I am getting Pins and Needles in my right hand, I've noticed the last few days it's when I wake up, but I've now realised it's when I make a fist as well.

Fluid Retention, right? is this anything to be worried about? Anything I can do about it?

A lot of pg women get carpal tunnel syndrome because of the extra pressure bubs puts on your body. Try & work out if its the way your sitting or lying etc that makes it worse usually laying on your right makes it worse or so i found.
Worse case scenario getting the doctor to check it out wont hurt.
I had a friend who needed to wear splints for the last 2mths of pg due to it getting so bad sucked yeah but helped with the pain etc.
Hope it settles for you :)

Hi there!

I had really severe carpal tunnel towards the end of my pregnancy. Some nights I would wake up crying in aginy because my arm was so painful and pins and needles were terrible. Most days I could not even feel my hand when i was putting make up on.

I can sympathise with you because I know how bad it is. Speak to your Ob or Gp and see if they can give you a splint or something because if you still have a while to go it may just keep getting worse (SORRY:( )

My Gp just told me I kinda had to put up with it because it was a common part of pregnancy but she also said if it got unbearable she could give me something for it. I just persevered but it was really annoying

Good Luck and hope you enjoy the rest of your pregnancy!

Leanne:)

Yeah I've had this quite bad over the last week or so - particularly in my right hand, but some days are OK compared to others.

It's quite normal in pregnancy, nothing serious and will resolve itself as soon as you've had your bub.

I had carpel tunnel as well- I opted not to have splints as it was really only in the night and morning while I was sleeping that it bothered me- though it was really annoying. There's nothing much other than that that can be done as far as I'm aware. Just one of those pregnancy symptoms. Oh- I found swimming to help as that got the fluid moving!
