Antiobotics and Behaviour

Hi

I was wondering if anyone else has come across this: Aden is on Antibiotics for an ear infection, and his behaviour since then has been terrible. He isnt a perfect kid at all, and he can throw a huge tantrum any time, but it just seems when he goes on Antibiotics (he was one them for awhile last year) that his behaviour changes. Now it could just be that he is tired of being sick, and is getting frustrated, with being stuck inside, and just wants to get out and run around. We usually go out most days, and he is a very active boy, so when we havent been out for awhile he can get really cranky, which I understand because so do I :D . However I know my father moods change when he is on Antibiotics, thank goodness its not that often. And I think unfortunately Aden is the same. Does anyone have any ideas :confused:

Kids antibiotics are full of artificial sweeteners. Refer the thread in this section from last week or the week before.

Maybe there is some kind of artificial sweetener/colouring/flavouring in the medicine which Aden is sensitive to?

Or sometimes anti-biotics can bung up the bowels or bring on the runs, either way if he's feeling a bit yukky in the tummy and pooing differently, that might explain him being out of sorts.

Thanks for that ladies, I didnt even think of artificial sweetener/colouring/flavourings, can I use my sleep deprive brain as an excuse :o . Its hard enough when one child is sick, but when both are :banghead: And I feel awful for them, they dont understand why they feel so yuck, why do kids have to get sick (silly question I know, justing venting a bit). Off to do some research, thanks again :hugs: !!

about a month ago my DS had an ear infection and he was given some medicine that i swear mad ehim hypo he never wanted to sleep ever :eek: :mad: after about a week he was fine coz he ran out and was better :smiliedance:
