Can any one tell me the other symptoms of menigiccocal. DD has a red spot on her arm(noticed as soon as she woke up). She is up to date with her vax. I will take her to the docs this morn. Is that how menigicoccal starts? Any advice would be great. thanx

Meningococcal bacteria are only passed from person to person by regular close prolonged household and intimate contact with secretions from the back of the nose and throat.
You are the expert in your family's health - if you are worried, seek immediate help.
It is important to go back to the doctor or hospital for more help if you are still worried.
Meningococcal C vaccine provides good protection from one strain of meningococcal disease.

Hi jaimie

When I lived in the UK they would always advise turning a tumbler/drinking glass on its side and running it over the rash. If the rash doesn't disappear under the pressure of the glass then go to your Emergency Dept immediately. If the rash does go white as the glass goes over it, then it is less cause for concern.

Personally though I would always get it checked out.

Hope your little girl gets better soon :)

Good luck and :fingerscrossed: all is well. You have to press the glass pretty hard and still try not to worry if it stays red as its still very unlikely to be anything serious and it sounds more like a dot than a rash so not sure the tumbler test will apply.

Let us know how you get on :hugs:
