So what nappy options will you be going for with your bubs?

I am definitely an MCN fan but will probably still use the odd sposie here and there.

I am planning on getting some Kissaluv contours with BB covers for the first 8 or so weeks and a few small Magicalls to go out in.

Then I have a lot of OSFA from DS that I can use for both. And will have to buy a few more to add to the stash.

So what are your plans?

Sposies? What brand?

Flats and covers?

MCN? What brand? How many?

CLOTH ALL THE WAY BABY!!! :D

When I get to Australia I'm getting 4 Sandmans, and some of those DreamEze ones, and something else, can't remember, for night for DS and the new baby ones he's a bit older.

For night I'll use the BB's I already have, just have to make some new covers.

I'm making my own NB pockets and AIO's when I get home, have the fabric all ready.

Wouldn't mind some itti bitti's for the new bub, but it depends on what I make myself.

I would like to try mcn this time around as i always used disposables before. There seems to be so many different types though i feel a bit lost!Last thing i knew cloth nappies were just those white towel things that you did up with safety pins but now they seem completely different!!

I have Wee Man's stash of small FuziBunz & Happy Heinies packed up in a box, ready to go. But I'm going to have to make more inserts because he's still using about half of them in his big nappies (because I made them able to go in both). I'm also going to have to make more wipes - two kids in nappies is going to use up my stash *really* quickly.

For those wanting to know more about MCNs, have a look at this site (http://www.ozclothnappies.org/irc.html) and this site (http://www.thenappynetwork.org.nz/) (if you're in NZ, they have hire kits avail round the country, so you can try all sorts of different nappies before splashing out & buying a set...I'm sure I've seen something similar for Aussie but can't find it now).

For those ladies living in the City of Casey here in Melbourne, have a look here (http://www.nappynetwork.org.au/news_20080512.php) for info on their monthly draw for a refund of half the cost of your nappies (if purchased after June 1, 2008)...hmmm...makes me want to go buy more nappies (shhhh...don't tell hubby! It's purely to support the scheme...honest!!).

With #2, the hospital provided reusable nappies from birth - which was fantastic! Unfortunately the hospital I'm going to this time only provides disposables, which I'm not as keen on :(

My personal favourites are pocket nappies (has a waterproof outer shell with a sort of pocket that you stuff as much absorbancy as you need into)...I find them good for night time & they dry quickly on the line plus they tended to fit my Wee Man (who was very chubby & needed big rises) much better than other sorts of nappies. We had some one size fits all pocket nappies but, to be honest, I found they never fit properly, no matter what setting you put them on, were horribly complicated to do up &, when using them for smaller babies, created a really thick pad of fabric round the tummy - which was very bulky & looked very uncomfy. Plus ours always leaked. I never had problems with using the FuziBunz at night.

Oooh...& I have some of my homemade still round here. I dunno - there's something quite satisfying seeing your child wearing a nappy no one else has (Wee Man had everything from jelly beans to flames to vintage Micky Mouse...so cute!).

Thinking of 'Real Nappies' for the 1st 2 months & then Ds's old ones should fit. Will buy some new Ittis for Bump though.

Decisions decisions!!!

I have some MCN's from when DS was little so I will use those part-time. I also have a few nice covers to wear over a sposie or fitted nappy. I particularly like my starbunz monkey cover and DS would wear that with a T shirt that said "Cheeky Monkey" :)
I am also a reseller so I can have my pick of MCN's but I tend to favour them more for a baby girl as I think they look nice under a dress or a skirt. With a boy, they are nearly always covered up.

Defintely sposies at night for us.

CLOTH all the way here!!!
Although, I am still really undecided about what to add to my stash. I love my mandy macs so possibly a whole heap more of those(does anyone know how they go on a newborn?) and lots if tiny hand knits....so can't wait to get knitting!!!! I will probably make some of my own fitted pockets too. I didn't start cloth until ds2 was 4 months old(and he was big) so I have no idea what is good when they are tiny - any suggestions?
I'm still undecided about the first few days too - may use sposies(i don't really wan tto though) to avoid getting meconium poo on my nappies, not sure.

#2 was 8lb 10oz when he was born. The small FuziBunz gaped slightly round the legs at first but we only ever had maybe one or two leaks because of that. He chubbed up really quickly (he was a lovely chubby bub) & they lasted till he was around 6 months old, when he finally grew out of the rise. I tried quite a few different nappies on him & he simply outgrew them really quickly - the Fuzis lasted him the longest. I then went straight to Large & he's still using them.

i will be using mcn's with this bub.

im still trying to figure out what is best and what to use when etc.

i think a few more mcn meets are in order.

what ones do you recommend? i have heard good things bout Green Kids and Krap Katchers.

Which ones are easiest to use? Im thinking to use pocket nappies with a few differnt boosters mostly bamboo with a few hemp.

I like the idea of AIO but they seem bulky. I want enough to last me 2-3days so ive been told i need about 20-30. Is this right?

I need help ladies...

I just made my first pocket mcn's for the new bubby, they're white with black pawprints and black microfleece. :D SO TINY!!! :goodvibes:

I don't have a snap press anymore though, and I don't have any black snaps anyway so it's not completely finished...

Can't wait to have a go at the other ones for DS, woohoo!!! :yelclap::D
