Poll coming.

Most of the threads in this section are about vaccinating or not vaccinating our children.

Out of curiosity, are you vaccinated yourselves?

I've just had some blood tests done, to determine my vaccination level, as i will :fingerscrossed: be employed in the nursing profession soon, and all of my immunizations must be up to date - I only need the Hep B

I will be getting the ones i need before i begin placements etc, to protect not only myself, but my child and my future patients (i'd like to work in paediatrics). I wouldnt want to risk giving anyone, not only my child, but yours, anything that may cause them harm.

However, optional vaccines like the CC one, i will not be having.

I had all the vaccinations that were available when I was younger and in school but I said no to the HPV vaccine and I also haven't had the Hep B.

I had all but the flu shots and the HPV one.

I am very unhappy about this, to the point I have cryed, and I try to not think about it.:(

I'm pretty sure I am, although I remember when my mum was having chemo I was told (not by a GP) not to get my booster shots as mum's immune system was down.. I would have thought it would have been much worse if I had actually gone out and caught something  oh well....

I know my rubella is.. still haven't had the Gardisil yet, but will soon.

They didn't vaxx you for much when I was a kid, polio sabine, tb, diptheria is about it

I was given the rubella vaxx as a teenager, and I assume it's still ok - blood tests when I was pregnt?

I haven't had a tetanus injection for 20 years and I am severely allergic to the vaxx and the next one may kill me...

ETA - I may or may not be immunised with this years/next yrs flu vaxx as I'm doing a flu vaxx trial

I was fully vaxed until I was 6.

Some where between there and now I developed a needle phobia so haven't been vaxed in 10 years which means I have missed alot of vaxes.

I think I may have had one as a baby, then mum decided against it, or she could have before that first one.....not sure I'd have to ask her. So, no I have never been jabbed! when I had the bloods done when I was pregnant with ds my rubella immunity was very high - my gp was really suprised as I havn't had the vaccination and was an infant when I had measles.

I dunno.

I'm pretty sure I'm up-to-date... I got something done when I went to get DD's 6 month-ers done (they told me I should so I just did - meh... no side-affects, as per usual)...

I dunno though, I have no idea.

Oh wait - no I'm not - I didn't do the polio and diptheria and whatever else it was one... I wagged that day at High School to avoid having to get it done (and just filled out hte paperwork myself and never showed Mum...).

So I haven't got that one.

umm im not sure what my mother has vaxxed me for. Im up to date with my rubella as that is my responsibility.

But im pretty sure my mum didn't do me for the MMR as she was worried about it being to new at the time and she didn't trust it. What good instincts i say!! lol! So glad i was never done for them.

I've had everything. The usual ones, the ones for my job and ones for traveling, [yellow fever, cholera, rabies...]. I was too old for HPV but paid for it privately and was just about to have it when I fell pregnant. But, illogically, I always refuse the flu vaccine.

i had all the baby ones, but none since about year 4. i refused all the ones in upper primary and high school (due to not wanting a needle lol) but now i'm glad i did! i wont be having any others either. i have natural immunity to rubella as i caught it as a child

i said other. i had all my childhood vaxes, including MMR which came in when i was about 14.

but I'm also vaxxed against Hep A and B because I lived in PNG for a while. I was vaxxed for Typhoid, but I think that one has worn off now.

and I haven't had the HPV one, because I am not really at a high risk of getting HPV so I didn't bother.

Yes, unfortunately I was
I'm very disappointed about it as it can never be undone. Luckily there weren't that many vaccinations 30 years ago. I did catch the Mumps and Chicken Pox naturally so at least that is something good. My daughter will not be having any vaccinations

Similar to me, I have had, tetanus and polio vaxes as well as some boosters, and the flu shot, and I have also had about 6 shots of the MMR vax( in the last 7 yrs), and will probably need another shot in about 5wks time.
