then decide where they want to go?????? Or cut you off when your about to get on the excalator???
Oh, and other mums with prams.........I was in Kmart today, I get to the end of the aisle and this woman is just standing there with her pram taking up half the aisle. I give her a polite excuse me kind of look. So, she moves her pram over all of about an inch. I attempt to squeeze past, or wheels hit, she sighs then moves out of the aisle. Then she looks down at my pram and says "oh, you've got one of those prams"..............huh??? Well lady, you have one of those attitudes!!!
OMG, I hear ya!
I can't stand some peoples attitudes! What gets me is the attitudes of some mums, shouldn't they know what it's like?!
What annoyed me even more is when I have the tandem pram. People just won't budge! I hit their ankles with it and then just say it's too long to see down that end and that I thought they were gonna move.
They can give me dirty looks if they like, no skin off my nose. Maybe next time they'll think twice when seeing a mum with a pram!

When I was pregnant, I used to think, "Get out of my way mothers with prams"... How silly I was!
It's so much more difficult to get around with a pram...especially when you have a child that tries to pull things from the shelves. You can't really walk down the middle because then you block off the aisle...but walking close to the shelves just makes a big pile of stuff on the floor behind you...*sigh*.
I hate it when people WALK BACKWARDS or walk whilst looking in a different direction. Am I supposed to make sure that everyone around me is paying attention before I dare take a single step? Non-Prammers can do a little "hop" to the side if they find themselves in an "about to crash" situation...but you just can't do that with a pram...you have to take several steps to SWIVEL past them...and by then it's too late. Idiots.
And OMG YES about escalators. HATE it. Are you supposed to walk backwards on the travellator until they move out of your way? It's not like you can STOP moving to avoid hitting them...
And what about lift usage? As a prammer - lifts are my only means of level-changes. After searching the majority of the level...and finding ONE lift...and then waiting for it for about 10 years...it really bugs me when the lift is full of people who can easily just use the escalators.
I was once in the Myer Centre in Brisbane, and was the ONLY person waiting to go up at the lifts. I stood back a bit, to enable those who were already on it to get off. While I was waiting for the lift...lots of people came over and waited too. Too many people to fit in one lift. Because one person is smaller than a pram and a person, after all of the people got OFF of the lift, all of the people wanting to get on rushed infront of me and got in. There was no room left for me - and I had been waiting the longest! What a bunch of selfish morons! There was an escalator RIGHT BESIDE the lift (a few steps away anyway)...so there was no excuse! HATE people like that!

A meaningful question......and this seems the thread in which to pose it:
WHY are the aisles in Target and Kmart kids sections SO damned narrow???
It's hard to get one pram through, let alone when multiple people are shopping, or if people have a tandem pram. OK floor space costs $$$, but making it easier to shop there will bring in the $$$, too.

target seems to be the only narrow aisle culprit where i live  k mart aisles are massive here :D

I seem to think shops have it in for pramming mothers.
I've recently noticed that many of the shops I visit, in the kids departments or baby aisles...there will be a big huge pole blocking off most of the aisle!
Is just seems so ridiculous! Do they have no mothers working in the shop that can say "erm...you might want to re-think this!"

Hahaha! I just LOVE all your stories! :D

I had pram rage at the Easter Show Friday. You're saying what an idiot mother. Yeah I know. Never again. A man on a wheel chair let me go past but everyone else ran in front of me.
Won't be going until my son can buy his own food, wipe his own hands, carry his own show bags and walk at the same time.
Here's to 2020.:smiliedance:
Personally I think there needs to be designated shopping hours for different people, especially in the city. :D
Something like this would be helpful -
9am - 11.30 - prams and toddlers
12 - 2 working people in a hurry on their lunch breaks
2 - 5 the elderly who like to take time meandering about and looking at things...
Hmm...might put that to the council
I can honestly say that before children, I hated the pram users. The annoying way the mothers stop in front of you to wipe hands or faces or replace dummies or whatever......oh how the attitude changes when the shoe is on the other foot....:o

Hey I love this topic!!!
When we go out some times there are two possible senarios...
1. Someone is walking in front of me and every time you try to go around them they seem to move that way too. , then depending on what kinda mood Im in I will just walk in the other direction, OR I will "accidentaly" run into them and then go "oh sorry"...
I know Im terrible but at least they move.:shame:
2. Im in a really bad mood and dont want to be there jacks crying loch wont walk and Im just like can you get out of the bloody way.
But then there are also times that I will just dawdle along...
Ive just kinda given up on shopping now, cause I hate going with no adult to talk too..
But I do agree there should be set shopping hours for different groups of people.
I know its rude but i just say Beep Beep. They can take it either way! Have a laugh or get offended but if they move who gives a.......
Or 'excuse me'
(from someone sick of being rammed by prams because she can't waddle out of the way fast enough or she doesn't notice them behind her)
I prefer dads pushing prams, they say "Excuse me" and sometimes "Sorry" as they squeeze on past.
Sorry guys, I know, I'm a non-prammer at the moment... but I certainly hope I have some manners.

NO WAY! I don't get up until around 10.30! lol.
Oh - and I don't go to bed until about 2am....so it's not like I'm super-lazy really...lol.
(DP works late hours, so to "sort of" fit into his schedule DD goes to bed at around 10pm and then awakens at around 10.30...what a perfect sleeper huh?!:D )

lol! I haven't got a baby yet but I joke about this. I think you can train bub up to wack people on the legs with his rattle and look all inisent to.
But It's something I am not looking forward to. I hate shopping mall crouds. I get angry when two fat people walk side by side slowly down the iles and you can't get past.
It gets me when people walk around the car park and don't even get out of the way for the cars. They don't even look.
And someone already mentioned this.....but People standing in the middle of the ilse blocking everyone else grrrrrr.
Thats me done, feel better now.:smiliedance:
shopping centres are getting smaller
i mean more narrow
when i had my first born
there was alot more space
they used to have a mini train go through
the centre
now they have stall shops
in the middle of the bigger stores
You just can't move
When my hubby is with us
he usually carries our youngest
Prams are just a hassle
when shopping

I have had to wait with my twin pram so that a lady in a wheelchair could use the lift while 2 20 something men clambered in without giving a damn.
I also really hate it when you are in a hurry, trying to push a big double pram through a crowded shopping centre and someone stops dead in front of you. When you say excuse me, they turn around and ask 5 million questions about your babies and wonder why you aren't happy to stand there and chat all day!:ecomcity:
