Hi,
Just wondering if any of you are experiencing what I am going through.
Every afternoon for the past 2 days I've been getting alot of gas.
And its been really hard because I'm at work. Abit embarrassing.
:o
My best friend thinks that I may have turned lactose intolerant? Which I haven't been. She thinks this can happen during pregnancy and also because I'm drinking a glass of milk a day which I never used to. I drink lite white. I don't like full cream milk.
So what do you gals think?

Hi Sabby-
I'm not going through it at all, but work with a girl who is 18 weeks pg, and she has to take a walk outside each day at about 2.30 to 'relieve' her symptoms
Not sure if she's drinking more milk than usual though. Sorry.
If you are having cramps and pain with it then maybe you are intolerant, and just not realised it before cos you've never drunk that much milk.
My advice is to let it out though....cant be good holding the gas in :D

I have never heard of pg induced lactose intolerance! Dosn't sound right to me!
Gas however is very very common in pg. Perhaps just not something most ppl admit to I guess!
Sitting here with my can of Impulse at the ready, which is used regularly, I can safely say you're normal as far as I know.
The other day I went to let a quiet one out and had the Impulse can ready and it was A LOUD ONE!!
I just stared straight ahead at the computer for a while because I didn't want to make eye contact with anyone. But then I couldn't spray the Impulse because then they would KNOW that what they heard WAS a fart and not just a figment of their imagination.
I guess its one of the many joys of having an out of control body. Apparently the weeing when sneezing can start any time as well. Not to mention the other leaky bits.
I have fart iss-ewes at the best of times. I can't stand them. Even DP knows he's not allowed to fart in my presence, so this is a big adjustment for me.
This baby better be cute, that's all I have to say.

Hi, I am not lactose intolerant, but I don't have a lot of milk generaly, when I do, it does seem to have a laxative effect and some times gas, but I don't suffer from extreme pain, which would happen if you were lactose intolerant. I think when we are pregnant our body just asks us for different sources of vitamins and minerals, abd if your body isn't used to it , could cause unwanted effects. Don't worry too much, your pregnant, after you have this baby...this will be NOTHING!!

Oh Shed!!! You are so hilerious!!! I can't stop laughing!
Atleast you are honest...
I have been just going straight to the toilet to release it but everyone might start to notice my 20 visits a day to the toilet inc my weeing sessions. If I don't let the gas out it hurst my belly so bad.
The worst thing at the moment is that we are having plumping problems with our toilets at work and we are only allowed to use one toilet which is the disable toilet, so my poor work mates have to put up with the gas....!!!! Oh well! We have glen 20 to clear the air anyway!
My friend strongly believes its the milk and suggesting I drink soya milk instead. What do you think about soya milk? Does it have the same nutritional value?

Firstly, is your friend a doctor or nutritionalist? If not, find out from a health proffessional, because people love to be experts, but they are usually guessing. Really u need to find out about the calcium content and other vitamins and minerals, to see if you would be getting enough from an alternative milk. Because your bubba really really needs the calcium, for it's bones! good luck finding out

sabby its not related to anything you've drunk or eaten, im sure it is hormones that relax muscles in every part of your body. dont freak out it might not last to long:D

Thank you Sara and bronny-jane for your advice. I won't stop drinking the normal milk. I'll just live with being fart machine. As my mum says farting is natural part of life...
