Hi there, was wondering if anyone would be able to offer any suggestions for me?
my 2 and 1/2 yo daughter has cerebral palsy (only right side affected). as a result she wears a splint on her right leg. she is extremely active (her cp is very mild). we have huge problems in trying to find appropriate shoes. i want her to have good quality trainers (she attends day care) that will accomodate the splint.
we have tried many things - taking insoles out/adding insoles to the other shoe, extending the velcro straps...the list goes on.
i am going to go shopping tomorrow for some clarks shoes, they might help.
can't get shoes too big, as she will trip over..
I have asked around at the centre for cerebral palsy, and apart for the insole idea, can't seem to get many suggestions. options seem to be quite limited!
any suggestions?

Google tht COMFORT AND FIT STORE. They seem to be the only Australian company catering to shoes for this!!!

Thanks so much to both of you for suggesting comfort and fit! We found there is one store here in perth...got all excited and went there last saturday, alas, they were closed! I will be giving them call soon to book a fitting...
we ended up finding some trainers for Amelie, they will do until we get some proper shoes sorted..forgive me for the full text - I am not used to all the abbreviating etc!
i had a look on some of the other threads, and i couldn't understand half of it!
anyway, once again - thank you so much for your suggestions - much appreciated!
hopefully can chat soon! hard to find time between working full time/day care/hubby on shift work! arhgghh the list goes on!!

In the 80s Dad went to Hong Kong and got shoes custom made so that they were built up higher on the right foot and had holes for his calipers (different I know).

I know that hand making shoes is a dying art, but is there anyone local that does it?
