Hi there MCN users

I need some help, pleeeeeeeeeease!

My DS is a big night time wetter, and I mean BIG time :hair:. I've gotten to the point that I dread getting him up in the morning as I know he will be sopping wet, right thru his nappy, PJ's and bed linen :hair: :hair: :hair:.

Therefore I'm wanting to know from experienced MCN users what is the best MCN suitable for a big wetter during the night. I've heard of some people talk about 'Krap Katchers' for night time use, so if anyone has had success with this MCN or other brands please let me know.

(BTW my DS is near 6 months old if that makes a difference.)

TIA

Sam... :flowerz:

My DD uses a Krap Katcher most nights and she has never leaked and the boosting is never totally soaked and they easily last 13hrs. I think the Krap Katchers would be great for a heavy wetter too. My DD isn't a heavy wetter though so cant tell you from experience. I have heard that they are great for heavy wetters :)

It's a bit hard to suggest something without knowing what you are using now :)

I have a big wetter and we use Wild Childs Dreamy Nights with wollies over them or Zada Night nappies .... though at the moment I've resorted to sposies at night and changing him at midnight (as they don't last us the night either) as I can't get his sleep suits over the big cloth butt.

I started using MCN because the sposies just weren't cutting it at night time. Krap Katchers weren't really around then so I bought Baby Beehinds bamboo nappies and they were fantastic. Sure we had to boost them to the sky but it at least he woke up dry LOL.

If you're going to buy any nappies check out darlingsdownunder dot com dot au cos last week they had a sale on a heap of nappies.

Now we use either a baby beehinds or a home made pocket nappy stuffed with 4 layers of bamboo and 4 of microfibre with this doubled where its needed and we haven't had a leak at all.

We use Krap Katchers too- I used to use Baby Beehinds bamboo but they were too bulky, and leaked anyway. We can stuff heaps into the krap katcher and have not had any leaks (except when DH has put it on too loose!).

I think that if you got one of these and stuffed it with lots of thirsty stuff like bamboo your son should be fine.

Sorry, I should have elaborated, I use sposies...

Unfortunately sposies just aren't cutting it here... I suppose I could try and change him once during the night but as he now sleeps 12 hour nights I hate the thought of disturbing him, knowing my luck I'll wake him and then he won't want to go back to sleep

Sorry for my ignorance, for those that use krap katchers... you say you stuff them, what exactly do you stuff them with? Can you buy inserts? Or do you buy fabric and put that in yourself? I really have no idea, this is all new to me :o...

Exactly! Sposies just aren't cutting it here either for night time use. Thanks for the website, I'll check it out now...

As far as I know Krap Katchers are a pocket nappy which means that there's an opening at the back and you put in the absorbant material in there. I've found the most absorbant to be bamboo and microfibre and you can buy inserts from most nappy sellers.

I've made my own for night time by overlocking 50cmx50cm piece of bamboo and one of microfibre together and then folding them. I fold in half, then in half again and fold down the top so it's 8 layers of each right at the front of the nappy where it's needed for boys.

The beauty of pocket nappies is that you can put as much absorbant stuff in it as you like and they're pretty easy to make yourself.

DD is a real heavy wetter and we use bubblebubs bamboo good night sleep tight nappy (BGNST) large sized heavy wetter with a PUL cover. I love these nappies, they do take a while to dry because of the many layers of bamboo but I bought 6. They are exy but they'll last till she's 18kg. If you're interested some websites to look at are : Darlingsdownunder, babyblossom and bubblebubs. Krap Katchers didn't work for us, she'd leak from the sides:no:

I've used Totsbots Bamboozles with a booster and a PUL cover overnight on my 2 year old with no leaks.

Not sure if he classifies as a heavy wetter or not but even when the nappy is completely soaked in the morning we don't have any leaks and his PJs and bed are dry.

I'm another BB night user here. Although I've only just gotten back into it as I had to buy a Bubba J cover as the BB cover was no longer fitting my nappy and the booster. It's not that the cover has shrunk it's just that when I was supposed to upsize the cover, there's nowhere to go if my boy is already in the large PUL.

I'm pretty sure my boy is a heavy wetter. It's really hard to compare as I only have one. But he generally has the BB nappy (um .... counting as I type .... 11 layers in the nappy itself) then the booster (4 layers when folded in half) and it's all soaked by the morning but now leaking outside the cover so his bedclothes are all dry .... yay!

Can't say it's not stinky though but he's stinky in a sposie too!

I havent tried out many night nappys.
But the Krap Katcher is a winner here. My DD is a huge wetter at night too.
I do still change it half way thought the night though.

I too have a heavy wetter and so far I have found Zadas to be the best, they are awesome!

Although I haven't yet tried a snoozyones or Krap Katcher which I would like too, I have heard good things about both of those.
