I am over apricot chicken so anyone else have any cheap/ easy drumstick recipes. I have some in freezer which I want to use.
TIA
Sometimes i just bake them, with McCormick Chicken Seasoning on them. Just sprinkle on chicken and bake easy and yummo.

Yeah, I guess I could do honey soy. I don't often (actually ever) use honey soy marinades.. or I could even make my own.
But the simple baked drumsticks sound yum too.
You guys are soo great!

Go the honey soy............... i just chuck together a littel soy sauce, more ketjap mannis(indonesian soy), a littel honey, a little bbq sauce and a sprinkle of ground ginger.........marinate overnight or ALL day if you have the time adn bake, basting every so often. They turn out so tender and juicy.......yummmmmm. Great on the bbq in summer too.
I have made the baked chicken drumsticks for friends and they all have said" wow what you do to the chicken??" It is really yummy, i also put the same seaoning on my roast chook. If you want the skin to be crispy rub in some salt as well..

I do honey soy and garlic marinated chicken on rice, yummy!
Just marinate the chicken legs in lots of soy sauce and honey with some minced garlic and some other herbs if you want, then dump into the fry pan and cook through. Or oven them in the marinade so they don't dry out.
My grandmother used to cook chicken drumsticks in a frypan in a marinade of green ginger wine, soy sauce garlic and sugar, I'm sure you can use wings as well. You don't have to soak them before hand just chuck it all in the frypan, you can't taste the green ginger wine and the alcohol (as always in cooking) evaporates, it's a sticky recipe but yummy as, I can't remember the measurements but if you're interested at all I can get them from my mum, if not that's okay.
My favourite is crumbing them in cornflakes.
Beat 2 eggs (or more depending on how many drumsticks), crush cornflakes lightly. Roll drumstick in flour, then the egg and then the cornflakes and shallow fry or oven bake (shallow fry is much nicer, but not nice for your hips!)

Lemon and Garlic!
Just chop up the lemon into slices, and peel the cloves of a full garlic.
Take half of the garlic cloves and half of the lemon slices. Crush the cloves into 2 tablespoons of olive oil. Squeeze the lemon into the oil and garlic mix and stir.
Paste the oil mix over the drumsticks and scatter the rest of the garlic cloves and lemon slices over the top. Bake for 1 hour on 180.
Serve with rice or vegies or salad :)

We use drumstcks to make chicken cacciatore, chicken chaseur (I usually cheat with maggi pkts for these:o), or a honey soy marinade as suggested above. The other ways we have them include sprinkled with a little celery salt then baked or with some soy and chinese 5 spice powder. Yummy.

hi all
my easy quick and budget chicken drumsticks recipe comes from the 4 ingredients cookbook (great!)
1 kg chicken drummies (i usually cook around 9 in a go)
1 pkt french onion soup
3 tbsp honey
3/4-1 cup water or white wine (i never have leftover wine in the house so i just use water)
You can lightly fry up drumsticks first if you like but i dont. Place drumsticks in casserole/oven dish. Mix honey, water and pkt soup together and pour over chicken. Cover and put in oven (160 fan forced) for 1 hr and then uncover and bake for a further 1/2 hour.
Always a hit ans sooooo easy!

I get my kids to make the dinner when its chicken drumstick night! I get them to break up all the few day old bread pieces we have into crumbs. They put the chicken drumsticks in a large bowl with some natural yoghurt, mix until all the drumsticks are covered everywhere and then roll them in the crumbs. Bake for 1 hour on 180 degrees. I dont add any salt or pepper or herbs for the kids but you could if you like.
I also make chicken nuggets this way but use cut up pieces of chicken breast instead of the drumsticks.
I of course take the chicken in and out of the oven for the kids but gee they are proud when they can tell everyone that they cooked dinner and I quite like them making the dinner too!!

Chicken and Vegie soup!!
Chuck it all in a pot (chicken and vegies) with a few stock cubes and boil til all cooked, then pull out the drumsticks and shred the meat off them and put it back in the pot.

I don't marinate. I just splash on some soy sauce and sweeze on some honey.
