Yep nieces and nephews, most of them from the day they were born. I was still as nervous as anything picking up my own little princess when she first arrived though.
You forget how little they are inbetween.

yep, when i was younger if there was a baby i was there....
then i cared for 2 kids and the youngest was 8 months when i started.

DP however had only held 1 baby and that was my nephew who was born about a year and a half before DD1....gosh, i could not imagine getting to 31 and never having held a baby.

I am the 2nd eldest of 8 children, so i had held my fair share of newbies. However, when i hold a newborn now, i completely forgot how fragile they are. They are soo little.

Yes lots, they were cousins/brothers sisters ect.

I didnt like holding them to much as I felt that they should be close to there mother, rather than with me, I didnt want to accidentally "break" them as well.

With my own bubba I didnt have that fear.

I still feel nervous holding other peoples babies.Even now.:)

My step-mother started having kids when I was 12, so by the time I was 17, I'd even done the mom at school thing.

My 16 yr old friend who I flatted with for a year and had baby (I was 19 at the time I think ). That was the first baby I ever held. I was lucky to give her baby plenty of cuddles !:cloud9:
I think I held oneother baby ( albeit very nervously and awkwardly) after that and that was it until having my own baby!! Even that was scary for the first few days!!

Nope! Lots of friends have had babies, but I didn't like kids much, until I had my own.

Wasn't interested in holding a newborn but plenty of opportunities! lol

There's 9 years between me and my little bro. Also, my mum's sister is a whole lot older than her and starting having kids when my mum was 13, so her kids (who were at our house throughout most of their childhood and are quite close to us) started having kids young, from the time I was around 8, and the youngest of them all is now about 9 or 10, they were all around us when they were first born, but moved to Brisbane so we don't see a lot of them now. But been around lots of babies, knew how to fold and change nappies (no wipes were used then either lol) by the age of 9 when my brother came along.
