Its about time I wrote this I was supposed to do it on her 1st birthday that was 7 and a half months ago :rolleyes: It shouldnt take too long
I woke up at about 10am onthe 7th October 2006 with some niggling pains down in my pelvis area, It wasnt painful but enough to make me pace up and down the bedroom floor and bend over every now and then.
DP said to me "Maybe we will have a baby today" and I said pffft I doubt it I've still got 9 days to go
Anyway we went to have a shower and as I was getting undressed I noticed I had blood in my nickers and I freaked!!!
I went out to the lady whom we lived with and told her I had blood and some pains down the bottom of my stomach 'she had no idea what it could be' (this was a mother of 4)
So I went and had my shower got dressed and called the hospital to tell them I had some bleeding and she told me to come in and get checked 'still I wasnt in pain' so I left all my hospital gear at home thinking I'd be back soon
We left for the hospital and on the way I was starting to get a few more pains but nothing major and not regular at all
We arrived at the hospital and I was hooked up to the monitoring machine and the doctor said "well something is definatley going on in there" I asked her so does that mean I'm in in labour am I going to have this baby today and she said well I think so anyway another dr/midwife cam in to do an internal to see if I had dilated and to my shock I was 8cm and going to have this baby very soon, they gave me something to eat and I told them they had to call my mum NOW because I needed her there with me
Mum arrived about 40 mins later. then the pains started to get intense
I asked the midwife if I could get up and go to the toilet because I really needed to poo they all told me NO you dont that is the urge to push and about 3 times I argued with them because I know I NEEDED to poo!!!
They let me get up and go and sit on the toilet I tried so hard but obviously nothing would come
They got me back up on to the bed and asked if I would like them to break my waters, having no idea I just said yeah whatever and the next minute this gross warm water was flooding underneath me so I jumped up to get in the shower on the way more water was coming out and going all over the floor I just remember continuously apoligiziong fo rthe mess I had created.
I jumped in the shower and sat down with the gas while DP put hot water over my back but the gas made me feel like I was in outer space I hated the feeling so got them to take it away.
I got back in the bed in time to push our baby into the world at each contraction my mum and the midwife would pick me up so I could squat to push It was such a relief and took alot of the pressure off my back. As I was pushing out DD's head the burning sensation was so painful I managed to let out some obscene language which my mum couldnt believe :laughing: I heard the midwife say Dont worry I've heard much worse
and After one more push our Beautiful little Girl was born and placed on my chest for her first feed.It was the most amazing experience ever.
