Are there any other Mums out there whos Son's have or had a hydrocele??
My son has a multitude of Medical problems at the Moment and this is the only one I dont understand.
He has reflux, a hernia, hydrocele and a heart murmur.
Its hard to deal with all this stuff going on as sometimes I feel I have nobody to talk about it too. Without feeling I am doing or have done something wrong!! :crying:
So if anybody out there can tell me how there sons (or daughters, but i think only boys get it) hydroceles where treated can you let me know so I can at least chill out about this and understand it a bit better!!
Thanks Heaps in advance guys!! Hugs for you all:hugs:

Hi - my step son just was diagnosed at nearly 4 but he was born only 3lbs so some things been a bit slow happening...they usually sort at about 18months with a minor op...are they communicating on non communicating? Anyway Cruz had a little day op last month where they just close the gap to ensure no more fluids can get down into the sac and to prevent the risk of a hernia...all has gone v well...and no more swelling!! We were told not to worry and that it is all sortable - so thats the advice I would pass on to you :D
I googled hydrocele and found this hope it helps you

Hi mummycat, I'm sorry to read of your son's medical problems. Just wanted to let you know that my son was born with a hydrocele and it naturally went away and no medical treatment was needed - hope this will be the case for you to! :)
Hi Cat,
I have a baby boy called Bailey and he has bi lateral hydroceles( both sides i take it) and when he was 9 weeks old I found a lump in his groin area which was then diagnosed as a Inguinal Hernia( of the groin) and with that hernia they have to operate. My husband and I took him to the GP the morning we found it and he referred us to paediatric surgeon straight away and they got him in and booked for surgery within 5 days.
I was a wreck- my poor helpless 9 week old baby was having an operation and I have never had one in my life. But he was completely fine, came through perfectly and was back to normal that night!
If you need to talk to someone going through the same feel free to PM me!

Hey everyone one!!
Thanks for your advice and the link really helped.
Umm they are not really communicating cause they know I will stress about it.
I think they are wanting it to fix itself.
Yeah he has got a hernia too, but I dont know if thats from the same thing or not.:(
Thanks Baileys mum, its really helps with situations when someone else is or has gone through the same thing.
I think its more for me that everything was building up. I should of known it would be like this though my other son was...
Anyway thanks alot Ill pm baileys mum soon
Hi,
My DS has a hydrocele on the left side.
DH was totally freaked out about it "but that's his most important part"
My GP referred him to a specialist who told me that they are really common and usually go away by themselves by the age of 2 (I think it was 95% that go away by themselves). My DS is 3 months old now and it's still there but I'm not too worried at the moment. Apparently it doesn't cause them any pain or anything unless they have a lump in the groin which means a hernia.
I think if it doesn't go away by itself they operate to close the hole when they're a bit older. The Dr I saw was very reassuring and told me it wasn't my fault. Perhaps if you went to see a specialist about it it might put your mind at ease? I know it did for me.
Hope everything resolves itself :fingerscrossed:
