TTC & Dontating Blood

Just wondering if anyone can tell me if it is safe to donate blood while TTC?

When I had my DS, I made a promise that I would become a blood donor. Since then, every time the Red Cross were in my area I was either breastfeeding or sick. Now that they are finally here again, we're TTC. I desperately want to give blood, but I don't want to cause myself any problems unnecessarily...

Can someone give me some advice please?

I am a regular donor and the lovely red cross ladies won't take my blood whilst I am ttcing, and said if they had known in my last two collections before starting they wouldnt have taken it then either cause you aren't mean to give blood for 6 months leading up to ttcing either.

So in short they don't really recommend it. Or my case even let you.

Good to know, thanks for the info. I guess that means that it'll have to wait until I'm finished TTC, being pregnant and breastfeeding.
