hi girls

just have a quick question regarding my slow cooker lol (still kinda a newbie :o)

im doing a silverside, most of the recipes say 2 cups or 2 liters of water, but it doesnt cover the silverside. Should i be putting enough water so that my silverside is completely immersed in water?
or just follow the recipe?

tia :D

I always cover the silverside with water but that's just in normal, large saucepan. I bring it to the boil then simmer for acouple of hours.

in a saucepan I cover the silverside, but in the slow cooker I don't. I would follow the recipe, ours always comes out beautifully and I don't have it covered with water.

I don't cover it in the slowcooker... it's always lovely

just make sure to check through the cooking if the water has all gone, you might need to top it up just a bit

I always cover it, add brown vinegar and bay leaves and it is always perfect!

I only put about a cup or two of water in with silverside in the slow cooker. It's more steamed than boiled in the SC, rather than boiled like it would be in a saucepan.

Also, in the slow cooker remember to take it out of the plastic. (You cook it in the plastic when you do it in a saucepan)
