Scan today after pain in lowar abdoman...

Hello, sorry but i copied and pasted this post in a couple of places so i get a response.
I had a scan today at the maternity hospital because i have had persistant pains on my right side. From my calculations i am 5 weeks and 3 days pregnant (being first day of lmp was the 18/4) but the scan only showed a sac but no yolk sac or baby in it yet. Has anyone else experienced this? am i out with my calculations or could it be something worse? could it be that im going to have a miscarraige cos the baby isnt forming? im so scared now. please be honest. i need to know. where abouts is the pain?
i have been having horrid pains since conception pretty much.. am 24 weeks today and Still SOOO sore. have to see a physio on Friday

with your calculations are you going by your lmp?

the pains could just be your ligaments stretching

that is reall freaky.. i loked at the replies i had and there was one that was kind of like a poem or something.. i didnt get it and i replied asking wat it meant and then it was gone... very strange.... um.. the pains r on my right side...i have a cyst on my ovary. i am more worried about the sac with no yolk sac or baby yet....

oh i also asked the ob at the hospital the other day about my pains and h said (walking out the door mind you) that its just stretching pains it gets alot worse with your second baby.

I don't know about the pain..........but I had a scan 2 weeks ago, which gave me a gestation of 5weeks 6days and I had the same findings as you........ a sac, but no yolk sac. From what I can gather it is just too early to see much more. But I am worried sick anyway......I can't stop thinking about it. I am going for another scan on Saturday. Did they suggest you organise another scan in a week or two? Sorry, not much help, I know........jsut letting you know I am in hte same boat. Hugs for us and lots of sticky baby dust. Oh, and DON'T google.

going from the lmp dates. the dr told me always to knock off about 2 weeks on 'being pregnant'


so it maybe have just been to early to see much of anything at the moment.

just dont google sweet it can be your worst enemy in situations like this!

i remember when i had my first ultrasound with DS i was 5 weeks 6 days and he was 0.35mm big! so they are SO small then they probably couldnt see anything. i think it was nomsie had the same thing on here and her turned out to be twins!

Yeah well, I already googled....big mistake. DF took the kids out on Saturday morning and instead of taking some time out for myself, I googled and worried..then snapped at him when he got home and bawled my eyes out!
Oh and I just had a thought......did they do an internal scan or just on your tummy?

Yep I had exactly this! I had a scan at 7 weeks (according to my LMP) and they only found a sac. Had another scan at 9 weeks (LMP) and they found a little peanut with a heartbeat and dated me at 7 weeks 4 days. So I was a little over a week behind my LMP.

Remember if your period is not a typical 28 day than you can't use the usual calculations accurately.

I am sure it's all fine :)
