View Full Version : Who uses MCN and is on tank water?
I've been looking at using MCN this time but we are on tank water and I was wondering if anyone else is and if it made a big difference to how much you got through. So far we haven't had to buy any in and I don't want to go MCN then end up spending $300 on a tanker of water iykwim.
Anyway hope someone can help.
We're not on tank water, but they really dont use much more water, I havent noticed an increase in my water usage since i've been using them.
But if you have to get water in, I'd probably be reluctant to try it, especially with the initial huge layout costs of mcn's.
I wash my nappies every day in a front loader with a prewash cycle so its only an extra load each day. Can you work it out on that.
A lot of people wash every 2-3 days but I cant bring myself to leave them that long.
I'm on tank water, but we have 4 enormous tanks and have never run out of water yet!
We only have one and I think it is 12,000 gallon so hopefully wouldn't run out but you just don't know.

I do one extra load every second day.
That really isn't a whole lot of water, and there are things you can do (if you don't already) to offset that - such as only flushing #2's and the like :)
Do you have a top or front loader?
When I used to have a top loader, I used to bucket the kids bathwater into the washing machine and put the nappies on to wash - so I was using hardly any extra water at all for nappies :flowerz:
Thanks for the replies I've got a front loader and its a 5A water rating I got the best for water effiecency.
I think i'm definatley going to give it a go when I can afford to buy a few nappies.
