I've heard that it is more efficient (energy and cost wise) to leave your central heating on 15 or 16 degrees overnight so that when you turn it up in the morning, it doesn't have to work as hard.
Has anyone else heard this?
The winter heating bill is bad enough, don't want to make it worse!

I don't know about the efficiency side of things, although it does make sense. We do leave ours on 16 overnight though. Firstly, I want to make sure the kids stay warm. And secondly, if I need to get up to either of them for some reason I don't wanna freeze! ;)
More often than not though, it rarely cycles on during the night at that temp.
