Hi Mums-to-be :wave:
Im Anna and Ive just started studying for my Doula certification with Childbirth International. To gain my certification I have to attend 2 births so Im looking for couples that are interested in having a Doula help them with their birth experience.
Location:
I will be in Townsville from July 4th onwards and can take clients from the Townsville region.
A bit about me:
Im 23 years old. I am the mother of two little boys, Jett (20mths) and Ripley (5mths). I aspire to be a midwife but feel that being a Doula will give me a greater understanding of the birth process by letting me experience a birth from a different point of view, instead of being the medical staff or mother-to-be.
Philosophy on Birth:
I believe that no matter what circumstances you end up birthing in, every birth experience should be one you look back on with beautiful memories. I also believe that the Daddy-to-be plays an important role in the birthing process no matter what aspect he chooses to support you in so Im there not just to support you as a woman but also to support you and your partner as a couple/parents. I believe couples should go into their birth informed of their options and feel confident that no matter what occurs they can have a satisfying birth experience.
What I Can Offer:
Emotional, physical and informative support to both of you before, during and after birth, and because a Doula is always learning if I cannot personally help you then I will aid you in finding the resources that can. I am open to and supportive of all birthing choices but have experience with inductions and drug free birthing. I also have personal experience with infertility, pre eclampsia, birthing after miscarriage and pregnancy issues like pre term labour.
