Sorry totally non child related issue but I need help. How do you get rid of dead mouse smell. Someone has died in my laundry and despite pulling the whole place apart I cant find the little ****er. Think he is either in a wall or under the hot water cylinder. It smells so bad Please does any one have any ideas????

Vent it out....is the best option...

Until you can find it, and remove it, there isnt really anything that will keep the smell away..

We have our fridge down stairs since we moved, and got it up stairs yesterday to find the bottom tray that sits underneath the fridge in case it leaks.....(we found that before we came up stairs with the fridge)...had a decomposing mouse in there..

It was in the garage, I could smell it for ages, but couldnt find it as our garage is full of boxes....

So took it out cleaned it, vented the area and now the smell is gone....

You can try using those sprays which neutralise the odours.....but they are only a quick temporary fix...

We had a dead mouse inside our wall cavity. We were unable to get it out. It stank:barf:

We closed off the room (study) and kept the windows open 24/7. The smell took about 3 weeks to completely go.

That was 2 years ago and it has been fine since then.

We had the same in DS room a few weeks ago. It is the most disgusting smell isn't it?!!! :barf:I turned his room upside down but the mouse must have been in the wall so there wasn't much I could do about it. Just aired his room out and the smell took about 2 weeks to go away completley.

Yep convinced the little buggar is in the wall. If you get down low and smell you cant smell it until you stand up. Cat is no help he just sat on the washing machine looking at me as if to say what are you doing. Went and brought 3 air fresheners today. The biggest pain is that I can shut the laundry door but the window goes out into the sun room. Hope it will decompose fast smell little ****.

LOL sorry but i find this thread funny, how dare that mouse die and ruin your day lol

but it does stink!! iv smelt it before! i agree with some others if you cant get to it, or find where it is i think venting out the rooms is only thing you can do:( and let time pass and it should stop smelling over time. hopefully your laundry is far from other living areas!

EEEKK We had a rat die under our floorboards and there was no way to get under there to remove it. And it was in our loungeroom...... near the front door. Well I didn't invite anyone over for a while because of the smell, it was rank. It took about 2 - 3 weeks to go. I bought a smelly fan thing and it seemed to make it worse. Oh yeah it was summer too.

We have mice in our garage again. About to bait them but am not looking forward to the smell and having to find them as the garage is full of packed boxes. Hope they don't getinto them somehow and die. that would just be :barf:. I agree that airing out is the best solution.

Thanks for your ideas and tips. Ended up with a container of bi carb and baking powder, cut onions in water and an air freshener in the laundry. I think the little buggar is on the down side of decomposing as I can go in there today without wanting to :barf:. Got that bad last week the cat wouldn't even go in the laundry to eat his food
