Hi there

Just thought that I would introduce myself in here. I have been around the traps for *ho-hum* quite sometime but haven't ventured out from my 'homies' thread (July Mummies 06) for quite sometime.

Needless to say with DH away and three littlun's its kinda full on!

Wanted to come in here to get some support and maybe offer some too.

DH works at a gold mine about 3 and an arf hours drive from us. We are in Murgon. He works a good shift - one week on and one off - but still I really want a job where we can live where he is and then have our time off together. I don't really care where that may be, Timbuctoo for all I care!

So anyway  from me
Jessie

 Hi Jessie and welcome!

It funny how you can kinda stick to certain threads. Sometimes I go to bubhub meets and everyone is talking about a certain thread and I'm all like  I didn't even know that section existed

We too are starting to look at moving to a mining town to be closer to my other half Jesse.
He just got a Job that has residential but it's a closed mining town so we have to put our names down on a list for a house.
Apparently the wait is around 6 months but could be more could be less.

I was happy doing the FIFO thing before we had our son, I just kept extra busy the weeks he was away.

But now I'm finding it more difficult mainly because I'm not the coolest of cucumbers and things stress me out easily.

It would be good to have Jesse home every night.

Well anyways I'm rambling on a bit here hope your having a great night

Mother Duck  Heya darls nice to meet you if you know what I mean  I to have just really kept to my threads Jan 2007 mummies and so on just really getting out there in this thread but it's all good so far I am really liking it as I have a few good and close friends who all have bubs and others how have bigger kiddies and all that but no one that I hang with has a FIFO DH/DP so they don't really know what it is like know what I mean.

I to am starting to wonder for how much longer I can do the whole FIFO esp once bub number 2 comes along.

Kazamataz Heya darls i didn't know you were thinking about moving were is your DH working? Or have I just got :bfp: brain again:rolleyes:

Hi Jesse. Thanks for popping back in. It's great to know there's others out there who are happy to share their secrets on surviving with hubby working away. My DH is 2 and 1. I think if he was on 1 and 1 he just might drive me crazy. lol.
I've never heard of Murgon. What state is that in?

Nah not pg brain, we only just decided that we want to move.

After my little freak out over Asher when he got sick and how sick I was yesterday I just said that I didn't think FIFO was working for me anymore.

The other mines Jesse has worked at it wasn't an option for me to come live out there and before we had Asher I wouldn't have really wanted to.

Things are different now I guess, So yeah Jesse has put our names down on the waiting list.
We'll have to wait and see what happens.
It could take awhile so Perth is stuck with us for the time being

Hi Jessie!

I'm a work widow and have 3littlies too. I totally understand the desire to be closer to your DH when they work away but after moving 4 times in 13months in an attempt to have DH close to home I gave up as it still meant long days for me and kids who wanted their daddy no matter what. Much easier to be *around* family and friends for us to have roots than to be near DH. As much as I miss my DH when we were near him he'd be leaving around 5/5.30 am and home sometimes after 6pm and the kids were usually in bed by 7pm so not a whole lot of quality time to be had. where as when DH is home he is able to give us his full attentin so to speak which suits us. We are however looking for DH to get a job closer to home with family friendly hours hopefully either end of the year or by next financial year. Cos I'm not moving again, lol.

sorry blathered on and taken over your thread but yeah I understand what it's like with the young ones in the house and no daddy around.

We'll be moving to Leinster same as Berniebabe.

We'll have to have a few meets before I leave and I'm so staying on bubhub, I love it here

:iagree:Spaghettimummy about the Quality time thing. The good part about going residential is Jesse will still work one week on, on week off.

So not only do we see him every night he has a whole week off to spend with us :smiliedance:

It is in WQld - looks like you girls are all in the west eh?

sorry blathered on and taken over your thread
Not at all Nat, I really enjoyed reading your stuff - must go back and see the ages of your littluns - hopefully it is in your sig

So where is the best place/thread to catch up with you guys? Do you have one that you pop into regularly to keep each other going?

Scott is away tomorrow, I still hate it when he 'leaves the nest' - particularly at times that I might feel a bit down (like now for example!) - sometimes it just all feels so endless (bookwork, housecleaning, entertaining and teaching the kids - and so on)

I am usually OK but every now and then it is just all such a cycle!

Anyway - moaning at you all aready, how is that for brazen!

T'rah for now
Jess

Hey if you can't moan to us who can you moan to.

There seems too be alot of WA girls chatting at the mo but I'm sure there's many others too.

We've recently started a chat thread - "Parents with partners working away chat thread". That we use for, well, chatting on. See you there soon!
