View Full Version : Names
Someone had to start the thread!
Poor DH has to suffer NINE WHOLE MONTHS of me rabbiting on about names...so I thought I would share the load.
Has anyone thought of any yet?

Oooh I LOVE talking names!
For a boy I absolutely love the name Noah but DH doesn't like it (pfft to him I say!). We do agree on Hunter though. Middle name will most likely be William.
For a girl I am loving Lailah Elizabeth or Lailah Hope and we also like the name Allie.
So many nice names to choose from!
What about you, have you got any in mind yet?

Girls names I like heaps, Charlotte, Isabella, Layla (is that the same as Lailah M2M?) Sienna (getting common), plenty more I can't think of right now. Middle name might be Maree. What is peoples thoughts on Hazel is it to old?
Boys names I have more trouble I can't find one I feel strongly about. We were going to use Aiden last time but now I'm not sure... I like Connor but DP won't go for it I don't think. Middle name will be after my dad.

It actually sounds nice with all your other names if you wanted to use it as a middle name?
Ooooh lovely names.
i really like Leila too. In fact if DS3 had been a girl he would have been Freya or Leila.
This time I think the (current) front runners are
Rupert
Daisy
I also like Alfie, but we already have Archie so that would be a little confusing (for me when calling them at least!!)
And toying with the idea of Freya still - I have loved that name since I was 14, but think Daisy fits better with the boys names.
Middle names will be either my mum's middle name or my uncle's. We used DH's father's middle name on DS3 and my father & brother's middle name for DS1, so if it is a boy it's over to Uncles!!

I still have names 'left over' from when DS was born, but haven't really thought about it yet too much.
BOYS
Ryan
Luke
Jackson/Jaxon
GIRLS
Emma
Mia
Jenna
Jazmyn/Jasmyn
Middle name most likely Margaret (after both DH & my mum's name)

The girl's middle name will be "Eve"
so: Sophie Eve; Jessica Eve; Phoebe Eve....

Yep Layla is said the same as Lailah, I just like the Lailah spelling better. I LOVE the name Hazel- it's not too old at all but old names are in fashion again anyway  I also like Lailah Amy as my sisters name is Amy so that's an option as well.
Just mum- we might both end up with a Noah William? ;)

Lol we might M2M although that is number 3 on the list atm because I don't like it as much as the others in terms of it suiting DS1's name (Hugo Thomas).

I'm so glad it's not just me thinking of names already! I have so many running through my head  Too many to list!
Althought the BF has told me if it's a boy he gets to name it and if it's a girl I get to! It's so not working that way! I think we should both have to agree!

That's what hubby wanted to do last time. His suggestion was Popeye. He was not allowed a vote after that. Funnily enough, he still seems to think he named Wee Man...until I gently reminded him his name was the 1st on the list I emailed him 3 or 4 months before he was born. Sigh...

Haha - very cute!!!
Thought I would bump this up as I am now wavering on the boys' names...
Perhaps I prefer Lucas now...or even Laurie...hmmm.
Middle name will probably be starting with an 'I' and as our surname starts with a 'K' have to be careful not to spell out L.I.K  in the initials!!!
I like old fashioned names...any ideas ladies?

Not long after my partner and I met a year ago we began talking about having kids etc and came up with a few names. We have since decided that when we get married we will do a double banger surname.
Now that goobie has come along, completely unexpected mind you, we are tossing around with names...and funnily enough our original choices are still our #1 favourites:
BOYS
(1) Edan
(2) Hayden
(3) Sebastien
(4) Kristian
(5) Leif
(6) Gene
(7) Grant
(8) Alexander
GIRLS
(1) Elena
(2) Alena
(3) Ellen
(4) Annalise
(5) Nina
(6) Lilliana

We've pretty much decided on Matilda Jane for a girl. And for a boy either Samuel James or Benjamin James

I LOVE the name Matilda but sadly DH has no goed it
We can only agree on one name and that is Ashleigh Mei it has been my fave for years and years (after a good friend stole my definite name for a girl, middle name and all:crying: after DH told them)
Ashleigh doesnt really go with our surname but the more I say it - the more it sounds OK. We have had that since DS was born
Mei - chinese for beautiful ... I grew up in Asia and DS's middle name is Kai meaning victorious in Chinese.

i am very surprised the names we love havent come up yet.
for a boy...
Zack Jacob John ( a long name i know but we both had grandfathers pass away in the past just over twelve months and Jacob was my papas surname and john was his grandads middle name so we dicided on both) im not sure whether to hyphen the jacob john or not. so it would be Zack Jacob-John. then it would be shorter as a middle name and would be JJ... hmmmm...
and for a girl i am thinking
Maddison Grace
DF isnt that keen although he hasnt come up with any others. so it'll be that until her tells me what he likes :P

I love to the name Daisy for a girl but as we already have Jasmine DP has laughed this suggestion off as we would become like Mrs Bucket from Keeping up apperances where all the siblings were named after flowers.
So, for a girl:
Scarlett or Isobella are front runners.
My sister thinking she was having a boy wanted to call hers Jaycee (pronounced JC) after John (Her hubbies father) and Clifford (our father) who died within a month of each other, she ended up having a girl and called her Jaycee anyway, I love made up and unusual names.
Haven't really thought up any boys names but like Connor, Brodie, Riley, Daniel, Jake.
Jasmine was always going to be called Brooke until a week before when I changed it to Jasmine Jade and it stuck.
