Hi All,

I have over the last two days been experiencing on and off lower abdominal pain. It kind of feels like a cramp, but sometimes with it is a sharp intense kind of pain that just lasts for a few seconds. I have not had any sign of bleeding but I'm still worried as this is my first pregnancy and I'm not sure what to expect.

Any Suggestions.

this is normal, try not to worry unless it gets really intense and with red blood. I had pretty intense cramping the other night before I got my BFP and DH wanted me to go to the ER, but all is good now. Do you get it when you cough/sneeze or get up quickly? I do and that's ok too. Everything in there will be growing and stretching over the next few months we can't expect not to feel any of it. Congratulations on your BFP!!!

It generally suggested that that sort of pain in the absence of any bleeding etc is just the ligaments that hold the uterus in place stretching out with new growth. I've experienced it with both of my (successful) pregnancies, and have a beautiful nearly-3-year-old and am due in 1 week with my 2nd. Try not to stress :hugs: but its always worth having a chat with your careprovider if you're unsure :)

Thank you, that helps. Its does get more intense when i cough or sneeze and even more so when i get up from lying down. There has definately been no sign of blood which has put my mind at ease a little, but being a first timer I guess I'm being a little paranoid. If it gets worse or there is any sign of bleeding i'll have it checked out.

My first scan is the 10th june, ill be more comfortable after that.

Does it feel like a stitch feels? Cos thats how I feel and its called round ligament pain. Its pain that u feel when your uterus and all the ligaments stretch.

Yes I am getting this too - I was a bit worried as I cant remember it happening with my DD (16 months)

Not long to your appointment - very exciting!

I was like that during my last pregnancy. I had pains and aches until about 20 weeks
This time the pain is very minimal, just a few cramps now and then and some stretching.
I think it's true when they say it's less painful with the second because everything has been stretched before.
