View Full Version : Cloth wipes fabric
Hi everyone!
I started using cloth for wipes a month or so ago. Now I've only been using them for wees. Still can't come at them for poos yet! But anyway ....
I've been using just big hankies folded in four. But I know there's all these companies out there who sell cloth wipes made out of the same fabric as the nappies.
Ok so now for my question ...
Is there really any benefit for using the bamboo fabric over just the basic cotton in hankies?
Thanks!

I cant answer your last question but i went to spotlight and got some flanelette and double them over, sometimes fold them into four, really depends on whats in the nappy :)
Its the same fabric as the flats really (the thin flats not the towel like fabric) and it cost me about $3 a metre so i got heaps. I did go through a stage where i sewed them LOL but that novelty soon wore off so i just fold them accordingly, they wash like rags handle poos well and dry nice and quickly too :)
I make them with plain flannelette one side and terry towelling the other side. The TT is great for cleaning up a pooey bum. (All bought from SL)

I went to Crazt Clark's and bought a couple of packs of face washers to use as wipes.

I managed to pick up some BBH cloth wipes. They are lovely and soft and thick too. We just use them for home on wee's and poo's on bith kiddies.
I just wash them with the nappies
I just use cheap face washers. They work beautifully. I do also have some that are terry on one side and fleece on the other and they are great too - terry side great at cleaning up poo and fleece for a softer wipe afterwards.
Very easy to make your own.
Thanks everyone! Probably no need for me to bother with anything other than the hankies hey .... unless I'm willing to try using them for poos....

I really splashed out and got some Swaddlebees wipes from NN - they're sherpa one side (lots of grip - great for poos! :)) and the other side is velour - great for a buff and polish!
I've never looked back - nice and thick so poo doesn't soak through, and have already saved us heaps (especially when you've got a mess on your hands and need a couple!)
