View Full Version : False Negative?

Hello all, this is my first post.

I’m just wondering, I’ve been doing some at home pregnancy tests (several actually, it’s getting to be a bit silly! ;)) and they are turning out negative. I have TOTAL baby brain - vague, dizzy as well as nausea, sore breasts a little cramping, unbearable heartburn which I don’t think I’ve ever had in my life, headaches, I’ve gained weight and mood swings (my poor partner!) I’m now 4 days and counting late and I FEEL pregnant. It’s also because my body is just doing all these things it NEVER does like I’m never late and I never put on weight and I rarely get sick….

I know it’s entirely possible that they are falsely negative but the wait is driving me bananas! I’m getting a blood test on Saturday. I guess I was just wondering is anyone else was going through this. (also a bit hard because my partner is away on tour at the moment)

Thanks!!

Have you done a few different brand HPT's? As they will all have different sensitivity levels.

Goodluck at the bloodtest on Saturday!

Hi! I’ve tried pregnosis and discover. Both negative. I’m SO confused! I think the biggest red flag was that I'm putting on weight.
All through my teenage years I had to take weight gain formula because my metabolism was just too fast and I’ve now been the same weight for over 10 years. Until a few weeks ago! Thanks for the good luck wishes!

Hi there, welcome to bub hub!

I did four pregnancy tests when I was pregnant with DD, all came up negative. My warning signs were putting on weight and pimples. The test didnt show positive until I was at the doctors @ 8 weeks pregnant. So yes, they can be false negatives!

Good luck at the doctors, you may be pleasantly surprised :)

Hi Sallie,

I feel as though i am good as pregnancy tests after being rediculus this week and doing about 14,ok maybe more butdont want to increase the chance of me being labeled nuts! and lota different brands, out of all of them i found first response was the best by far.But as craftymum said try a few brands.

Good luck, Sim
