View Full Version : Nappy Starter Packs
I'm sure I saw a starter pack SOMEWHERE for pocket nappies. Some website :/ It had a heap of nappies for newborn+, including night time ones or something.
But I can't remember where I saw it (and I'd much rather get some 'pack' to begin the clothie experience with rather than having my mind boggled more than what it already is trying to work out what I should get and how many) hehe.
Can anyone point me to some sites :)
Thank you!

Was it Greens? (http://www.greenkids.com.au) I know they do packages fom only 2 nappys plus inserts :)
Aah yes, twas Greens I think (the page looks familiar) but I think the packs have changed since I last looked :/
If anyone else knows any other starter pack or packs in general, throw them at me!
Lots of the WAHMs do newborn packs or trial packs. Try these ones

Where and When is Real Nappies Week?
Thank you :)
Hey, just a question and I feel like an complete idiot asking this but it just occured to me - with a pocket nappy :o I feel like an idiot asking :o you use the inserts and the liners, right? So... do you change the actual nappy with each change or just the insert?
:o
Told you it was a stupid question. (at least I'm asking before I let my kid run around in poo-encrusted pants, right?)

Dont be silly we have all been there & done that !!!! Hell im still learning !!!!!
I feel like an idiot asking you use the inserts and the liners, right?
With pocket nappies you need an insert whether it be a folded up terry square, a hand towel, microfibre insert or a hmep insert its up to you & what you prefer & what works for bubs
So... do you change the actual nappy with each change or just the insert?
Well with the likes of a Green Kids you should change the whole thing but ive heard of some who just change the insert for me its just easier & i prefer the idea of changing the whole thing. But if you get something like an eenees then you can just change the insert as its directly against bubs so you pull it out & replace but the outer shell can be reused as much as you want unless it gets soiled.
Told you it was a stupid question. (at least I'm asking before I let my kid run around in poo-encrusted pants, right?)

Dont worry i was asking all sorts of questions when i was working out what to do so dont worry you still learn as you go when you get them as you need to learn to stuff them to whats suitable for bubs etc. Tis all fun & games ! But well worth it :D
Thanks Ally :)
I was showing Chris the green kids last night :D he thought they were cool. Said we'll buy a bunch of nappies with the baby bonus! :smiliedance:

Tis funny how you can get them hooked !
Evan loves them LOL & even gets excited when bubs is in his "Dreamytimes" LOL cause he has this HUGE big bum & its sooooo adorable !
Im so glad we changed :D
hehehe! Big Bum Babies!
Chris' sister used terry-flat cloths but switched to 'sposies for going out because terry flats were impractical while out and about, especially for storing spoiled ones and when someone else changed them..
So what's the deal with pockets and stuff, impractical? we'll make it work?
Chris still wants to have packets of 'sposies on hand for that reason is all. (and the matter of convienence of not having to carry around a pooey nappy appeals to me too.)
Is this something I have to think about when I grab a nappy bag - find one with an air tight, water tight, nuclear bomb tight seal?
nikki ...
do you want to have coffee and chat nappies??? (honestly .. and sadly  one of my FAVOURITE things to do!!!) I could bring my stash over and you could have a squiz....
if you give me enough notice I could grab a few off a friend too???
PM me if you want... I know you aren't that far from me :D
xx
hehe Veve! I'd have a cuppa just to be able to sit down and chat for a bit! And Nappies can come into the convo! :D
Maybe in a week or two? this weekend is chockers with bridal showers and birthdays, but next weekend (from Friday onwards) I'm free!

Now i wish i was a brisvega gal :(
Seriously though it isnt too bad carrying around a "loaded" nappy LOL we either use the plastic pocket insert thingy that came in our original nappy bag as its like a little satchel then zips up no dramas otherwise worse case scenario we use old plastic bags. I often get rid of the poo outta the nappy if Baz is with me otherwise if im alone i just wait till im home.
I hope to start making my own PUL bags for nappy carrying :D
ooooh ally - let me know when you DO ... I'm still waiting for my first wet bag... and I really want TWO :D
- nikki .. jsut let me know when you are free... whenever... wherever you want!!
ooooh nappies :smiliedance: ... coffee... :smiliedance: chocolate ... ooooooh :smiliedance:
xx
Well Jenny, make sure you drag Nikki along to Real Nappy Week, now won't you. :smiliedance:
