Hi Everyone
Just wondering if anyone has used the ergo baby carrier? How did you find it ? Is it worth the expense? We have been using a baby born, but bub is getting a bit heavy for it now and we were considering this one.
Any feedback on it would be most appreciated!
Thanks,
Nicole:)

I personally havent used one- although have tried bubs in it, but I knw loads of people who have one and swear by it. (well i dont know them personally, but in forum world I do!!)
I too had a baby bjorn and it was havoc on my back, but the ergo is supposedly designed for both yours and bubs back. (www.badbacks.com.au)
I too was worried about the cost and have just bought a mei tai, (a similar style, but less rigid than the ergo) and it is FANTASTIC, took the weight of my 19 month old easy)
So in answer to your question, I have heard only good things about the ergo, and after trying the mei tai, the ergo is a DEFINITE on my list!!

I have an Ergo and it is great. I can recommend it
The back carrying position is great.

I have one too and I have been happy with it.
The advantage is the ability for your little person to increase in size.
I used mine from a little tyke - about 8 weeks from memory.
They are a bit bulky and I agree they are expensive. If you are getting one for a newborn, don't bother buying the newborn insert. It's basically a little rug - you could easily make it yourself and save the $60.

Thanks for your replies! A quick question about the ergo...how do you find getting the little ones onto your back? Is it very tricky? My DD is 7 months, would that be an ok age to put her on your back? Also where did you buy your ergo? I would like to be able to try on in a shop if possible.
Thanks.

I love my Ergo, my two year old still goes on it. Its quite easy to get a child onto your back, you can either put the Ergo on, then lean right forward and swing the child onto your back, or you can put it on sideways, put the child in, then turn the lot around. Do it in front of a mirror - so you can see what is going on before doing it in the car park, lol!

There is a lady at Bondall on Brisbane's northside who is more than happy for you to go to her house to try them on. I bought mine from her. She is pretty helpful.

I have an ergo and its great, wish I had got it sooner as now hes walking we dont use it so often, much easier on the back than the baby bjorn, plus you can carry them on your back when they get a bit older and it folds away easily if you are going travelling with it. My friend sells Patapum carriers which are the same as ergo but a bit cheaper, at $105 if you want her details PM me, you can buy them from her on ebay or direct
