I'm going private this time, so hopefully I will be having bubs at the South Eastern Private Hospital, by elective CS (due to medical reasons).

I had #2 at South Eastern Private last time but am having this one at St John of God (Berwick) because it's closer & they have refurbished the hospital since Wee Man was born & can now guarantee I'll get my own room after a c-section...whereas before, they couldn't (& no way am I sharing a room after major surgery when I'm paying for it!).

It's a toss up between Hua Shan hospital in Shanghai or Selangor hospital in Nambour QLD..
If it is the latter - it means I have to spend 3 months in Oz - which I am really not complaining about as it will be COLD COLD COLD in Shanghai :) BUt means 3 months away from Hubby and the kitty cat

In Bunbury - still undecided if I will be a public or private patient though as they have apparently changed the private maternity ward to a lot of double rooms, not single, so I'm not guaranteed my own room one anyway ... they're right next door to each other and it will only be for the birth that I'll be there as all care is done by my GP

Oooh :fingerscrossed: for your water birth. I wanted one last time but that went out the window when I had an early bleed in labour.

Have to wait and see.

We are private this time, but I'll be having the baby at our towns public hospital because our private hospital don't deliver babies  We have the option of travelling to a better private hospital but the closest is 2 hours away and I don't think it's very practical with a toddler to also think of.
I am hoping for a much better experience this time :fingerscrossed: I will most likely have my own room which I am looking forward to.
We are moving to Perth in 3 weeks so think it will be there...yet to decide which hospital.

I wil probably be going Monash hospital again, or maybe even Frankston. Im too high risk for Berwick (esp. if theres twins) which would be awesome but you have to go through a gruelling process to get accepted there.

this is our dilemma, we are going for a VBA2C and our local hospital flat out said they don't do them. So we are either going to have to just show up at the hospital when I'm just about ready to push, or we have a freebirth (can't afford a homebirth). It really sucks that we're in this predicament, but I have faith that somehow it will all work out. I also have my heart set on a water birth.

We're booked into have Bubba Number 2 at the Mater Hospital at Crows Nest in Sydney. It's where we had our first child in August 2006 (by c-section) and I had no hesitation in booking in there again. My husband reckons it's more like a hotel than a hospital!!!

I had my DS at Casey Hosp in Berwick, but I was low risk and had no complications. I could go back but I'm going private this time.
I've heard that Monash is very good though.

I will be going to the Mater Private in Cleveland (near Brisbane). I had ds there and it was absolutely BRILLIANT!!!! I have to have an elective c-section too, due the c-section with ds so I will probably actually be having bubbie in December!!!! Hope it is ok for me to stay in the January group???? :)

Krixly - It's fine to stay here hun, there are a few of us in the same situation too. At least you are sharing your journey with others who are at the same gestation
What I found last time was that the bubs were born in dec, jan and feb so it all ends up spread out anyway.

Hopefully at Kaleeya Hospital in East Fremantle although we live about 30 mins away, my sis had her latest baby there and it's more like a hotel but my GP recommends King Edward (specialist baby hospital in Perth) since I had a brain hemmorage although it's no good for me since I'd have to go to specialist brain hospital if something was to happen plus I hate King Edward since they made me wait 18 hours for a D&C last year when I miscarried which took only 15 bloody minutes!!!!!
Another thing my GP suggested although toooooo late now is to appoint an obstetrician BEFORE getting pregnant as some are booked out 12 mths in advance in Perth and is very hard to get one, Kaleeya has a clinic that I hope to go to but they have also been known to 'close' the clinic to new patients if they too many patients due around the same time, so fingers crossed I'll get in but they don't take any new patients until your 12 weeks anyway.

I'm having mine at the Mercy in Heidelberg, Melbourne. HAd last bubby therrea nd found it great. I'm actually going to chat to them about eh birthing centre, although I don't know what the deal is with having had a vbac previously as well as blood pressure issues. Hopefully it is booked out anyway so I don't have to feel dissapointed when they say no!
I'm hoping to labour at home for longer this time too, but that will depend on wether my mum is here to help with the kids.

I'm going either Westmead Private, (my sister had her two children there and it was great) or Hills Private Baulkham Hills, not sure. Think I'll decide after I've taken a look at both.

I have absolutely no idea where I am having it!
I don't have a car so I'll be relying on public transport to get to appointments.... so I dare say it will depend on who is easier to get to for appointments with a crappy son in tow :dizzy:
My two options at the moment are Redlands and Mater.... and I really don't want to go to the Mater.... but I think at the moment it's the easiest to get to!

Either the Mater Mothers in Brisbane ( i had #1 there) or the Sunnybank Private Hospital (depending on costing) I can go to public hospital as private patient but I still get to share a room anyway.

Sorry! Just spotted your post. I must be getting pregnancy brain :o.
I've seen Andrew a couple of times now and I like him. The ladies on reception are friendly too. Are you seeing him too?
Yes, happy to meet for a coffee. I'm pretty flexible as DS#1 is at school. Hope you're feeling better now. :)

Hi Girls!
We decided to go Wollongong Public. We were close to going Private but decided against it as im only going to be there for a few days and i can 'rough it' for those few days lol.
We went to visit friends that had their baby 2 wks ago at Wollongong public and really the only thing she had to complain about was the food but they have a microwave that you can get ur family to bring food in to heat up hehe so im not worried :)

I'll also be at the Mercy in Heidelberg. I had my son in the Family Birth Centre in 2006 and I found them terrific so I am going back. I stayed at home for quite a while before I went in, I think that helped a lot, there was no stopping it by the time we got to the mercy! My friend recently had a C/S at the mercy and she said they were great. She went to a private hospital for her first C/S and she said the Mercy was soo much better.

I SO want to get "made in China" tattooed on her butt .....
It was a hard decision but 2 friends have given birth recently and 2 more in the next few weeks and they have all been happy with the Doc and hospital so think it is for the best to stay together as a fam (DH would have only come to OZ for 2 weeks) and let DS be in his usual environment ....
BUT I hate the cold and it will be the middle of winter :hissy:
