 Hello i am wondering if you can help me... i am 5 weeks pregnant and i have quite a sharp pain on my right hand side which is coming and going. it is quite sore wen it comes... does anyone have any suggestions on what it could be? has anyone had this pain before? does ectopic pregnancies show up with pain before now?? Im a bit worried...so replys would be wonderful... thanks!
sorry hun... never experienced that... but if your really worried... you can always ring the hospital to talk to the midwives!!! they're fantastic with all question!!!
If you haven't had a scan yet, please go and get one and check if bub is in the right place. My ectopic pregnancy only got symptomatic around 5/6 weeks, and it progressed really quickly. For your own peace of mind...go get it checked out, please. :)
I don't mean to be scare-mongering, but sometimes you really are better safe than sorry. I really hope that everything is ok for you. :)

:iagree: My EX SIL had the same thing and it wasn't picked up as easily as they we not looking for an etopic. Please mention it to your GP ASAP and get it looked into.
I dont want to scare you either, but they can be life threatening.

I had the same problem at 6 weeks with DD1. Really sharp pains on one side. I saw my GP and had an internal ultrasound. Everything was fine, he explained it as hormonal. It's worth getting it checked out, just for peace of mind.
it may or may not be ectopic.
I had severe pain at 5 weeks on 1 side and all was fine. But please go and see someone to make sure.
I had pains on one side at that time too, lasted about 2 wks...kind of like really bad cramps, which I hardly ever got anyway, so I saw my GP and he didn't seem too worried but sent me for an ultrasound anyway, and all was OK.
They had to do an internal U/S because the foetus is so tiny at that stage they could hardly see it. But very quick and easy and put my mind at ease and I think the pains stopped the next day:)
