View Full Version : Growing Pains??
Hi - just wondering if anyone has experienced anything like this...my 3 1/2 year old son often complains about a sore knee and sometimes even wakes hysterically crying about his knee in the middle of the night! He holds it and really screams and I normally end up giving him panadol which tends to solve the problem. I have no idea what it is...it happens to both knees I think. I was talking to the chemist the other day and she said it could be growing pains but shouldnt be waking him during the night.....what do u think? If I take him to the dr I havent really got anything to show him....
i think id take him to the doctor to be on the safe side. if it is growing pains i used this oil on my girl. it worked well. its from healing hippo and its im growing massage oil, it is all natural and is made from essential oils, so they are really soothing. just a little suggestion but id see what the doctor says it might be.

This used to happen to me all the time when I was a kid - my parents would end up giving me half a mercendol - a muscle relaxant and letting me sleep it off - NOT that I'm suggesting this is what you should do.
I thought I grew out of it, then started experiencing the exact same symptoms when i was pregnant - it was sciatica, which can be treated - I don't know if this is the prob for your son, but its probably best to take him to the doc - or even a paediatric chiropractor or something.
Good luck, hope your little man feels better soon!
i know how you feel 2 of my three kids have gone through this and there is light at the end of the tunnel. they usually grow out of it. i used to give them some pain relief if they woke.
i remember having growing pains.... i think my mum would rub a deap heat kind of lotion on my legs :)

Yep remember them greatly. What an annoying part of life! Mine occurred all the time, and still do. My Mum used to call it growing pains - but I think another term is called 'restless legs'. It used to be so bad that i would have trouble going to sleep. I still get it occassionally - not as bad though.
I was told ( i know its probably an old wives tale ), but your feet in a tub of cold water. See what happens.
